Morning Dudes

Liked the look of Joel Campbell last night. Havent seen much of him prior to last night but looks like with a bit of Wenger tutoring he could be decent. It seemed to me that Olympiacos looked to him all game, as the 'out' ball, and as the attacking threat. Yeah he had a few hairy shots that went pretty wide off the mark, but I hope the boy finally comes to us for next season.

Morning Goons and Goonettes

Following Rosicky's thunderba**ard on Sunday, it got me thinking of some other beautiful goals we have seen, this season in particular. Three come to my mind straight away (including said worldie)

Jack Wilshere Vs Norwich - October 2013. The Gunners pinged the ball around at the edge of the box, including a tasty back-and-forth series of flicks from Wilshere and Olivier Giroud to go up 1-0 in the first half.

Tomas Rosicky Vs Sunderland - February 2014. Already 2-0 up against relegation threatened Sunderland, some flowing football involving Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and Olivier Giroud allowing Tomas Rosicky to break from midfield, race into the box and clip the ball over former team-mate Vito Mannone in the Black Cats goal.

Tomas Rosicky Vs Tottenham - March 2014. Within 72 seconds of kick off, Wilshere and Ox combine on the counter attack until the edge of the box, where Rosicky then unleashes an absolute worldie! Outisde of the boot shot, bending into the top corner!

Which is the best of these 3? Or can anyone think of one better?

Peace out you handsome Goons :)

Boogz

1.) Norwich for me. But wilshere didn't play against spurs mate

2.) Lol good spot Akie. Meant to say Rosicky :)

3.) I would add Ramsey's against Norwich, that spin on the wing, the ridiculous amount of fake shots in the box before placing it home was pure class.

4.) Ramsey against Liverpool in the 2-0 win at Emirates?

5.) Got to be Skrtel for 2-0 or Sturridge for 4-0 surely? ;)

In all seriousness though, Ramsey vs Norwich was football at it's absolute best, I could watch that over and over.

S'up fellow Goons.

Just wanting to talk a little about Ozil. I, like most, was completely stunned when he joined, I mean this Mesut f**king Ozil! The first half of the season, he fitted perfectly into the team looking like he had been there for years, and as we know he has recently struggled to replicate this form. However, looking at some stats gives an interesting read.

In the club he has the most assists (8), the most key passes (63) some 21 more than Cazorla in 2nd, the most toal passes (1404), and the most crosses (87). He may be struggling, but everything goes through this guy in all areas of the attacking 3rd. People seem to think he is lazy and goes missing in games, but these stats may suggest something different? i'm not saying he has been great lately, I agree his performances have dropped, but just found this interesting.

Peace out you handsome Goons :)

Boogz

1.) His stats for the prem league are impressive too. The team is not suited to him. he's a feeder the best in europe, problem is we ain't that hungry so his work that way goes un noticed.

2.) The guy is an assist king and an awesome passer although I wish he would take a few more pot shots as he can shoot (apart from penalties).

As soon as have a fast striker and Theo back he will tear the premiership apart. Giroud and no midfield runners make him look weaker than he should but I though playing in the CAM position and not wide had helped his performances.

Afternoon gents

I keep reading reports saying Bayern will be too strong for us over 2 legs. Admittedly they are one of the best teams around. People are saying that they are stronger than last year so we have no chance. To answer anyone saying that to me, I respond with. SO ARE WE! When we beat Bayern in the Allianz last year we were in a bad run of form, however this year we have been sensational! We are much better than last year, 1 point from the top of the league, quater finals of the FA cup, and last 16 of Europe! Bring on Bayern!

Boogz

1.) We always have a chance we are Arsenal not Aberystwyth.
Bayern are a excellent side and deservedly favorite for the tie but write us offin haste and sit out the QF

Without beating around the bush, we've been terrible for a while now so the last 2 results really don't shock me. We have been winning games playing poorly previous to them, and waiting, hell hoping that we will smash a team sometime soon and regain our former glory. It has not happened yet, but surely it has to turn around soon?
I see our normal faithful fans from this site losing this faith somewhat after last night, justifiably so may I add. However, this faith must return, just as Rambo is going to return, just as Ozil is going to return, just as Giroud is going to return. This season is not a flash in the pan, we are a different beast to last season, we are just suffering a dip in form.
Who remembers the Bayern result last year?!?! You know the one, the one that sent us on an incredible 2013 run leaving all in our wake?!?! Well you handsome goons, that game repeats itelf next week at a point I think we really need it. let's repeat what we did to them last year, let's remind ourselves how good we are, let's remind others that on our day we can be the best, let's remind the world to be afraid of the mighty Arsenal!
My point, do not lose faith in our club, and the club will repay this faith with its own rewards.

Peace out you handsome Goons :)

1.) Boogz, you god damn handsome devil you.

That's what you call a top war-cry.

As Delia once said "Let's be avin you"

Hey D_

I have had a little feeling about Draxler for a few weeks now (not that kind of feeling lol) that something is about to happen. A few different reports I have read confirm all you have said, and with his comments reference speaking to Per and Ozil, to me that speaks volumes. Shalke buying Sam and looking at Holtby must also say something.
He is in the mold of RVP to me. Will play out wide but with the guidance of Le Prof can become a master centre forward.

Heres hoping ;)

To the first reply. When you consider Higuain is a year YOUNGER than Giroud, then I would not be concerned whether he will impact Girouds development or not. Higuain is already better than Giroud, and with his age should mean he be priority in the development aspect. I like Giroud, a lot, but if he's not as good as Higuain now then he never will be. I pray we sign him

I think Marco Reus is going to be a world beater for years to come. He is so elegant and precise on the ball, I love the way he plays. In all honesty tho, I think the chance of him joining is zero. Would love it but can't see it

I am worried about tomorrow Golds, if we lose I fear the mental strength of the team will break. We see it year on year that losing a big game in a cup competition has detrimental effects on the team. Lose tomorrow, and I don't feel very confident against Bayern. However, win tomorrow, and we have every bit of a chance to win Tuesday. Tomorrow is massive!

Good post US, although I would play the team slightly differently.
I would like to see

Giroud
Caz Ozil Gnabry/Rosicky
Flamini Ox

Love the Ox playing in the middle with some direct running.
