Partly educated guesswork and partly what I'd like to see from Arsenal this summer. I can't see Wenger signing more than 5 senior players with his views on balance of the squad, and there is little doubt that a GK, RB and ST will definitely need to come in. A midfielder seems likely whilst defensive cover may be necessary if TV5 leaves. I personally don't feel Monreal is good enough and would like to see him move on and be replaced, but I feel this summer may be too soon for that.

GK - would not be surprised to see one of the following for around the £6m mark: Marshall, Reina, Vorm, Ospina or Ruffier

RB - Aurier would be a great signing, especially if (as mooted) for around £7-8m. I would rather not see Juanfran come. Sime Vrsaljko perhaps?

CD - Only if TV5 leaves, and given Wenger's policies it would seem he would be keen to keep him for another year. Maybe a youth signing for long-term cover?

CM - Schneiderlin as long term replacement in the Arteta/Flamini role (particularly if Kallstrom does not sign on another short-term deal) would be great, especially if the Bender deal is dead. Given the speculation on CMs last summer (Gustavo, Kondogbia, Wanyama, Bender etc) it's certainly an area that needs addressing, however next summer may be more likely if we are to have another season out of Arteta (we still have Flamini) and were to, say, sign Kallstrom on a one-year deal.

ST - the area everyone wants to see strengthened ASAP. Remy I feel would give us a good dimension, certainly is a more affordable bracket than some of the other names mooted (it seems likely his fee would be less than £15m at any rate), and both his positional versatility and style means he would probably be able to combine quite well in a front 2 or a front 3 alongside our current options. Vela seems unlikely, and selling the buy-back clause to raise funds, rather than actually buying him back, would seem a smarter move. Benzema, Cavani and all the other rockstars don't seem to be the way we often go, as much as I'd love to see Balotelli in red and white!

To see 3 good players to come in at GK, RB and ST would be a hell of a start. Complemented by a midfielder and/or a defender dependent on players moving on. At this stage I would be a little surprised to see Wenger in for another creative player, although an out and out left winger (with versatility) would be a dream - although a £25-30m signing of the ilk of Griezman, Bernard, El Shaarawy or even the more expensive Di Maria seems a little like a pipe dream. Even so, 4 first team players costing the club around £40m mark between them still leaves the rest of these alleged mega-bucks to bring in Marquee Mach-II.

1.) A Backup keeper is must with Fabianski gone, pref with exp. to keep Schezz on his toes. Would Reina be willing to be no2 not so sure, Vorm or Marshall might be better bets and will pus Schezz hard for no1.

RB again a must yes I can see that Aurier coming in a typical Wenger singing for sure. Stephen Caulker might also be another sound option

Wenger has stated before that anymore than 3 or 4 singings can upset the harmony of the squad so expect no more.

For me another striker is needed pref somebody with pace as we missed Walcott's pace badly when he was injured. Again another DM a would be useful but I can see Wenger sticking with Flamini or Arteta for another season at least.

I would like another Ramsey box to box type as you can't exactly rely on Diaby coming back period and look how we missed Ramsey's penetration when he was injured.

We must not get into a situation like last season where 2 players are so key to our performance and effectiviness and need to have like for like cover.

2.) Fact: Arsenal will never ever win the league with Arteta as a starter, We need strength combined with a litte technique besides Ramsey, Khedira, Schneiderlin or Bender would fit right in, this is imo a more important signing than a ST, even though we need both desperately if we want to compete with Chel$ea, City and Pool. Guessing ManU will be a lot stronger next season as well.

I can rephrase the question if that helps.

"Were Wenger to leave would there be a realistic chance of going for Stojkovic?"

"Is his name on the shortlist, or likely to be?"

"Would Wenger have that kind of input on who the new manager is?"

Kinda just wondered if anyone supposedly 'ITK' had any news on it. Or even an educated guess.

If you don't know, that's fine, it's just my curiosity.

{Ed002's Note - I am only aware of the club having spoken to one possible manager and at the moment there has been no decision on whether or not AW will sign a new contract.}

Any chance of Dragan Stojkovic? (Wenger's 'protege' at Grampus)

GunnerFan14

{Ed002's Note - I cannot sensibly answer "any chance" questions.}
