Well Ladies and Gentlemen,
I haven't posted for quite a while, although I have been reading posts on here quite often.
Approximately 2-3 years ago I put a long post together about clubs being run like a business and the fact that they happened to be involved in football didn't detract from the fact that there was a balance sheet to deal with. I was derided (by some parties) as someone who didn't understand that it was all about success on the pitch, first and foremost. I then went on to try and explain to certain parties (the minority on here, you know who they were) that success does not mean longevity (Leeds Utd etc.), and a sound business model is paramount. Glory hunters are fickle, fans are not. You support who you have. I then went on to try and explain that once the debts were serviced or serviceable to a higher degree I believed that Wenger would start spending within the model. Again the anti-Wenger crew berated me.
This is not a gloat filled post (though it may come across as such), more an introduction to what I believed was happening behind the scenes at the time.
The two points I want to make are where are the naysayers now, and the current events prove to me that Wenger, a man with a degree in Economics, is not such a mug after all is he. I would love to see a few apologies from the supporters who voiced their vitriolic nonsense be man enough to write some supportive things to the club and in particular Wenger himself.
We are VERY lucky to have a manger like Wenger, yes he's highly paid (good value next to Luiz I'd say), but the foundations he has and is laying currently will be rock solid and 'hopefully' bring success to a club doing it the right way for many years to come.
One last thing, Phil Thompson, what a dingleberry.

1.) Oh we all bow down to you. Very clever.

What an irritating post.

Conceited and self-absorbed are the two words that pop in to my head before any others.

2.) Top post Chimney Sweep

3.) As I said not meant to be a 'told you so post'. I was merely getting annoyed with the Wenger out crew acting like spoilt brats 2-3 years ago, when it was clear to see we didn't have the funds to compete at that point in time, so I fail to see why you should be irritated by it? I apologise if the tone of the language came across in the wrong manner to you, it was paraphasing what I had said before, but believe me it wasn't meant to sound big headed. It is hardly self absorbed when I suggested that Wenger and the team be cut a little slack; conceited, how? In that I am proud of the club and what they have achieved.
You have painted yourself as one of the parties I was eluding to in the past? No hard feelings Chimney.

4.) No frog, I've never said Wenger should be sacked, and have never questioned his or the boards running of the club, simply as it was clear to see what they were trying to do.

And how was it conceited? Maybe you should read a definition of the word, and then read through your post. Vanity is a ridiculous thing; very difficult to see in your self.

5.) What a person. Talking as if we'd won the treble and the Champions League. Had Wenger invested before we would have won the league. He is a very good manager but we are always lack the right player somehow.

Think we need a dags comment drooling over Remy to calm this one down?

7.) 13 Jul 2014 18:00:11
Sounds like a classic 'raz' / metal gooner told you so post to me
I have missed 4 games at home in 8 years, pay a fortune for the privilege and think I am entitled to an opinion as are you I just don't shove it down people's throats kermit

8.) 13 Jul 2014 19:39:22

There's something very satisfying about watching Joel Campbell burying Man Utd. Fantastic placed finish. still not 22 yet.

So, who thinks this spells the beginning of Walcott as a striker after the Ozil arrival?
People screaming for a striker seem to forget that Ozil can play on the wings freeing Walcott up. just a thought.
Anyway, pleased with the signing, shows intent.
Have a feeling that there is another signing that we will know about in the morning.
Sleep tight, and sweet dreams, can't imagine what half of us will be dreaming about tonight! ;-) 'Cazorla feeds Ozil, who skips away from the defender and in turn feeds Giroud who slots past the keeper'.

Well it looks like our prayers have been answered! I have it on 'High' that Wenger is poised to make one of his most audacious signings of his illustrious career. 'el espíritu santo' TM.
Apparently Wenger likes that he is available on a free, floats with the ball, can ghost in between defenders, always treads the right path and puts in a good 'cross'. Above all Wenger has belief in him and he has asked that we all show faith in him.
Although I have never seen him I am assured he has a big following, but is known to be a bit of a trouble maker and can be divisive. Ownership issues have been raised before. The biggest problem for many though is his apparent invisibility when the chips are down.
I for one can't wait to see him pull on the shirt.

{Ed022's Note - Please God let no-one ask me who the Holy Spirit plays for currently. I might give up the ghost if they do...}

Kermit79

1.) To Ed022 I think the rumour is that the Holy G is currently in talks with Crystal Palace

{Ed022's Note - God, aka Bendtner is currently back in talks with Crystal Palace. Considering Chamakh was on £60,000 per week after signing on a free and Bendtner is shockingly on £52,000 then surely NB will take a drop enough to get him a contract. MC is on a one year contract at £45,000 per week to play...}

Hi 'Eds'. I posted quite a long post at around lunch time in the banter section and it hasn't made an appearance as yet. any ideas, or has it disappeared into the ether?

Many thanks. (No need to post this!)

{Ed022's Note - I haven't seen any posts from you Kermit, sorry mate!}

People really need to stop berating players still in their first season. Oezil has clearly got some fitness work to do, but he needs a pre-season and time to adapt. People seem to be assuming that playing in a team that had to play 45 mins and then relax in Spain is the same as playing in a team that needs to play flat out for 90 mins.
Keep him, attract the top players to play around him and start to challenge. Oezil's form dropped after Ramsey got injured, they understand each other, he will gel with others given time
I wouldn't pay any attention to Talk rubbish, they have as far as I'm aware, NEVER been remotely close to what goes on at Arsenal, just a group of Manchester United and Chelsea fans with too much time on their hands.Wenger wouldn't break the transfer record to allow him to leave before getting a chance to build around and work with him (Unless he was 30 years old). rant over.

The same Brazilian ESPN that is stating that Spurs and Liverpool are fighting for his signature!
I couldn't find anything on your rumour of confirmation.
If you are going to quote a source make sure that source doesn't contradict what you are saying in the first place. This is the first rule of 'Lie club'.
Anybody would think you assume that the very people who require a computer/phone/tablet and an internet connection to see your very post couldn't pop online to corroborate you story!

I was saw this the other day and thought how unprofessional it was. It does seem that there are a few in the media that are constantly on 'our' case. Darren Lewis spewing nonsense about Sanchez making the wrong choice, and don't get me started on Phil 'get a clue' Thompson. Both quite strong Liverpool supporters if I'm not mistaken! I have nothing wrong with Liverpool and think that they have a classy supporter base in general, but these boys don't half start to give people a bad reputation.
Phil 'in the no idea' Thompson, ha, what a chump. How's Sanchez settling in up there Phil?
