Arsenal bid for Dortmund defender Sokratis Popaproppafabulos!

F-Gooner

{Ed025's Note - or something like that..

1.) So is that confirmation that they have bid for him.

2.) 29 Aug 2014 11:44:12
Ed arsene refused to rule out Falcao, is there any update on him? A better question to ask you is if there were any updates from all the agent meeting thing in Monaco yesterday?

{Ed002's Note - Monaco are looking to sell Falcao, Real Madrid are looking to buy Falcao, and Falcao want to move to Real Madrid. Meetings were held on Wednesday between Monaco, Real Madrid and the players representatives. Monaco set a price. Nothing has changed as far as I know since then. Did Arsene Wenger rule out Carlton Cole?}

Hi folks, I've spent ages reading page upon page on the new Cavani situation. Unfortunately i'm yet to find a source that's mustard (no pun).

Can anyone provide a good source that's backs up our bid, there is also a lot of conflict between whether its a propper contract or whether its a loan deal?

Thanx

F-Gooner

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

1.) I think he will be there for another year. don't see how they can sell him when ibra is injured for 2 months.

I don't see a forward joining our ranks anytime soon.

2.) What about falcao

{Ed002's Note - What about him?}

Arsenal Target Alvaro Morata suffers Knee injury in training

F-Gooner

1.) Well he signed for Juve Saturday so there is no chance of him coming to us.

2.) Would have been ideal for us then!

A newspaper reporting £5m per year (after tax) being requested by Balotelli from Arsenal.

F-Gooner

1.) Who would seriously pay that for him? no one! kid needs a reality check.

2.) Another bendtner in the making!? Wenger will not make the same mistake again I hope.
Performance based contract.

3.) That's 100k a week. Not bad

4.) Before tax it's closer to 200k per week

My last post until january, thanks for keeping me posted all summer, youve been on my home screen since the final whistle at the world cup final.

Great start to the window, good targets in the middle but quite honestly a CB and/or DM would have been less exciting than a deadline day striker but far more practical for our progress.

Well I never thought i'd be laying my head on a september night hoping Danny Welbeck joins my club by the morning. Goodnight all!

Thanks eds.

F-Gooner

{Ed025's Note - night mate..

So we are getting Danny Welbeck, wouldn't be suprised if united string us along til the last minute and drop us in it, especially after the TV5 deal.

Eitherway ill feel like we've been dropped in it!

Hopefully i'm forced to eat my words and he signs and scores 30 goals a season, but I've hoped a lot over the years including just this morning when we had interest in Falcao!

Dont shoot the messenger but apparently Wenger is boarding a flight to Rome for sum charity match he has interest in, but its the biggest day in our season so far?

Either he's combining the trip with some businesx, but who? Or his work is done, I mean I know he doesn't have to necessarily be there but to take time out for secondary interests on a day like today is ridiculous!

Ed i'm worried and on the verge of having a winge, we got smashed by 2 of our rivals last year, and although i'm delighted with our purchases so far, i'm concerned about our defensive weaknesses, is chambers expected to provide cover for 3 positions?

Eds I've heard we have intrest in other CB's but wouldn't we consider a couple from lower down the league at £10-15m a piece, experience and fair-quality available at clubs like swansea, everton, hull and so on? We can even add to our homegrown quota?

F-Gooner

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea what you want me to say?}

1.) 09 Aug 2014 19:56:48
I think DM is our weak point.

Wenger, by all account's is considering Callum Chambers.
Why not? He's young, athletic and defence minded.

I wouldn't have minded that lad from Forest, Lascalles I think his name is, but I believe he has gone to Fulham, who have loaned him back to Forest as part of the deal.

2.) F

I agree our defensive cover is short but I'm not concerned at the moment.
One thing that really stands out about this transfer window is that Arsenal are in total control of everything that has happened.
TV wanted Man Utd. Arsenal didn't want him to go there. The first time in years we have controlled the departure and destination of a player.
It's dragged on a bit this transfer. Why? I believe a replacement has been lined up and won't be surprised by the end of next week they arrive. Who? I won't even speculate.

3.) He has went to Newcastle Dags but has returned to Forest on loan. I too would have liked him.

4.) 09 Aug 2014 23:03:17
Oh yes, Newcastle.

Thanks G95.

5.) 09 Aug 2014 20:26:41
It's amazing how you put Everton in that category seeing as they finished one place behind us!!

{Ed025's Note - me too peter..

reporting Balotelli in secret advanced talks and fees agreed with club and player.

I don't believe it because surely we want a DM first and a CB if TV5 is off to Barca?

I hope its true tho, any ideas?

F-Gooner

1.) I wouldn't want balotelli. he's too much trouble imo. We don't need that. We need someone like jackson martinez or similar. But who knows, wenger might be able to tame the beast.

2.) No thank you

3.) After landing sanchez we don't need balotelli. rather sanchez play down the middle and try get a world class player such as reus or wait it out until someone becomes available.

Khedira, Pogba, Carvalho should be the priority now, and a replacement for verm.

Arteta can leave if we get a CDM, Monreal can leave if we have a LB in the pipeline or someone with some potential and Cazorla can leave if we actually get reus, other than that I don't see us making more than a CDM and CB signing and push on to the next season.

4.) Hi guys this story keeps popping up but think if we were going to sign it it would be done by now. Def worth a punt at though at his price

I hope he is only going on loan, he will be a class act with a little time at AFC

Clueless? Really? mate I understand supporting our team and players and I've been doing so for a while for example being a season ticket holder for the last 15 yrs, if he was even possibly going to turn out good we wouldn't be entertaining interest from other clubs, he's getting loaned for an advert not to be groomed for a future Arsenal FC right-back. If he played better than Sagna a season ago why did every Arsenal fan panic when Sagna left? Surely he would be even better now? Why are we looking for 2 players in that position, because he's not even good enuff for back up, I wish the lad well and hope he proves me wrong, but truth is he would shine more if he earned his corn lower down the table.

Ive watched the sky at night and wondered how some of those beautiful stars got up there, and do the same with jenko when watching Sky on a sunday

Jenkinson is a terrible excuse for posing as a footballer, he would stand a better chance auditioning for the next Hercules role then as a world class full back what a flanker!

So what if he goes to chelsea, our midfield is arguably pound for pound the best in the league, we don't need a player who thinks they are guaranteed a 1st team place because they are special. I would prefer he stay away from competitors for loyalty and to protect me from feeling cheated but truth is we need honest competition for places and I never gave my heart to him anyway I was never a big fan!

Get a right back FAST get some competition for the keeper and squeeze in a world class striker fox-in-the-box job done. Yeah we would love a good ball-winning midfielder but let's face it, since yaya toure reinvented that position, everyone else's game look like a girls attempt at throwing a ball
