How can losing attacking midfielders directly result in more goals conceded?
You've had your first choice back 5 or 6 including Flamini fit all season,
You cannot blame injuries to Theo Walcott on goals conceded.

WelshBoyDave

1.) 01 Apr 2014 20:23:52
Because the best form of defence is to.

2.) Its quite easy we rely on possession football rightly or wrongly losing the middle of your team affects the possession

remember midfield is probably the most important and flamini has been injured and served suspensions for stupid red cards

3.) Lol well I guess it is april fools after all, tbh I hoped this was one of those jokes (for his sake) but sadly I think not!

4.) 02 Apr 2014 00:37:48
I hardly think jokes are called for guys.

Personally, I tend to think that defending should be the main concern for defenders. Obviously your right, attacking players will reduce the pressure placed on defence, but it's still up to your squad to deal with that.

I respectfully think we should agree to disagree.

I also think the initial point has been lost, someone posted that Liverpool have not had injuries, I countered that we have had considerable injuries and that our squad players have stepped up.
Be it the players faults, Wengers fault for not signing replacements in case of injuries, I don't know, but you have not seen a replacement for Theo or Ramsey come in. That would be for you gunners to decide. As dags gunner will confirm I've been a good bit of banter this season, wished you well when you looked bang on for the title and we didn't, and I confess I may have been caught up in the over excitement yesterday.

As I say, I think it's stretching a little to blame defensive fralalties on your attackers, sure they will absolve pressure but I'd argue that 90% of the blame needs to be assigned to the 5 or 6 players on the pitch who's job is simply to protect the goal.

Again, that's a respectful disagreement. And whether or not anyone chooses to believe it, I would still be wishing you luck in the league if you still looked like winning it. I do hope you win the F.a cup and break your hoodoo.

There, kiss arsing and/or patronising it's been called.
Call it what you want, I've not shown any respect to Chelsea, City or United fans, because they have shown none to us.

Ridicule if you like, TJ red called it spot on earlier. I'll continue to treat the people who have come on to the liverpool page with respect, with equal respect.

{Ed007's Note - Dave, this one's a special request...just for you...

Do you guys think Girouds problem is just burnout?
You started the season with pretty much 1 centre forward, if you don't include Bentner,
And by the way you guys slag Giroud off you'd think he was old Nic himself,
Personally I really like the player. And your team as a whole has struggled as of late, when you were sweeping sides aside in the start of the season Giroud was a big part of that.

I'd take him, for sure.
What's the take?

WelshBoyDave

1.) I think what he does isn't good enough. But maybe, he needs a rest. The guy has been starting nearly every game up top (from whta I've seen). Competition would help.

2.) WelshBoyDave.
I think what's happening with Giroud is the fact that due to our current heavy injury list and the fact that we heve been severely mashed lately we have all been focusing on where our goals are coming from. When we are winning Giroud is not that noticeable but oviously now he is.
Fact is Dave that Giroud once again was a shot in the dark done ok at the beginning but now he struggles
Not really his fault Dave, Arsenal should be having massive big name quality players not middle of the road.
It sticks out like a sore thumb now when we are short on the ground we haven't got the quality to make up for it.Thats it in a nutshell as far as i'm concerned. Giroud has been hung out to dry now, so to speak.

3.) Tbh mate, he seems a decent guy but I think Girouds problen is he is just a middle of the range striker.

4.) CTR. I think you are right mate and it is now showing. Hows the baby son?

5.) Hes doing very well thanks gold mate, got him home on Wednesday and fingers crossed no problems thus far :-)
Thanks for asking

Give Ox the right wing, buy a new striker and we'll have Theo off ya, unless you want like 'Sterling' money for him, 😵

Seriously? No Sturridge for £15 million and you cite bad attitude as one of yours reasons, yet you advocate Ballotelli for 'around £20 million' further down,
Madness, utter madness!

His total strike rate for Liverpool is like 31 or 32 goals in 43 games.
That's 3/4, I thought the mark of a good striker was 1/2?

He has his faults, but even this season alone he scored 21 goals, and that's with maybe 30 starts?

To suggest he's not worth £15 million is incredulous.

I come over hear for a little look every now and again, and I'm sorry but if Rooney had cemented the position he's had pretty much to himself since 06 then we wouldn't even be having this debate.
I doubt it's down to Rooney, but whether it's tactics or not being used to the players I don't know, but IMO Rooney gets a big 5/10 in a England shirt.
I also think it's a simple lack of options that's kept him there, until Sturridge back end of last season and this one, there's nobody who's even been slightly capable of leading the line,
Roy probably wouldn't have the balls to drop him even if he did have competition to be fair.

And he may have had the most goals during the qualifiers sure, but qualification wasn't really in doubt was it? Rooney or no Rooney chances are England were qualifying for the show.
He needs to turn it on against Italy and Uraguay, not Andorra!

Thought I'd add my 2 cents as a Liverpool fan and say that Gerrard is still the more complete player, as already stated Ramsey was hardly the fans no1 before the season began.
I do however agree that Ramsey can be as good as Gerrard if his form carries on.
