see are medical team at it again kos the boss out indefinitely at least 4 weeks does this mean we carry on with monreal there, hope not am starting to worry about 2moro already going to try and stay positive a nice 1 or 2 nil with sanchez on scoresheet would be nice,

1.) Honestly mate I'd be surprised if we kept a clean sheet. Judging by Sunderland's defence we should be able to outscore them, but I'm sure we'll concede. I'm guessing something like 4-2 win for us.

I actually think Monreal gets a bit of a rough deal - he has done alright at CB (his stats against Hull are bizarrely good) and wasn't so much at fault for goals this week. He gets drawn over to players coming in from the wing and leaves gaps in the defence, but that has more to do with Gibbs bombing forward and Cazorla not covering. Of the two, Mertesacker has been the CB at greater fault over last few games.

That aside, the need for another CB is glaringly obvious. It will be Wenger's failure if he doesn't get one in next window (and a good one, not another Squillaci).

2.) We needed a CDM and a CB we got neither.

we are short at the back and in the middle we are just placing players who just give away possesion too much in a position which is crucial.

when is Arteta back, I can't believe we are soo bad that he makes us look decent.

3.) If monreal was 6 foot 2 we would be ok. But he isnt

well wenger done it again, anyone else thinking it doesn't matter what players mourinho has, give him Swindon or mk dons team and I still think wenger would struggle against him. Nothing new either from mourinho same tactics control and counter, pick out a couple of players to rough up and test continually ie. ozil no combative bite to protect players like him, u know sunday league if the other team kicks your best player continually u rally round him and give him protection make sure the other team knows your up for the fight. They look like a team of winners with a plan and it comes from mourinho, It seems we go into these games without a structured plan of how to win, its not the players responsibilty to work it out as they go along they need direction. also wenger moaning about there financial clout is a joke 35mill sanchez and 45ish for ozil come on take some responsibility, what must the players think when he comes out with these ridiculous statements.
Someone put wenger is a dinosaur and I think that is a great analogy unfortunatley he is still in the past, we have the players to win these big games but just no plan it must be embarrassing for wenger he gets beat by the same tactics all the time he is a tactical fool

1.) If a team plays how we want them to play against us we slaughter them but as soon as a team refusess to let us dictate the pace where in trouble.
Against most teams we still have just about enough not to lose and probably win most but against a good tactical manager who also has good players ( Dortmund, chavs) we're out of our depth.

For all wengers good points, youth development keeping the club financially secure, playing good football he has some major problems being a top club manager in football at the mo. He is tactically very weak he doesn't understand or is too ignorant to ever change our tactics except a slight change in formation. He will never win champs league he would have ****ed up barca 09 team he simply is getting stale at arsenal he picked up the best number 10 in world football and turned him into a lost boy who hinders are team. He will never improve defence, defensive signings(vivas, luzny, stephanovs, cygon, monreal, almunia, eboue, djouruo, senderos) are a joke and there are loads more, I know there has been some good to but take sol Campbell and koscielny away the rest are average at best. How long have we needed dmf since gilberto silva 8 odd years. Could have had one possibly song but wenger was too busy wanting him to be himself and express himself that he never got the defensive side of the game but he was sold anyway and replaced with arteta and would he still be in evertons midfield no way would he and its not as if the whole time he had a plan a youth player coming through, no he had coquelin who plays at left or right back for us and by the way he is rubbish too. watched the saints game at emirates and defending corners was a joke, it was so bad, conference stuff and we wernt really punished for it. I know attacking wise he is a good coach and some of the attacking players brought have been really special but its not good enough. He won lots early when he was fresh and had ideas, diet ect. o and the best back 5 in premier league history. who loses to sam allardyce for like six years solid when he managed at Bolton and stuff, mourinho destroys him regularly in the end fergie couldn't even be bothered to have a rivalry with him by the end as we wernt serious contenders. We will never win league or champions league under him and he will never win champs league or another top domestic league again. People get worried our players will leave if he does, well leave then we where here before u and we will be here long after. I am not generally a wenger hater but its been going on for too long, and I am sure we will finish 3rd put in a good run at some point then we will get some big games in a row and we will go out all the cups and get a 5-0 drubbing in the league and it will be, arsenal good team soft belly can't handle the crunch time.

Agree with you that he is stubborn and weak tactically, we've never seen a win over a Mourinho side, and like you say Fergie couldn't be bothered and tbh Wenger couldn't either! Selling Rvp to them got us some cash, but also won them the league and it was soul destroying.

Bring in a young manager with ideas. Someone who has a clue when it comes to defending and doesn't stick to the same weak tactics against obviously stronger teams.

Replace; Mertersacker, Flamini, Arteta and diaby IMO, With quality first team players, then add depth by buying 3-4 more defenders and 2 defensive midfielders.

Just a post regarding our midfield formation and players in it, obviously nobody likes ozil on the wing not his position not good there in fact he is a problem there doesn't track back at all other teams take advantage of it. We have changed our formation to have a def mid instead of att mid with JW and AR in front, this is to counter are weakness on the break from last year however it hasn't worked because MF and MA haven't got any legs, this formation also means ozil doesn't have a position available unless u put him inside along AR again I don't think this works so this leaves me thinking what the hell is wenger up to, we could have signed fabregas who would be perfect along AR in the midfield if he wanted to play this way if not continue with the 2 holding and ozil in front and buy a athletic defensive minded midfield to play with AR. But to change the formation and not but suitable players for it is a joke. I know ozil has had a lot this summer but he hasn't been the player we expected he looks lost in our team and every time I watch arsenal this year afta 60 mins or earlier I want him subbed, its so frustrating. Think cazorla has improved his workrate and I would like to see him more in our current formation the boy is class and efficient on the ball.

Anyway rant over come on you gooners let's beat villa today(hard game) get our season going. sanchez is awesome and I think welbeck is a good addition poor mans henry but with time and some confidence in front of goal could be important for us.

First time post, just wanted to post about the fabregas saga, my opinion is the chances of him going to chelski are virtually none, reasons are wenger loves him and dislikes mourihno so would sign fab just so mourihno woulnt get 1 over him, fab loves arsene and has had spats with mourihno in spain, fab is a great player but can be lazy defensively something mourihno despises why mata went why oscar was getting dropped, can see the issue with our mid and not wanting to stunt the growth of wilshere and the ox but we pick up lots of injuries and arteta and diaby (gd player but to injury prone) should go and make room 4 fab and add a athletic dm with good positional play(think whole world knows this) and we will have possibly best mid in world football. I´m going to get a bit greedy here but add sanchez up front who could switch with theo and I think we will have one of the most dynamic attacking teams in the league possibly europe.

Totally agree, the first goal proves it pathetic by flamini he should know u deal with the ball there but monreal cb and bellerin in are defence, wenger take responsibility no more rubbishty response like its our injuries its the big teams financial clout when we play them its his tactics his squad and his responsibility, best thing is he goes this summer and we rebuild the defence next summer with a new manager

We where not the reason they didn't have loads of shots, its mourinho tactic don't commit too many forward against us as we always give chances anyway, and be compact against us as we have no plan b to get a goal, wenger had no say on how the game went he just turned up saw us get beat and moaned about their financial power pretty pathetic really
