Don't know why but Perez when he plays creates a lot of chances and should be given a run in the team! He wasn't exactly cheap.

9 games, 6 goals, 3 assists and he can't get in team.

That must be a great team if he can't get in with those stats - plus he broke the crossbar against Watford.

What team is it?

1 moan about the ref - surely that was a foul and possibly red card for elbow on Bellerin for the first goal. Dangerous play with intent. If that had gone the other wAy - interesting game. Don't get me wrong, CFC dominated us but that was a bad call from the ref.

I think I should have picked the team and done the team talk :

"04 Feb 2017 09:42:14
. They must run themselves into the ground and be subbed after 65 mins. When not in possession they must hunt the ball down in packs. They must work the wings to support the fullbacks. So:

Wellbeck and Walcott on the flanks as they can give that and the boss must tell them to deliver. They can also switch positions with the striker Sanchez which gives us options. This is a fast powerful front three who would give any back 4 nightmares.

So Sanchez, Wellbeck and Walcott

NO STUPID red cards please and keep your shape - I am talking to you Monreal, Bellerin and OX.

Remember to track back - Walcott and OX.

Sanchez - remember you are the striker & if you are too far back we have limited options

Most importantly -
Remember you are wearing the famous crest so do us proud and play with your heart on your sleeve while also using your brain!' "

Pretty simple really - obvious the wingers needed energy. Wellbeck changed the game when he came on. Obvious our fullbacks go forward as a pair which is ridiculous. Obvious you need to hunt in packs like CFC do and play with intensity

We had chances but we were not even second best yesterday & CFC could have scored plenty more

Worryingly poor

Just for you sy. It was a foul, it wasn't intentional, it wasnt a card the goal shouldn't have stood but the only way it would have been 100% ruled out, would have been video ref. We don't have them, if we did we might have had a goal ruled out against burnley. Some things can't be seen with the naked eye.

True - that and the linesman plus the fact he was knocked out, . shearer thought it was ok so it must be😉

Martin Keown said on Bt Sport that Wenger will sign a 2yr extension. Despite what he has done in the past i don't think he deserves it but i think he is arrogant enough
to sign it despite the obvious split it will cause among fans and players also. The next home game against Hull is massive because if we were to slip up which could happen looking at Hulls present form the crowd crowd could really show there feelings more than what they did say a few seasons back first game of the season against Villa 1-3 lost. I know some fans say if he goes who is out there to replace him but you just can't accepting below par performances like yesterday if we are to truly challenge for the title. Last year was a terrific chance of winning it with both Mancs and Chelsea having managerial problems, we had a settled squad not the greatest squad but good enough considering what was going on but he still came up short. Another thing i have to get of my chest is the dig he had about Kante going to Chelsea because of the higher wages when he himself is in the probably top 5 paid managers in the world and failing miserably when Kante looks to be joining people like Ashley Cole winning the prem with different clubs. The thing that really grates with me is he's loyalty to players that clearly are not good enough, i not going to name them because we all know who they are. I am nearly 61 years old and have supported them since i was 6,thats 55 years with great times, good times and bad times and i never so wanted for Arsenal to change their manager has i do now, i rather fail trying to do something different than failing doing the same things with the same excuses because remember Gooners its Arsenal F. C. not Arsene F. C.
Take care everyone.

I think keown is just stirring, we all know there has been a contract on the table for months so that's not new and wenger as I've said before, maybe stubborn but he's not stupid. Unless a miracle happens and he wins the CL he will go.

I'm eager to see what happens in the summer! I want change but not change for the sake of change! Nobody knows what's going on behind the scenes! There might be a situation where choices 1,2,3,4 and 5 might either be not available or want to replace Wenger.

There could be situations where ozil and Sanchez have said that they want to see certain things cleared up or changed before they sign! Apart from wages etc they might want clarification on who's going to be at the helm they might want to know that arsenal are actually going to sign 2-3 top players.

They (especially Sanchez) might want players like Ramsey to be offloaded and a general spruce up around the club. It's obviously a balancing act there are more than one variables at play. Steve you have mooted various candidates for the job to replace Wenger. Candidates that I personally agree on.

But what if they are not available? Would you have anyone? Would you like me be happy if a situation like this plays out and we offload 5-6 players the dead wood the inconsistent players the fair weather players and replaced with a couple of what is perceived as world class and others that are good already with potential to be better!

For example in the summer I suggested selling Walcott and bringing in Sadio mane (obviously an example without knowing the realistic possibility of it happening) and Ramsey going and draxler coming in! Now I know horse and bolted but you get my drift. So in short steve would you accept another 2 years of Wenger if conditions like that were met?

One things for sure if something isn't there to appease the faithful and Wenger does sign a new deal the club is going to get even more toxic. I'd say at the moment even after 13 years of disappointment Wenger would leave a hero this summer! But another 2 years of this crap and he will go out on a serious low.

I honestly think we are now being held back by the manager and his ways. I don't 100% trust the board at all, in fact I don't trust them 100%. We need a fresh approach at this club and that mrans a fresh manager with modern ways and modern coaching techniques.

I've said this before the older managers, capello, anchelloti, van gaal, del bosquet and all the other 60+ nineties and early noughties successful manager are now being put out to grass and the new breed are coming through. Look at the top managers in spain, italy, france, germany and here and the top clubs are being managed by younger managers. We shouldn't be any different if we want to move forward.

We need one of those new breed steve! We can't just take anyone. I for one am annoyed with the board it seems that they have not been proactive and have been completely reactive! All waiting on wengers descision. Maybe now they are planning something but it's 3 years too late.

The last contract Wenger signed should have been the start of the transition and that's when they should have taken action. In that time we have seen decent managers move from club to club. Another problem appears to be kronke. It has been downhill ever since David dein left the club.

05 Feb 2017 22:47:18
Agree, I don't think the board would know a good manager if one slapped them on the chops. I don't think they want to appoint one, they want wenger to stop But that would be disasterous for this club, the under current that is there would be like a bomb going off. I just hope they pick a winner and at least give us all hope and don't think about the safe option for their business model.

We are a team full of average players, bar Sanchez the brief spells of ozil, bellerin, Cech and kos. And I'm not going to go into the wenger in wenger out situation or the tactics and stuff like that, this is just about the players. I'm order to challenge for the title we need star players!
Mustafi - alright but there are a lot better options let's face it
Monreal and Gibbs - how many seasons are we going to give them before they become good?
Xhaka - has done nothing brilliant yet, we could have got someone who adds a lot more to the team
Coq - what's going on?
Santi - not sure if he's injured or not
Elneny - why did we sign him? He's not young or any good
Walcott - is not clinical but has brief glimpses of a good player
Chambo - average
Giroud - should start more but we still need someone better
Perez - does deserve more started but is overall a back up at best.

Noticed recently with Sanchez attitude arms up in the air very selfish play seems upset frustrated and detached but not one player is bigger then this club and if him and ozil try hold us to ransom in the summer we should make big changes and sell them. Ozil has been shocking last 3 months but is never dropped, Perez can't get a game but based on form deserves one. I genuinely feel our set up and tactics let us down the players at his disposal I believe for the first time in years are actually good enough, with the emirates move in years gone by we've had young weak squads and we have over achieved where as now it's experienced deep and just deployed all wrong. No one should be untouchable, wenger Sanchez nor ozil fearing change and loss is always a problem but it shouldn't hold u back we will always be the Arsenal. Aslong as I see 11 lads who play for the shirt and give 100% I can tolerate any result. But at the moment I don't see that.

JUST ONE MORE THING!
I hope the club has the good sense to field our strongest team in EVERY FA Cup game and that includes Sutton United,
If we look like we have tried to win that at least the club has shown some respect to the fans.
It may not be of much importance financially to the club but as far as Arsenal supporters go we would like to see some type of reward at the end of the season.
Wenger! Here's a bit of advice mate.
Put out your strongest possible team from the kick off. Don't rest the top players because you think we will win regardless.
WHEN we are so far in front during the match then and only then should you be playing our lesser players.
Show Sutton the same respect too.
I couldn't stand the embarrassment of losing to Sutton down to complacency!

Im not sure what our strongest team is. It will definitely be physical and different to what they are used to. Personally I wouldn't miss ozil against them, his attitude isn't the best when it gets a bit rough. I wouldn't mind perez, I wouldn't mind ospina and a few others who are not regular starters. What would be our best team?

Why are we interested in players that most of us, well nearly all of us have never heard of?
Shall I answer that?

Because the top players in the world we have! heard of wouldn't play for us as long as we had a hole up our backside!
We are only a top club on past reputation and it's time to come to terms with it.
Name one top player in the world under 30 you believe would want to play for Arsenal?

I hope Wenger stays believe it or not.
Why? That's easy to answer because there's is nobody out there at the moment that's good enough to turn us around and I'm afraid that what is available will see us as a mid table club for the next few seasons, That is if we don't crumble and end up that way this season .

I do not agree Lanesra. Ther eare only two possible outcomes for a coach. Failure and success. Wenger has been failing for quite a few seasons. So next logical decision is to get a winner or rather try to get a winner. How can we identify winners if we don't try? Ferguson, Ronaldo, Eto'o etc. All these football greats were unknowns at some point, so why not throw caution to the wind and get a good enough coach and give him enough funds and a bit of time? It's better to try something rather than keep doing the same thing every season and keep stumpbling at the same block each time. I am tired of it and I would like us to try something else.

I'm going to throw the cat amongst the pigeons here.
Firstly Ozil. What does he really! bring to the table? . Would it be such a tragedy if he left? .
Sanchez, great player for us but any top team with half a brain will plan to mark him out of the game and that's us done!
He looks great against our weaker opponents that's because their weak!
But when we play top clubs like Chelsea who have plenty of options it's not a problem.
Arsenal! , pain me as it does to say it, have been riding on their past reputation for far too long. Take that away and we have nothing! . Forget the invincibles that's a lovely memory.
If you were a world class player what would attract you to join Arsenal? When Sanchez leaves we won't have a player that' a world class player would even consider playing alongside and I can't see it happening either.
We have a lovely stadium, true, a stadium that most people now can't afford to go to! .
Trouble is paying for it has cost us on the pitch something had to give and now it's showing.
I love Arsenal and have done for 55 years but we are miles away from being a top club anymore we just can't compete at that level
consistantly. I'm sorry.

Ozil and Sanchez are fantastic players. I think the problem is the man at the top. He has a good crop of players but they always seem so jaded. All our players peak at different times of the season. Rarely in recent seasons have we been a nice cohesive unit. Bits and pieces of individual brilliance surrounded by dross. Wenger is the problem and if we replace him with Simeone for example, this team will play much better even without additions.

Rue, i'm of the opinion and have for a while that every team for the last few seasons have under achieved points wise. Our lack of team ethic and lack of tactical awarenes is so glaringly obvious, we, even with these players could have got many points more. The coaching or lack of coaching is scary, we do the same things time after time and make the same mistakes time after time. Football left wenger behind a decade ago. If he wasnt at a club like arsenal he would be in a hotel in benidorm for the winter.
