I've never understood all this talk of selling Wilshere. Sure he's not our best player and who knows if he'll ever reach the heights we all want him to, but he's still a quality player to have in the squad. That he's Arsenal through and through is an added bonus!
They mentioned it in the podcast as somewhat of a joke. Unsurprisingly, a couple of sites/papers heard it and lo and behold.
£16m may seem steep but Utd were still selling to a rival. Had we been a club in another league he probably would have come cheaper, but as an English player going to a competitor, he's always going to attract a premium price.
I think what GoonerInk meant was that he's a valuable player to us and we're not in a position where we have to sell our players if we don't want to.
He's a great talent and I'd love to see him at Arsenal, but right now I'd rather see us bringing in an experienced forward who can settle quickly and bang in the goals.
Saying that, if we did sign Draxler and he scores hauling in the goals then I'd have no complaints!
