Hey Ed

Diego, ohwayoo. he plays for Wolfsburg, he'll - well, nothing rhymes with Wolfsburg, but the Brazilian is a damn fine playmaker. The 28-year-old scored 10 goals and made 66 chances for his fellow Wolfe, resulting in seven assists. Diego completed 84% of his passes and won 68% of his duels, highlighting the fact that when he isn't creating, he can also get stuck in. With 43 tackles won and 124 fouls suffered, he is an important player to have stationed in the middle for tactical purposes, while completing 126 take-ons shows how dangerous he is with the ball at his feet for a prolonged period.

IS HE AVAILABLE? he's a Beast {Ed044's Note - From Ed02 on the Liverpool page: Atletico Madrid want him back but Diego is, for the first time, settled in to the Wolfsburg team with Magath out of the way. He comes with very significant baggage and would, in my view, be an entirely dumb move by BR. I am not aware of interest from Liverpool at this time. Lingering interest from Sporting Lisbon and Botofogo could attract him at some point.}

Just read it on a certain website that I shall not mention.

Arsenal make an offer for Edinson Cavani, the offer to be consist of Cash + Player deal (Theo).

The majority of fans will be aware that Rafael Benitez is a huge fan of the player and sees him as an ideal addition to his team.

Arsene Wenger has decided to play Cavani with Suarez up front and believes that they will be untouchable and therefore thinks the investment will be immediate.

BTW, Its easy to write crap.

Highbury Faithful

1.) You don't need to make a point - we already know that!

2.) Are you a spurs fan in disguise he has all but signed for PSG

3.) Seeing as cavani is going to Psg this is b*******

4.) OMG - read the post people before replying, the guy was winding you up! lol

5.) Oh dear you two did you not see the last line der

6.) & Diaby has been made Arsenal captain for the coming season. Along with Patrick Viera making a return pairing up with him in midfield.

Hello My Fellow Gooners

I sit here thinking to myself how can we piss people off and came to the conclusion we must buy Modric.

The guys got proven premier league experience, he's unsettled where he is at the moment and would be a great addition to our team.

1.) When Real Madrid quote us 40m euros plus and mess us about (a la Higuain. ) then what?

2.) Both good points lol

OMFG

Don't you just love being a Gooner? I can not imagine following another football team, although I have to admit I nearly purchased a family season Ticket to watch Brentford FC last season.

Why Brentford FC, because I recently moved 10 mins from the ground. I wanted to introduce the family to football and why not support a grass roots team who have some passion.

So, who else has secret feelings for another team for what ever reason?

Highbury Faithful

1.) My second team is wolves as a few of my family members support them. As you probably know it has been tough for the last few years.

2.) I used to live in Northolt/Greenford area & we used to go to The Bees a lot, back in the early 60's. Used to pay to get in then just walk around the ground & stand where ever we wanted. Think we had an Uncle that played for them in the 30's as well. I still look for their results. Still got a soft spot for em

3.) Um, well my 'secret feelings' in, ahem, football terms, aren't so secret really! Arsenal has always been my club but Dortmund and Hamburg also as I grew up there.

So I don't really have any affiliation with English clubs in that sense. Shrewsbury Town is probably the one though as they're about 25 mins away from where I live now. My twin's best mate's Dad part owns them or something, his stand is the pro-Vision CCTV stand. Still the person has never invited me to a game but ym twin who isn't into football AT ALL has seen them about 30 times! In the box, with all the bens. Unbelievable.

4.) My second team has to be west brom as my family support them and been to the hawthorns to watch them a few times, all in all a good team, good ground and very passionate fans

Gooner red

5.) Have a mild affiliation to Brighton based on my dad and his side of the family all being fom there. Been to see them a couple of times, once at the old Goldsone Gound to see them knocked out the fa cup on penalties and the other a 3rd round cup game at old Trafford I around the early 90s.

6.) Exeter City are a fav for me. You aren't spoilt for choice here in Devon and they're the best run club of the three. £19 to watch them though, which is tough since they're a bit pants.

AP

7.) I live in Grimsby so I, very quietly, follow the team. Bit of a sad story really!

Sally

8.) Because of where my family grew up, Coventry City, the greatest sky blues in the world

PdotY

9.) Arsenal Reserves
GG

10.) Have a soft spot for newcastle I really got in to football at 2006 wc andbecause owen played for newcastle I liked newcastle

Bergkamp5353

11.) Celtic and juventus. celtic because my parents grew up in glasgow and my dad got to go see one of the best teams in the world (at that time) every week for the price of his pocket money. and juventus as have some italian family and I loved their black and white strip. good post btw

Hamilton

12.) 07 Jul 2013 20:30:36
My other favourite teams are leeds and Nottingham forest as I was born in nottinghm and have fond memories of us winning the European cup and how the whole of the city filled market square, I also remember us playing celtic in one of the rounds and how the celtic supporters arrived from eight in the morning and drank the pubs dry mid afternoon they were happy days :)

13.) My second team is Braintree Town (Conference Prem), because as you can probably guess they are on my doorstep, give or take 100 yds. Arsenal are definitely still No1.

14.) Brighton for me. Moved here 15 years ago :)

15.) Crystal Palace would be my second team because of my dad went to see them and we have always talked about them but I'm glad he and my grandad chose to bring me up with the greatest team in the world!

Young Gun

16.) Second team has to be Yeovil, come on ap, I have lived in Exeter postcode all my life but just can't bring myself that low have to keep some standards

F. A. O

FLYBO, METAL, US GOONER and of course MALAGA

What can I say except in Wenger We Trust.

I seem to remember at sometime or another one of you saying Wenger should leave or his days are numbered.
It would be interesting to see what your opinions are now and please do not take this as a personal attack.

Highbury Faithful

1.) Hey there Highbury

I posted a similar comment below pondering the same thing. To be fair, it would be very easy to doubt Wenger and want him sacked after the way the last 5 years have gone, but Arsene is no doubt the best man for the job.

2.) I'm in the wenger camp, but admittedly i started to lose the faith some what last season. probably when we lost to the spurs and were playing sh*t, and when your p*ssed you tend to listen and agree with more negative posts that also express similar frustrations. i think i even posted "in arsene we rust" once. that was a bad day at the office.
it would be pathetic, immature and gutless of me to blame anyone else but me for my moment of weakness,
but it was champagne charlie's fault ;-)
that aside, i am a wenger guy for now, but a gooner forever.

# the lady doth protest too much methinks! lol
flybo

3.) Hi mate,

Well as we all know things can change in football overnight. I spent most of the year saying I hope we change manager this summer, and have based this on what I have seen from the players on the pitch and what I consider to be Wenger's hand in that. I have big issues with our formation, our lack of rotation, transfers, tactics, all sorts, and have only ever justified him being sacked by those means, rather than say being a petulant brat and insulting Wenger and hating him on a personal level in any way.

But, like I said, things happen in football very quickly. We're by no means the finished article and we've just witnessed one HELL of a manager merry-go-round. That has changed everything and for me that's a massive opportunity for the club to allow Wenger to really give this team-building project a go. Someone said on here once it would be a massive shame for Wenger to spend all this time building something only for another manager to come along and reap the rewards. I can't deny there is something in that, and whilst all year I didn't want to hear it, now perhaps it is different.

Considering our biggest title rivals have all changed managers, I think now would be the dumbest time in all of the last 8 years to sack Wenger. There is such a massive opportunity for AFC to capitalise on all the changes in the prem and across europe. We've got a real chance to add some decent players, build some cohesion between the players and manager, and take massive strides. I think we'd risk that hugely by bringing in another manager now.

So for me it's a case of Wenger do NOT ffff this up, you've been dealt another hand, damn well use it. I don't expect us to challenge next season because we all know what the team needs to be able to do that and we all know that won't happen this summer. But part of it will. As long as come the first day of the season, we're in a position that looks like a half-way improvement between finishing 16 points off the lead (or however many) and being genuine challengers after another couple of top additions next summer, then I will be satisfied.

Wenger knows what he has to do, and knows he's been handed a golden opportunity to show us what he can do. He knows ultimately it's all on him now. I would expect us to compete for a top 3 finish. If we finish outside the top 4, or only just scrape it, or spend most of the season out of the top 4, then his position should be brought into question next summer.

4.) In Wenger I Trust

And based off of what Tony Adams says, my suspicions were accurate

If Wenger walks, we are royally screwed. No other manager has such an all-encompassing job in the world. Not one. Anyone replacing them would be in over their heads

Like I have said many times, eventually, years from now, his name will live on long after Mou is an afterthought. 200 years from now they will know Arsene Wenger, not even kidding

Moneyball, big time movie here about America's most famous GM, Billy Beane. Billy Beane's mentor, Arsene Wenger. True Story

He is a Titan of the sports world

5.) US Gooner give yourself a round of applause mate you hit the nail on the head! Total Legend!

Trinidad-Gooner

6.) Thx buddy

7.) Also, everything in sports is about advanced metrics now

From footy, to American Football, to baseball to basketball. Everyone lives by it. Top teams across the globe hire top analysts. Math people to construct sports teams

Pioneer of advanced metrics, Arsene Wenger

He has changed the face of sports in the world

8.) 05 Jul 2013 20:06:20
Well said Trinidad. I'm one of th ones that hope Wanger stays wit us. Arsenal is Arsenal bcuz of Arsene. Funny thing is "Arsene sounds like he was named after Arsenal. Lol yeah.

Hair Doner crack was the funniest thing I have on here in while. It cracked me up.

As for Rooney, anyone with sense would know he's making a noise as he's been over shadowed by RVP since he arrived.

With Moyes in place he believes he has a better chance of playing instead of coming on from the bench.
