Ed002, are Arsenal interested in Ederson da Silva, at Atalanta?

RSharpe

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any Arsenal interest and they have other targets.}

Rumour doing the round that Arsenal could offer ESR in a swap deal for Douglas Luiz.

ESR not really getting games with us.

RSharpe

1.) 13 Nov 2023 20:14:27
Shame if true. ESR is a better player than Havertz, and could do a good job in there if given the chance.

2.) 16 Nov 2023 14:01:09
I am a big ESR fan, but I am starting to wonder if he is going to another Jack Wilshire (also a player that I loved in an Arsenal shirt)

he seems to have never really had a sustained season without an injury and when you consider that he was ahead in his time scale of first team than Saka was and how far apart their careers look now I am for the first time starting to wonder if we would be better off moving on From ESR.

Which I really dislike saying out loud.

Ed02, if you have the time, I have a question about club ownership. So, a person can't own more than one football club in the same league. How does that work for teams that are legible for the same competitions, like Europa League, Champions league, etc?

RSharpe

{Ed002's Note - The rukes are related to majority ownership, so owning a small percentage is not an issue. For situations whener owners like the City Group own several sides, those with the lowest co-efficients will be excluded. For clubs like RBL and RBS the ownership structure was changed to accommodate them.}

1.) 14 Oct 2023 01:55:33
Thanks ed, so for example if Girona and city qualify for the CL, would Girona be excluded and if they are, would they drop to the Europa League or be totally excluded?

{Ed002's Note - The City Football Group do not have majority ownership of Girona.}

I have a good feeling Mudryk will sign for us. He already has Only Jesus tattooed on his neck.

Just watched some clips of the lad. He looks very assured on the ball. If he fits in, he'll be some player for us.

RSharpe

1.) 06 Jan 2023 07:17:58
I'm not worried about Chelsea interest in him. The guy set his heart on arsenal and the way he's been behaving on social media indicates his only interested in joining us.

Shakhtar been a nightmare to deal with and United ruined the transfer market with antonys valuation.

I like what I'm seeing from him. I think him and felex will be a statement from arsenal but doubt we will get the 2.

{Ed014's Note - to be fair Mo United have ruined the transfer market with countless over priced transfers!

That Antony is absolute garbage, he makes Pepe look like Messi! Jason Sancho another one. ?‍♂️

2.) 06 Jan 2023 08:09:15
Totally agree ed mate, so you can understand shakatar point of view when you have 2 clubs in the PL in chelsea and untied are willing to pay over the top for players, selling teams start licking their fingers when they see they have an opportunity to take advantage.

{Ed014's Note - it’s only natural mate, it’s such a long time since we’ve had a saleable asset (player) that we forget what it’s like and would probably be doing the same.

3.) 06 Jan 2023 10:32:45
14, it's Jadon. Jadon Sancho. Also, surprised you didn't mention the fridge ?

Moe, I'm not keen on a Felix transfer to us. I can't see him setting the EPL on fire, but I could very possibly be wrong.

4.) 06 Jan 2023 13:30:31
Hey sharpy mate, hope you're well bud.
I think Felix can do well in an attacking team such as arsenal or city or even barca. But we can say the same about mudryk too.
What I see from mudryk is his immense when he has space to run at defenders but can he do we games are locked and 10 players behind the ball like last week game. So a player with good dribbling can get through couple of players the suddenly you have a chance. I think Felix can create those spaces. IMO, I ain't no football manager in the end. ?.

02 Aug 2022 19:01:36
Ed002, what gossip have you got for us? Feel free to tell us things you wouldn't tell your shrink. But also some stuff about transfers and such.

RSharpe

{Ed002's Note - There is not much new - Tielemans and Melo are players the club are keen on, but ned to move players on.}

Absolutely superb performance from the lads.

Special mention for someone else who was in form in chat. Glenn, take a bow mate! I didn't even know you could be funny! ?

As a team, I feel we're better than last season. There's more of a cutting edge to us. We seem more ruthless and the players aren't afraid to get in amongst it. Really looking like a great team.

RSharpe

{Ed014's Note - but do we need a striker?

1.) 24 Apr 2024 10:24:09
Sshhhhh I've managed to stay doom and gloom free since I first mentioned it. Don't jinx me!

{Ed014's Note - ? it’s been amazing the amount of goals we’ve scored without an out an out striker though.

I don’t know what to think now ?‍♂️

What I like though is I trust Arteta, Edu and Josh to do what’s needed.

2.) 24 Apr 2024 12:00:34
I'm the same ED, I was all for an out and out striker, not sure now.

{Ed014's Note - it’s mad mate, we were all worried about it and once again we’re still banging them in.

I have a feeling we’ll still get one as an upgrade on Jesus will still be a big need.

I’ve always liked him but he seems to hold us back now as we’ve developed as a team.

I’m wondering if he’s trying to hard too, he looks a frustrated figure on the pitch.

3.) 24 Apr 2024 12:35:27
I agree, he looked frustrated last night. As you say he doesn't fit the style of the team now, we have developed well.

4.) 24 Apr 2024 13:31:34
You guys are fecking nasty! That's just his normal face!

5.) 24 Apr 2024 14:41:50
Just two years ago Jesus and Zinchenko were City players they deemed they could get rid of and we received gratefully. We have evovlved as a team so quickly they are surplus to us now as we are now at that level almost. I think we need to upgrade Jesus and I think the only striker that would complement us is Isak. Left back a problem but Timber is back and with Tommy as cover we are good to go there.
Shout out to both Ben White and Trossard - both proving they are good enough for a top six team and good enough for us COYG If only Partey could keep fit - releases Rice to do his thing.

6.) 24 Apr 2024 16:10:11
I think we 1000% need a new striker, I don’t think harvertz is a 20/ 25 striker at all he’s had a good game yesterday but seems to go missing a lot, if we get someone who can score 20/ 25 league goals then everyone can look out.

7.) 24 Apr 2024 16:15:36
Haha thanks mate. The wife had allowed me to have some mid week beers which always helps! Always enjoy the banter on the chats, and smashing Chelsea made it even better.
COYG!

8.) 24 Apr 2024 16:19:30
Imo we need a proper striker and a pivot player (if Partey leaves) to compete at the absolute highest level. Bayern and Porto both found a way to make life difficult for us and i believe having those kind of players would help us to find the solution against them. We're able to beat most teams without problems as is but the best teams will look to mitigate your strengths and exploit your weaknesses.

9.) 24 Apr 2024 17:59:23
14, I know we're scoring a lot of goals, but in a couple games this season, we've created chances, had no one to convert them, and lost the game.

It's not like we don't deploy a striker; he's just not very effective.

In perspective, White has scored the same number of goals as our striker, albeit over 10 more appearances - but still.

Yeah mate, we need a striker.

{Ed014's Note - I do agree mate and can’t see us not getting one as it’s clear we don’t have an out an out natural goal scorer.

No idea who it may but hope we get him in quickly in the summer.

10.) 24 Apr 2024 21:16:19
For perspective Sharpie is that goal stat true? At least in Prem it’s 11 - 4! Says more about White for me. If we need one Isak for me after all city have a Cyborg and we’ve scored more! I take your point about a couple of games but do we change our style to accommodate? It’s why I’m not paid the big bucks I don’t know but happy for those that do to make the decision COYG Ineffective? No.

{Ed014's Note - hey mate, sorry I missed your post the other day but all good with my much better half and thanks for asking. ?

11.) 24 Apr 2024 21:27:14
??? I’m hoping I’ve read it wrong! You meant Jesus didn’t you ? Not Super Kai Havertz! Apologies if so and agree to be fair COYG.

12.) 25 Apr 2024 06:18:48
Sus, yeah mate, I meant Jesus. And I'm absolutely not suggesting we change our style of play. Getting a new striker doesn't have to mean a different style of play.

23 Apr 2024 12:28:50
You know things have got awkward when sparky is asking for group hugs!

Get yourselves sorted, no one needs to be part of this nonsense.

#unity or #unutty #COYG.

RSharpe

{Ed014's Note - ?

1.) 23 Apr 2024 15:46:18
Here Here Sharpie! 2-0 to us COYG #backtothefootball COYG.

{Ed025's Note - dont underestimate this Chelsea side SUSSEX they are a complete enigma mate, they will be right up for this tonight..

2.) 23 Apr 2024 12:57:46
How you doing 14? When you putting on your big boy trousers and slumming it in chat?

{Ed014's Note - all good thanks mate and I was in the chat for the Wolves game, how’s you mate? All good I hope

3.) 23 Apr 2024 17:01:16
Agree Ed25 but got to be optimistic otherwise what’s the point! They shouldn’t be underestimated- they have spent a gazillion! Still dreaming of a victory over Everton again for the title - with you safe of course COYG.

{Ed025's Note - your dead right SUSSEX, you hopefully have enough to score a hat full mate and nothing would make me happier..

07 Apr 2024 11:07:04
So, despite being busy yesterday, and missing the first half of the game, I ventured into the live chat because I didn't want Mal to get all bent out of shape with me. Hi Mal!

Not going to lie folks, but I feel, ever so slightly, that I might have a hand in our great performances. No need to thank me. Sometimes you got to do what's important for the greater good.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend.

At the end of the season, no matter how it ends, RG is throwing a party on his yacht. Everyone is invited.

#COYG #yachtlife.

1.) 07 Apr 2024 11:44:57
Hi mate, much appreciated your had time ritual.

2.) 07 Apr 2024 17:28:51
Won't be much of a party it's only a 2 man dinghy and the padding pool it's mored in has a hole.

3.) 07 Apr 2024 22:12:46
No hold on RG, it's not like you talking down your fortune.
Party it is woohoooo
???.

4.) 08 Apr 2024 06:37:00
We've won every game that I didn't watch this season in all comps, only exception being the draw at the Etihad which I see as a win.
Anyway, I'm going to pull an ed001 and not risk watching another game live! You're welcome, all of you.

31 Mar 2024 15:40:41
Any preferred lineups for today? Not sure if Sake, Martinelli or Gabi are playing. Is Tommy back from injury?

RSharpe

{Ed014's Note - Raya, White, Gabriel, Kiwior, Rice, Jorginho, Odegaard, Saka, Havertz, Jesus, Saliba,

1.) 31 Mar 2024 20:45:11
You do realise the lineups are released an hour before kick off. But then again, you are a Scotsman.

Where bouts in the highlands, i been dunbar the last couple years amd its a proper sh*thole.

2.) 31 Mar 2024 21:27:29
What's with the weird anti Scottish post?

3.) 01 Apr 2024 08:01:25
Jack, I'm pretty sure most places you visit smell like that once you're there.

And while I'm no Scotsman, it's an honour to live in this beautiful country alongside these great people.

#whyyousosalty.

23 Feb 2024 05:36:26
Not buying any of this "Havertz was our best player" malarkey. He's really not shown anything yet for the outlay on him. Every time I see him with the ball, he's trying to get rid of it like it's a hot potato.

Next leg will be interesting. Our patch, home crowd, hope we stuff them.

First though, Newcastle. Tricky game.

In other news, anyone else seen the clip of Cara running up and down the studio celebrating a win against Luton? Just get down the tunnel, spitty.

RSharpe

1.) 23 Feb 2024 08:20:28
Sharpie good morning

No one is saying Kai is world class but he was the best of a bad bunch and in my opinion he has been very good in the last 5 league games

All this bashing reminds me of the shyte Granit use to get

I think kai has 6 or 7 goals this season not bad for someone who plays midfield or number 10

Give the lad a break.

2.) 23 Feb 2024 09:09:11
Carraggers got a spit personality.

3.) 23 Feb 2024 15:21:05
He may not be as touch-heavy or incisive with his passing as you would like but it doesn't mean he's been bad. His movement off the ball creates space for others and the upside of being conservative means we retain the ball when he plays it safe. I would like to see him try through balls for Martinelli a bit more but on the whole i think he's been pretty good lately.

4.) 24 Feb 2024 08:14:02
Mal, the lad has 5 goals, but what's more telling is the 1 assist. He's just not in amongst it.

Luis apparently has a £103 million release clause. Thought Lavia was a £50 million prospect.

Is selling the project harder because they're trying to stay on the right side of FFP? I remember when Man City and Chelsea were first taken over, they really splashed the cash. Newcastle don't seem to be doing that.

RSharpe

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with FFP.}

Ed002, why is Newcastle seen as a less tempting solution?

RSharpe

{Ed002's Note - Because they do not have the high-profile of other clubs and need to sell their project to players.}
