With AW reluctance to buy a striker do the Eds feel this could be a big mistake to buy a replacement for Giroud?

Funkey Monkey

{Ed002's Note - I have explained already what I see the options as being.}

1.) The amount of chances we create even with Giroud playing proves we need another striker, only one who can't see this seems to be AW

Eds . With the rumours of Ozil becoming louder, do any of the Eds think he will come or is this papertalk and Ozil will go to Man U or PSG?

Also, after the result yesterday, What are your honest thoughts about signings?

This has been a mind blowing time for us gooners but glad we had all the Eds along the way to make sense of all the BS and stuff flying round.

Eds you make this site worth reading {Ed044's Note - Another Ed gave lengthy comment on Oezil yesterday. I don't think it looks good.}

Opinions on last night .

How do we all feel, Worried?

Yes, the first half performance was awful and if we play like that again we can say goodbye to any chance of winning the league

Maybe, Second half was brilliant apart from the defensive lapse to allow their 2nd goal.

Last night proves we need to but someone who can make a difference and can do it now.

Draxler would be great but he in injured.

Not sure if there is anyone truley outhere that can come in and hit the ground running but we need some players brought in.

Funkey Monkey

1.) There is no way I would call the second half brilliant. The reality is we only played well for 10 minutes in the entire game. We were extremely lucky to not lose so I am very happy with the point.
Wenger seems to refuse to change things when it is not working. A formation change or a substitute would have helped.
Monreal was our outlet but he never had anyone to pass to. As much as we need a striker we also need a left midfielder as playing Santi on the left is not the answer. Also without Ramsey or Wilshere we lose that creativity in the centre.
I hope Wenger has a masterstroke and signs two otherwise we will slip to at least 3rd.

Just a thought .

Whilst I believe totally in AW and the boys and don't fear any of the games coming up in Feb, the Pessimist in me is worried that our lack of a first class striker could cost us in the up coming games. So much is now on OG shoulders due to the lack of suitable replacement should he get injured.

Yes we are scoring goals from all over the pitch but at times we have lacked goals from our forwards. Bendter is doing ok and not sure why but Podolski does not seem to be back to 100%.

My question is . If we do not sign a striker during Jan transfer window and the Feburary games don't go as planned and we go out of the FA, CL and drop from 1st in the league, will people be happy with this?
I want us to win as much as the next fan but a part of me is worried we don't have the firepower up front to rotate our strikers when needed and there is too much pressure on OG.

Dont shoot the messenger but I am sure I am not the only one thinking like this.

I totally agree. I would hate to look back at this window and say "if only" and "what if"

2.) I agree, we really need another class striker.I would be very surprised if Wenger hasn't bagged at least one player by Friday.
Wenger has never let us down yet, it has only been the lack of cash that has been a problem before.
Now that we have some spending money, I'm sure AW will spend some more before the window closes.
My wish list:Draxler and Vucinic.

3.) Feeling the same, after the end of every season mostly every Arsenal fan has felt like the window could have been used more productively.

Hoping for another striker and defenders this window. And the good news is that Wenger has shown that cheeky smile we all know and love, let's hope he's got something up his sleeve.

Just read the morning footie news and saw a possible £35m + Podolski bid for Draxler.

Am I the only one who thinks this will be a big mistake if true? Podolski is a class act and once fully fit will be a great help in staying top and winning the EPL.

By all means go for Draxler but keep Podolski, he is a born winner and leader :-)

Possible topic for a vote :

Do you want a January signing to help win the league

Or

Do we wait till summer (and see how far we can go) and buy a truely world class striker and go all out in 2014/2015

Funkey Monkey

1.) Both lol

Totally agree with Code Zero.

The big name players who decided not to take penalties should take a long hard look at themselves. They not only let down their club but the fans.

Not a fan of Man U in any way, shape or form but you have to feel with the players who missed and anger towards any of their big names bottling it.

Think this shows how far the mighty have fallen

Don't deny that but was trying to make point that they completed the deal in less than a week regardless of how good he is.

We just seem to be turning into a penny pinching club that wants to get everything for the lowest price possible regardless of what the outcome will be.

Just look at the papers, all are saying what a joke our club are becoming to out lack of movement despite our war chaesk of £70m+
