Has anyone else heard that Alex iwobi is jay jay ococha's nephew. What a revelation! (Sarcasm intended)

Aussie Gunnah

{Ed001's Note - I can't believe that, I mean it is not like they mention it 30 times a game before he even gets on the pitch or anything......}

Who is Jay Jay Ococha?
Is he Iwobis uncle?

With all this talk of bac leaving this year, this most recent rumour of the young saints kid Callum chambers coming in confuses me. We have an apparent young Spanish super star in the making at rb in Hector Bellerin who is about the same age and is doing really well in the reserves.

If Bac is to go, would you want someone with experience like an ibate

Promote from within Bellerin.

or go for the saints kid?

For what it's worth, I'd go down the experience path and go for ibate.

1.) Nothing wrong with having both and seeing who develops into the better player

2.) Coleman for me ( sorry again Ed025) pay what takes before someone else does

{Ed025's Note - hopefully not G62, he is the best right back in the league, and we aim to keep him mate..

3.) I could be wrong, but hasn't Bellerin been gradually retraining as more of a central midfielder than a right back? I know he is naturally a right back but I seem to remember a few journalists saying that Wenger views Bellerin's long term future playing at CM.

4.) You may be right jack. And yes in my absolute ideal world bac would stay and we would get Coleman or chambers to develop alongside bellerin if his future does lie at rb. I guess the jury is still out on jenko though.

5.) Aussie I think Jenks is another player who get far to much stick as with Ramsey I think he will be a big player for Arsenal in the next couple of years, but next season we HAVE to deliver and the best placed RB for that is Sagna

6.) I agree g62. I really like jenko actually, he just needs a bit more of a chance I think because last year with a run of games he showed a bit of class. it just seems le boss doesn't have a lot of faith in him. But yes for me Sagna is the best option and hopefully he decides to stay.

What is happening with Robert Lewondowski now? I know dortmund are performing better than us at the moment but this would show him, fans and other players some real ambition and also money talks and we would certainly be able to offer more in terms of wages. He is certainly a quality player. I know there was/is interest from bayern and Dortmund are reluctant to sell to a rival (sounds familiar) but maybe they would be more likely to sell to a foreign club. So throw 40m at it and test the resolve.

{Ed022's Note - It has been said, time and again, Lewandowski will be signing for Bayern Munich on a free transfer NEXT summer. He will not be sold. Even if Dortmund ACCEPT a bid from anyone, the player has his mind made up and will reject the move...}

1.) Please, he will not come here, let it go, move on

Hey guys
Well I've flown from Australia to London to watch us play reading tomorrow and my ticket agency has sent an email during the flight to tell me that they now can't get the tickets.

So I ask/beg any of you guys on here if you have 1 or 2 tickets (so the mrs can come too) that you are willing to part with or know someone who might, I will pay good money for them but I am desperate. this would be making a gunners dream come true. I don't know if I will get another chance to see them live for the extended foreseeable future.

My last trip 3 years ago I had tickets to the snowed out Bolton game so I'm feeling quite shattered at the moment.

Help a brother out if you can. Please

Hi guys,
Just been thinking about it a bit more lately given our frustrating performances. It may have already been mentioned on here and if it has I apologize, but here goes.

How about a change of formation to a 4-1-3-2?

To make this formation more potent we would need a great CB, a mongrel CDM and another striker in a similar (but better) mould to Giroud.

The new cb would be first choice to partner verm or kos. That pretty much goes without saying I guess.

The new CDM is going to have to be outstanding because he will be there purely to protect the back 4. I also think that vermaelen wouldn't be a bad option here as back up so that if the play does allow for it, he could get forward with his cannon of a left foot and not leave the defence as exposed as he does now when he bursts forward.

The 3 attacking midfielders could be any of santi, jack, arteta, ox. Then you've got rosicky, ramsey diaby as backup. That department would look fairly well stocked.

Now for the forward line. This is the area that seems to be the biggest problem due to teams simply crowding out the CF's and forcing us to play back and sideways. Play with either Giroud or the new CF in rotation as target men. And then play theo and podolski as second stikers. Those 2 running at you cause problems for different reasons. And it would also give the opposing CB's a little more to think about. More pressure=more errors. I also think that this would allow us to be a little more deadly on the break.

We seem to want to play free flowing tika taka but we never seem to get anywhere with it, so we just whip in a poor cross (ok about 1 in 10 looks like it goes where it is supposed to) and Giroud and maybe one other player in the box with 5 opposing defenders on them. If we're going to try and play this way, then play this way. Don't just whip in the cross because you can.

With that and assuming that Sagna stays we would have 2 great options at least for each position.

And I really think that having more players centrally would better suit our style of play.

As for the manager situation, I really am torn because I love what Arsene has done for the club, but I really do understand why other fans are angry because it is frustrating watching mediocre performances 50-60% of the time when we all know we are capable of better. So I guess with that in mind, I'm maybe slightly more on the wenger out side of things. Only because when wenger came, no one had really heard of him and he transformed the club. Who's to say that can't happen again?

In saying all that, I've got tickets to the Reading game and I'm sooooo stoked to get the opportunity to watch them play.

Anyway that my biggest rant I've ever had on here, so I'll leave it at that.

Thanks for reading if you bothered getting though all that.

Thoughts and opinions welcome.

1.) The formation would make sense but we need a hard man for the CDM position if we are to pull that off and the other striker who would suit giroud well would be walcott or jovetic if at all we actually are serious about him. but the formation won't suit out style of passing.
too many gaps between the winger and CDM. well with our current talent its suicidal. but if we upgrade then ofcourse.

i always believe if you have the talent go for 3-5-2.

2.) Aussie many people have been saying for some time that this is what needs to happen. When De Jong plays as DM it allowed Yaya to push further up. This is basically what City did to win the FA Cup final if I remember. They took Nasri off, brought on De Jong and pushed Yaya forward, and won. Spurs finished 4th last season using Parker like this. I would love us to sign a proper wrecking ball DM or put Vermaelen there. This is why we were happy the club sold Song - because we thought M'vila/Wanyama/Capoue were coming in.
Arteta is wasted as a 'fluid DM', I would rather see him closer to their box than ours.
If we signed 2 more CBs, moved Vermaelen to DM or signed one, and like you say shared the CM and ACM roles between Jack, Arteta, Santi, Ramsey, Diaby, Rosicky etc we could rest players more.
There are many things that could be done differently. We won't move to 2 up top because Wenger will realise he hasn't got enough strikers.
Someone tell me how Giroud plays a full game and Podolski doesn't even make an appearance in a cup game we were desperate to win?

That maybe true, however I also saw a report that RM had a 10-15% better chance if winning if these 2 didn't play together.

Could you show the Maths on that one?Not sure how you came to that figure. I can see a spend of around 60m and sales of maybe 20m tops including vermaelen.

I think there will have to be a cb as wenger himself has said that one will come in if verm leaves.

Big question is where is the game breaking cdm that everyone knows we need?

I am not surprised I'm just disappointed. Everyone has witnessed his class when he does actually play that I guess we are all hoping to see what he does with an extended run. I wasn't aware of the fact that he renegotiated his wages to be on a pay as you play arrangement and for me that really shows the class of the guy. I think we have to let him see out his contract this time but any more major injuries and I think le prof will make the hard call and release him.

Knowing our luck though, we'll release him, he'll go 3 seasons injury free playing for auxerre, get them into our champs league group and we'll finish 3rd in the group or something.
