So Demot Gallagher, doesn't support Dyches moans at all. that's funny after a biased match of the day analysis and biased media reporting. He says, no penalty, no bookings for diving and only a booking for barnes in the wwe contest with papa.

It's all opinion mate, one man's meat is another man's poison . Give 10 different refs exactly the same situation and they will come up with 11 different answers.

The injury list is crazy

Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Right foot. Fractured metatarsal. Expected to return to full training in six weeks.

Nacho Monreal
Tight right hamstring. Being assessed ahead of Brighton and Hove Albion (a) on Wednesday, December 26.

Shkodran Mustafi
Right hamstring. Expected to return to full training this week.

Hector Bellerin
Left calf. Expected to return to full training in two weeks.

Emile Smith Rowe
Right hip. Expected to return to full training in December.

Dinos Mavropanos
Groin injury. Expected to return to full training in December.

Rob Holding
Left knee. Recovering after surgery.

Danny Welbeck
Right ankle. Recovering after surgery.

We need reinforcements - seems a crazy time to sell Ozil.

Need to add creativity as well as two central defenders.

I don't think they will sell ozil without a replacement whatever.
The dilemma is, for all the other needed places, do you get a stop gap because you can't get your desired target because it is notoriously hard getting quality in jan. Or do you wait until the summer and get the person you want. i'm not sure you can always have it both ways. I do think they will make an effort to reinforce but it will/ should only be a player for the long term. Stop gapping is very short term and impacts the wage bill, for first choice players, for later.

I think if there is a way to get Mesut off the wage bill the club will take personally.
It's not working out for us or him for whatever reason so I think both player and club will jump at the chance if someone offers a solution that's acceptable.

Steve - I would love to see some long term signings eg 25 year olds who can grow with the team and already have some international pedigree. We have too many old heads who need replacing in next 2 years . Cech, Nacho, Kos, Papa, Lichtsteiner - then those not good enough and also those who want to leave.

It's going to be a slow but hopefully sure fix SY mate, we can't put right years of poor choices and decisions in a couple of windows but we can enjoy watching the steady progress the team shows along the way.
I reckon in 2 years 2020 2021 season we will be right in the thick of the title race again.

24 Dec 2018 21:31:30
True but only if we sign top 25 year olds now.

24 Dec 2018 22:34:14
I think in 2 to 3 years time there will be top 20 to 25 year olds we've not yet heard of SY mate and we need to make sure we get more than our fair share of them.
Think to the summer of 2015 and who'd heard of Torreira Mbappe Kante to mention just 3 players who are now household names and top top players, that's where we've got to be better than our opponents if we're going to be the best again mate because out bidding our way isn't an option for us.

Merry Xmas to G62 and all fellow Gooners. The pressie for G62 is a new CB. We are being linked with Cahill and Fernando Calero who is reported to be in London. I am not sure we will sign 2 CB's unless Mavrapanos is going to be out for longer than expected. I rate Cahill and only wish we had signed him from Bolton in 2012 when we had the chance. Perhaps he still has a couple of seasons in him,
More bad news on the injury front with Mkhitaryan out for 6 weeks.
Players are dropping like flies once again. Interestingly all 5 of Emery's signings are fit. Perhaps the lack of conditioning under the old guard is coming back to haunt us. With so many injuries, 2 season ending, I envisage at least 2 signings in the upcoming window.

Have a great one mate.

With a heavy December and January fixture list, I would like to see us utilise certain players to give others a rest.
Maitland-Niles is one such player, who I would like to see play in his favoured position of DM, as Lichtsteiner can plat at RB.

A three man midfield of Torreira Guendouzi and Maitland Niles would be interesting to see once Belerin is fit, if it worked well wow how many years do they all have left at the top and all are yet to reach there prime by some distance too.
It might or might not work out but it's an exciting prospect.

I think with the injuries, more players like AMN could get more game time. He is one who has potential but doesn't quite have the end product yet.

This is why Ozil must be in the team. He makes people expose space due to his brilliance and vision

"It was unbelievable, " Kolasinac said. "We all know Mesut's qualities and I only actually made that run because I saw that he had the ball.

"Not many players would have been able to play that pass. He can, and when I saw him get on the ball, I knew he was going to find me. It was a brilliant pass from him. "

He makes a weak team weaker but a strong quality team even better. He was the heart beat of the team against Burnley while others were the lungs and muscle!

I agree with all that SY mate and I'm a huge Mesut fan but I do think he's offski this January with Turkey his most likely destination.
All in all it might be best for everyone over a 38 game season given we are in a rebuilding programme rather than looking for finishing touches.
He'd be brilliant at City or as part of the invincibles, he's the difference between a rolls royce and a Mercedes but not the type of player to turn a Ford escort into a Mercedes.
Brilliant player at a brilliant club but just unfortunately the timings were all wrong.
