Hello all long time reader my first post, I personally think we need some fresh faces at fullbacks Ben white is nowhere near top 6 quality, that game was crying out for jorghino with his thro balls how MA couldn’t see that is a joke, same goes for trossard he’s nowhere near good enough for us, I would try and get frinpong and get Ben white out of the team asap, I know I’ll get some stick for my post, hopefully we get a CM also to play Along side rice so MO has more freedom

Don’t believe our fullbacks are good enough either mate - we have a failed CD playing RB and will always come short against a proper Fullback when attacking or proper winger when defending. However Arteta likes his inverted fullbacks.

Probably should have rested the odd player after a very tough Alston fixture but to be honest thought we had enough chances to get a draw at least and would have got that on another day.

Not sure why Kai’s goal wasn’t allowed. Wouldn’t be handball anywhere else. Joke decision. Thought we could have had a penalty also.

Agree - paying the price for not getting Partey / Granit replacement nor a decent striker.

Not a disaster and team showed enough that we will bounce back.

Ode not having his best season….

Think Trossard is a super sub not a starter but way too many players who are the same.

Need a special striker for tight games like this and a proper partner for Rice.

{Ed025's Note - the problem for Arsenal sticks out like a sore thumb SY, you need a quality striker mate, all this tippy tappy lets play it like Pep is easy on the eye but there is no end product, now where you get one from is the problem, there are not many Thierry Henry,s knocking about im afraid..

Do we have the budget now to get what we need after last window.

{Ed025's Note - thats the worry SY, but if you dont get a quality recognized prolific scorer then i think your title challenge will fail mate, you create enough chances as was seen this evening but to win games like these you have to put the ball in the net, can you afford it?....more to the point...can you afford not to?..

We are a big club and must be run that way

They messed up last year ( only club to blow such a lead ) and blow the year before so this is it in my book…

I think we did enough - Fulham and Palace results were more costly. Any other day and we would have been fine. Kai, Eddie, Trossard, Jesus etc aren’t quite good enough and Ode is out of sorts. Arteta wants players who can play 2 or 3 positions. I want them to be the best in one position….

That's pretty disingenuous other teams have blown bigger leads, we were the only team to have led for so long and blown it, but we were never comfortable, our biggest lead was 8 points with city having a game in hand and playing us twice. It was in our hands, but also in theirs and they were the best team in the world and miles better than us.

Personally Zin is not a good fit as a out and out full back, love it when it comes into midfield but defensively he comes up short, this was clearly apparent last season. Mikel clearly didn't like Tierney and I think his ship has sailed. I love Tommy at RB and the rumour of letting Kiator go in January perhaps Mikel is thinking of moving Ben White to partner Billyboy.
As for out an out striker, I personally don't think that's is where Mikel wants to go. If we were chucking crosses in left right and Centre or played the ball in quick which we don't, I think Toney could be worth a try. I think it was Gunner62 who suggested Martinell in the middle with Saka and another wide. As for a DM, Douglas Luiz seems to be cropping regular but cannot see Villa selling or him contemplating a move. As for yesterday fair to Villa, Unai has done an excellent job, but if we had taken our chances we would have won comfortably.
