I did ask at the time as to what the wait was all about once the medical for ozil was done, well I have just seen this on the lfc site.
{Ed001's Note - not true, Ozil waited to see if United wanted him, they turned down the chance to sign him. Moyes didn't want him.}
interesting, he OBVIOUSLY only wanted arsenal because he is a gooner through and through not
1.) If we only ever got players that felt for the club like we do, we'de be disappointed. As long as when they play they give 100% then i'm happy.
Who cares how we got Ozil, we got him. Happy days.

Its so funny how "players who don't want to wear the shirt should play for someone else" this has been quoted many many times on here yet now guess what "we don't care if he wanted united first" are you for real. I am not going to say your fickle because we would all be the same if we had a chance to get ozil but its funny he wanted someone else first, hey I know how that feels willian didn't want us first choice then he went to them. as for jealous I think I am among one group of fans who really, really isn't jealous I am still purring over the SEVEN signings we made and that was a nett spend of zero so no not jealous more curious as to how such steadfast fans can change. it is a good job he didn't go to united though for all of us. as for bored as stoner suggests not bored I love banter keeps us going in between games. good luck and let's hope that ozil can handle the epl as you lot seem to think people from the spanish league tend to struggle in this leaguie or is that just for soldado lol

8.) Stoner, I am not looking to argue as to who signed the best players as that is obvious at present (erikson and lamela will eventually contest that). I did hear what all these stars said about ozil DID YOU because they could not believe he went to arsenal and not one of the big clubs. maybe he will return you to the heights you were but everyone seems to conceive you as an also run now, that's the bit through all of this that would concern me. I however think with the players you have and stay injury free you have a real shot at the title this year so good luck

Some players may choose a club specifically, but most are professionals, who perhaps gain an affection for a club after sometime.
We have been 'also runs' as you put it, mainly down to funding the stadium, which meant we couldn't afford to replace the quality we had as they left, especially in an inflated market (thanks to the sugar daddies).
But we are in a fantastic position financially now, so there is no reason why we can't recruit the likes of ozil and get back to the those heights you speak of.
We the have the stadium, training facilities, resources, etc. of a big club- we just need to add a little more quality and then we can really start competing again.
10.) With all due respect to ed001, there are many media outlets reporting that United DID make a last ditch effort to sign Ozil up on deadline day but by that time it was too late, Madrid were not entertaining any more offers and Ozil had his mind made up on Arsenal. So there you go dave, believe what you want, but in the end, OZIL is A GUNNER!
Ps: I hope pool is not up top in the table by winter transfer window, because there are rumblings that Suarez could still make his way to Arsenal!

Unfortunately like a lot of opposing fans and including a few of our own you fail to look at the bigger picture.
Yes we could and should of maybe pinched the odd trophy in the last 8 years but we haven't, what we have achieved was achieved with shackles on, they are now off.
Thus we are like Metal has aptly said further up, a sleeping giant waking up.
We are not the done deal yet but Ozil represents a significant start.
We have no guarantees of anything in the way of silverware yet but a minimum of 3rd and a piece of it will be a start. Then we will see a big difference again.
How your guys bed in and how quickly is the important thing for you but the race for the title I'm sure won't be the boring snooze fest of rubbish football playing champions this time around.

Well willians medical over at spurs took a long time as well perhaps we gave these guys the wrong directions or something. maybe we should use pretty nurses to entrap them at an early stage. still willian must have given you guys a bit of something to giggle about at our expense. well we can hate chavski even more now. unfortunately your signings will come especially now as I feel venger is backed in a corner. and our first epic battle next week should see the usual hostileries continued so till then much love

Very wengeristic that they will be like new signings ha ha but yes I also take your point. as I say with a fit squad this is the best opportunity you have had for years we may be rivals now but it could become even more intense as things go forward, north london will be the new football capital of england. I hope. I also hope that the rivalry doesn't get to out of hand and we can have some good banter
