hearing talks of a loan deal: Lukaku to Everton for 3m fee.

Fee seems high but let's get involved in that conversation!

Matt

1.) Mourning doesn't want anyone going on loan to a rival. Hence us not being able to get Ba

2.) Everton can no longer be classed as a rival towards the top 5 teams. Sorry but true and even Mourino knows that.

With Klopp stating that he will be taking an indefinte break from managing, is he opening himself up the possibility of taking over for Wenger in the future?

What is the most recent speculation as to Wenger's timeline remaining at the club and could we realistically see Klopp taking over as the next Arsenal manager?

Matt

Arsene won't leave before his contract ends, and Klopp won't wait 2 years before looking for a new job. But to be honest, if Arsene brings us the premier league title I could see him signing a new contract and I hope he does.

{Ed025's Note - me too lemon..

Afternoon all,

Tough one yesterday, and I wanted to give it a day to let things settle.

First off, credit to Liverpool. They played well and the scoreline was deserved. After that unholy 20 minutes the wind had been pummeled out of our sails and there was little chance of a comeback.

My concern now, as we enter the most vital period in YEARS for Arsenal, really comes down to one player.

Where is Ozil? The heir to Cesc, Ozil was meant to be the savior of our Gunners. After starting somewhat brightly, the German appears tired, disinterested, lazy and not altogether that talented. I noticed a post by RyanP below suggesting a rest for Ozil midweek, and I would agree.

That says it all really. Resting our alleged "best player" for the most crucial game of our season shouldn't be the case.

Yesterday, Coutinho looked twice the player of Ozil. Little Jon Flanagan routinely outmuscled him. According to DM, he had just FOUR touches in our own half.

I know how good Ozil is, I've seen his skill, from Bremen through Madrid, but he is now a shell of that player.

I'm not saying its panic time, and I am thrilled he's in our side.

I just want to know what's gone wrong. Is he tired? Unsettled in London? It's not as if he's joined a mid-table side, were fighting for silverware, and he seems to have ZERO FIGHT.

Pease tell me I'm wrong, I just want to see his full ability.

Matt

1.) Matt I just don't know if he regrets joining us or is just struggling to adapt, but he hasn't looked happy since November time to me.
I think it would be good if we knew because if he is just struggling to adapt he needs all the support we can give him.
I'm not sure how popular he is with other players either so maybe he is missing Spain and his friends he left behind.
All I do know is he is the best player we have signed in years and I desperately want him to make it at Arsenal not anther club.
Form comes and goes class is for ever and Ozil is class on grass

2.) Don't panic. It's his first season. He's never played through winter without a break. Different players take different times to adjust to the PL, which is a marathon, not a sprint. In Spain, he would never have faced this consistent quality and work rate of opposition week after week.

It was a team effort to play that baldy, the entire team never got off the bus, except Shezzer - Özil was left playing too deep and too isolated to be at his best even if he had been on his game.

3.) He will come good and I really think he could go onto to be as influential as Bergkamp (maybe not the goals, but in terms of his vision, passing, etc).

Hey Gents and Jenny,

I'm looking for a stream for today's match, any suggestions?

Thanks, COYG

Matt

1.) Try wiziwig,
Usually pretty good.

2.) There's a stream in Colindale called The Silkstream. It's pretty fast flowing and very refreshing especially after heavy rain. Not sure you will be able to see any of the match from any part of it though (unless you can see a tv through a window of a house backing onto it that has one of these legally questionable feeds from Europe or Nigeria etc.)

3.) Download sopcast and open Wiziwig, great streams, great quality especially the russian ones.

Hey goners,

I'm sure this has been covered on the thread, but I've been away all week and haven't checked the site, so apologies if this is redundant.

Where are we going to play Ozil? I assumed he would take over the CAM role pushing Caz out wide left. But some disagree and see Ozil as more of a winger apparently.

What's the general consensus here?

Hope we get to see him tomorrow, be a shame if illness keeps him out.

Matt

1.) When speaking about willshere and ozil playing in the same team Wenger said he see's willshere as a deeper player these days with ozil behind the striker. Whilst some circumstances will mean he sometimes plays on the wing, my guess is he will play cam the majority of the time. I am now thinking it will be rosicky who loses his place.

2.) 14 Sep 2013 08:03:52
I think zil and Cazorla will rotate and swap during a game. But on the team sheet it will say zil CAM/CF and Cazorla LM/LW. With Santi being more or less two footed he will play on wing. Plus he and Monreal link up superbly on the left.

I'm ALL SET with Pastore.

Great player, but I'd take Ramsey over him any day at the moment. If Ozil comes in we really have zero need for him.

Dont know much of him, but according to US gooner (a contributor who knows his stuff) this guy is a rockstar and and could be a world beater.

Don't know much of him personally but would love to see him challenge Shez

I am growing tired of seeing former Arsenal superstars and legends associating with our rivals. The list is massive, and with Cesc I wasn't upset about him going to Barca, but to return to our London rivals makes me sick. This is worse than RvP, worse than Viera.

Fab was a legend, now he's a Chav. What next? Ramsey to Spurs!?

Matt

{Ed002's Note - You must be some sort of idiot Matt - players move from club to club. You think we should do away with transfers altogether?}

Schweinsteiger is not a defensive mid. He can put in a tackle, and is a wonderful player, but he definitely likes to get forward.

I'd prefer Khedira, (either) Bender, or Javi Martinez
