It looks like we could still sign Julio Cesar after is agent said that we 'remain a concrete option' and Gervinho could be off to Roma by the end of the week.

Apparently we are sending a scout to watch Bernard play tonight.

Red Sauce

1.) What a `Boy Scout`. better make sure he has his medical badge. it will save us doing it on Friday.

Steamin Willie Beamin

2.) Plus two Cubs and a bunch of girl guides

3.) Why would he be "apparently" being scouted, when a fee has "apparently" been agreed between clubs and the player is set to sign in coming days, the footballing world is bonkers.

Just seen that Bayern Munich are willing to sell Gustavo and that we are going to put in an £8m bid.

Red Sauce

1.) Would cost more than 8 mill

2.) 2 years left on contract and we have competition. Wolfsburg very keen on the player. I don't think he is our first choice but 12 should be about right.

Billybob

3.) Hopefully

4.) His agent told Gustavo will not leave Bayern. At least not in this summer.

Apparently we're close to signing a young Brazilian lad called Bernard for £21m. To be honest I know nothing about him, does anybody know if he's any good? Would he be worth that much?

Red Sauce

1.) Got potential. spurs were thinking they would sign him along with paulinho
Sw18gooner

2.) He has bags of potential and should become world class if he has the right attitude, very tricky and agile left winger

-YoungGunner

3.) Short and tricky player. Very good technically. Could definitely be a good signing. However, I'm not too sure whether he's a winger or CAM so could replace Gervinho if he goes.

4.) Im from Uruguay. I saw him in confederations & Libertadores cup. He is good. But, he is not what we need. Not better than our players

5.) He is quality.

6.) He's keeping the likes of Ronaldhino out of the Brazil squad. Has to count for something?

7.) Yes he is last post he is naturally skillful I mean crazy tricks not a good feint and a sharp shot! He will twist defenders in and out which is what we don need. Tell me one player in our team with his pace, skills and dribbling ability.

Not Walcott for dribbling or trickery
Not Podolski
He is more skillful than the OX who I rate very highly
Miyachi no
.
Gervinho No
??

8.) Him learning from santi would be amazing!

9.) He's too small for the English game, stoke would break him. {Ed052's Note - Bernard is a tough player, he'd be fine}

Has anybody else heard about Daniel Levy asking Real Madrid not to sell us Ozil?
I think it's funny that the spurs and Real Madrid have a 'partnership' that literally has no benefit to Tottenham.

Red Sauce

1.) By all accounts Levy is right devious sly man to deal with on transfers, every transfer he is invloved with he tries to put all these back handed clauses into hence why they drag on forever. He has no right to poke his beak in transfers dealings not involving Spurs to dictate who else Real Madrid can agree transfers with.

2.) I think 86.5 million is a lot when you consider how much we got Ozil for.

Overall I think we've had a pretty good transfer window.

Sanogo is only young and could be a good player in a few years, and he was free.

Flamini looked decent against the spurs and could be a good squad player for us, and again he was free.

Viviano looks like he will be a good back up and will challenge Szczesny for the starting spot. If he impresses we can make the deal permanent too.

I don't think much needs to be said about Ozil, a truly world-class player. This is the type of marquee signing that we have all been waiting for. I'm looking forward to seeing him play for us.

I do think that we could have done with another striker, a defensive midfielder and possibly a defender. It could have been worse though, just look at Man United.

Interesting to see that Mata isn't starting against Bayern Munich tonight. Does anyone think that there's a chance that he'll leave? I'd love to see him at Arsenal.

It's looks like we could be signing Suarez now that Real Madrid are no longer interested. Madrid aren't looking to sign a striker, even though Higuain is leaving, as they still have Benzema and they also want to give Jese Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata a chance in the first team.

Red Sauce

1.) I certainly hope so. If we are the only interested club, then am sure we can be guaranteed to get him.

Just read on tv Sport that Man City have agreed a fee of £22m for Jovetic. I thought Fiorentina wanted closer to £30m and that's why we lost interest in him? {Ed027's Note - They wanted £30m Euros and they've got it so be it in add ons

Red Sauce

1.) Im glad they signed negredo and jovetic. means they won't sign our targets.

higuain was better than either to start with.

lets hope we can land the better player.

2.) 19 Jul 2013 10:12:05
Higuain is moving to Napoli. along with albiol, callegion and diamio. they are going to be right up there in CL.

Didn't we lose interest after Montpellier said they wanted something ridiculous like £40m for him?

Red Sauce

I agree but I can't see Real selling him seeing as they've already sold Higuain.

But Ed didn't Valencia say that that the would sell Rami for that much? Also QPR just want to get rid of Cesar because of his high wages. {Ed030's Note - I don't think so,Yeah but they still are in a position to demand a fee of more then £2 million. }

We haven't even put a bid in yet have we? I heard that he would prefer to go to Man United anyway.
