Hi ed. just wanted some clarification on something re Suarez. I heard an interesting theory that he could potentially buy out the rest of his contract at liverpool and then sign for us as a free agent with us reimbursing him the amount he paid them. Think it's clutching at straws personally but just wanted to know if somehow this was possible or what the rules around buying out a contract are? Any help would b appreciated. P. s love the site {Ed029's Note - It's bull.}

1.) How is that bull? Some kind of explanation would be nice, because in reality you can buy yourself out of a contract, that's what happens just for a scaled down example with carphone warehouse.

And I read about a similar situation, can't remember who it was with though, and this exact thing happened. The player wanted to go, the club was blocking the move, he bought them out and his new club reimbursed him. So why is it bull? {Ed029's Note - I have never read such bollocks mate.}

2.) It was Andy Webster mate {Ed029's Note - Rubbish. The Webster situation was nothing to do with "buying" out a contract nor with remuneration being paid by another club. The post was absolute trash.}

3.) If that was the case all transfers would be done like that why would Rm be offering 85-100 mill for hairclip if they could just do this with him C'mon think about it

i have been posting on this site for ages but since you have got people to register its gone downhill. I don't post on banter page I post on rumour page so why would I look on banter page?
and why, if I post about 10 times only 1 post comes up? not complaining but just wondering why things have gone downhill so fast on here? maybe arsene is running this site now that's why things are so bad. {Ed027's Note - oh dear, if your post is not a rumour it will not go on to the rumours page

Iv been putting some serious thought in2 which striker we need 2 go 4 in jan. It HAS to be Lewendowski. I guarantee for the price, you won't get a better quality forward. Opinions welcome but I think he can b got 4 between 20 and 30mil. When u think of how much other forwards of that level cost, there will b no better value in jan. Dortmund don't want 2 let him go 2 bayern 4 free, he has said he would play in prem, it's a no brainer. Suarez would cost upwards of 50 mil as would aguero. Benzema is now girouds understudy 4 France so why would we want him? I LOVE giroud, I love the way he makes us play, bringing our midfielders in2 play, they all feed off his hard work and it's lovely 2 watch. But seriously, if we want 2 win things we need at least 2 top strikers to rotate, and bendtner is not a top striker. U can see lew playing the same way giroud does for us which seems to be working fine. Podolski is more suited 2 playing on the left 4 us. I don't think people will argue we don't need a striker. The Manchester clubs are overloaded with strikers, the scoucers and spurs don't have champs league so they couldn't get him. why wouldn't Lewendowski want 2 come and play with our midfield behind him? If Chelsea show an interest it may b difficult but we are definitely in with a shout. Barca just bought neymar and I don't think real could go 4 Suarez and lew after what they just blew on bale. Sorry for the rant but I say we sign him and we WILL win trophies this season. And we all know wenger loves a bargain

1.) Totally agree north london but only prob I can see is will lew play 2nd fiddle to Giroud and vice versa?
I think having 2 top class strikers will prove a problem for us because wenger will never switch to 4-4-2 like liverpool or even Manchester United and city (to a lesser extent).
Having said that, with the talent we have in midfield, 4-5-1 is probably our best option IMO

2.) Ideally you are bang on but realistically if we show an interest you just know chelsea will get involved but you never know we got Ozil. Another player who could be a good signing would be Pato a lot of rumours about him recently but IMO could be what we need fast, agile, tricky and a good finisher {Ed002's Note - Chelsea declared an interest by making an offer in the summer.}

3.) I agree DG a Giroud apprentice would be good ( a toy boy for Flybo too:-)
Our first team needs are cb and a goal scorer but as cover and to learn the Arsenal way of play so when their time comes they fit in seemlessly

4.) Very true G62, maybe Monsieur Wenger has high hopes for sanogo, a young apprentice to learn from the master Giroud.

How would people feel about signing:
1. Hernandez (4th choice at Man U, different type of striker to what we have)
2. Mata or di maria (Chelsea have 7 players for 3 positions behind the striker, something's got to give, and di Maria may be forced out of Madrid when bale arrives)
3. Flamini (free and diverse)
4. Cesar (cheap)
I personally feel these 4 players can make us title contenders and are all realistic targets.
I'd even take moses right now as cover on the wings if we couldn't get mata or di maria, decent player, wanted him before Chelsea signed him.
4 of these would probably cost no more than 65 mil

1.) YES to Hernandez. I don't know why no one's trying to sign him. Personally, I think he'd fit in perfectly at arsenal!

2.) We are not going to be title contenders if we buy 7 players. just not enough time to blood them with the squad.

it will take them a month or two, and losing 1-2 games pretty much means the title is out of grasp.

title winning teams at worst lose 5 games a season. 1 down already.
