I believe the problem with this transfer window is simply down to one person who cannot keep his trap shut.
On the 7th June 2013 Ivan Gazidis announced that Arsenal had a war chest of 70 million, since then every time Arsenal enquire / make an offer for a player. Then the other club just increase their valuation. We had Mr Wenger and his team over the years purchased players at a cut prices, now they are going in at reasonable valuations and just being knocked back. List all the players Arsenal have missed throughout this transfer window and how much either the club wanted or what they sold for. In my eyes all of them had the price inflated, and this is simply down to Ivan Gazidis and his big mouth. If other clubs are happy to purchase over priced players then let them go-ahead.
I personally would go out and purchase DCM maybe a striker and keep the rest until the next transfer window, also release a statement that we have released 90% of the war chest to improvements on the stadium or training ground. Then next transfer window go out and purchase at a realistic price.

Supporters go on about winning a trophy!!
What would you prefer come the end of the season?

F.A cup winners and finish 10th

Finish 4th
1.) Champions league and relegated!
2.) Of those three, finishing fourth.
But it's a ridiculous question, we should be able to finish top 4 and win a trophy. The reason people lambast the '4th as a trophy argument' is not because it isn't an achievement, but because we are well within our means to invest in a team that can finish top 4 (or higher) and win a trophy, but we don't.
3.) Finish 4th, obviously want more than that (at least 3rd), but 4th is the minimum.
4.) I'll have the League title please.

I think if we qualify for CL, then Khedira will be on his way. If however we don't then Wenger would probably go for Song.

70 million war chest, and THAT'S THE WORST HEADLINE TO STATE on the opening of the window.
What a nightmare of a transfer window its proved to be.
We been linked to every available player in Europe and not yet placed our hands in our pockets
For some unknown reason to me, Mr Wenger does not like closing down deals early.
I personally cannot wait till 31st August when it closes, and I am not looking forward to the next one either.
I think we have a good starting 11 that will match any team in the Premier league (apart from a DCM), however my major issue is that we don't have any quality back up for all the main positions. (CF, DCM, CD and GK).
Who he gets I am not really bothered as long as they are well established premiership / champions league players.
