In all seriousness,

shame about Tim Sherwood.

I know he was Tottenham manager, but yet another English manager gets the boot.

Not good for the English game.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It is a shame, I don't think he will be the only to be sacked.

Big Sam and pardew could be next.

Agree0 Disagree0

He had a very solid record too. It's baffling to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

Big Sam, Pardew and Pochettino possible leaving as well go take over at Spurs. Wouldn't be surprised to see Poyet go as well. Heard a rumour that West Ham United will come calling should Sam get the sack. Lambert possible as well.

Possibly the only survivors from the very start will be the top 5 managers( if AW signs a new contract ), Bruce and Hughes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Choose more carefully who you work for and which job you take, if you start off and spurs and have Levi roots as your chaiman what do you expect!
Martinez has done it brilliantly from Swansea to Wigan to Everton learning and improving as he went along with the support of an excellent chairman at every step.
If you went to chesterfield or Stockport and got sacked after 2 games that's harsh but Chelski and spurs par for the course for a rookie boss if you ask me

so whos got tickets to wembly?

my first FA cup final.

My first final with arsenal.

my first trip to new wembly. (cant believe I've had the chance to go twice before. to see Stevenage haha)

not sure what my plans are but i'm sure I could manage to have a couple beforehand with some of the lads from here

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - you can have drink with dags...he will be the guy in the corner with REMY on the back of his shirt.. :)

That's Sir Remy to you Ed, show some respect to Arsenal's soon to be all time leading goalscorer.

(If not, I'm so going to get a lot of stick from a lot of people).

Agree0 Disagree0

The only Remy I want to have after Saturday is a Remy Martin.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2014 22:00:44
Di Maria or Sanchez?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 May 2014 22:20:50
Di Maria all the way

Agree0 Disagree0

Di Maria, every time, he is class.

Agree0 Disagree0

Remy for me.

Oh hold on, think I read it wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take either, but it's Di Maria, no contest.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2014 21:57:17
Is it Saturday yet?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - are you waiting for x factor dags?..

Is it this week your doing you stand up comedy dg

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol Ed, love it.

Mgm you love my jokes mate

Agree0 Disagree0

I do dg, the site wouldn't be the same without your jokes

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - your right MgM...it would be vastly improved.. :)

Gotta admit, you are on good form tonight Ed, respect.

Agree0 Disagree0

Saturday dags goes back to Malaga

Just saw a good post on Toffee's page, so i'm going to pass it on.

Imagine. Crucial match, eg away to Man City.
Giroud takes an obvious dive in box. We score from pen, 3 points in the bag.

Mixed emotions or as happy as Larry because its part and parcel of the game now?.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Embarrassed and if we won the league by those points I wouldn't consider us champions.
I want so bad to be champions again but not that bad

Agree0 Disagree0

Mixed, I hate divers

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - tom daley is ok.. :)

Spoken like a true fan, well done G62.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - dags....the "internationals page" on the main site will become the world cup page shortly mate..

Great, thank's Ed.

Great work as usual.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be chuffed, if nasri, clichy (or maybe sagna next season) gave away the pen and got sent off it would make it all the sweeter. Diving is part of the game though, if it reduces the boring tedious nature of aggressive football it's got to be a good thing

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2014 21:27:02
If you had to pick one,

1)Karim Benzema
2)Mario mandzuki
3)Jackson Martinez
4)Loïc Remy
5)Mario Balotelli

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - benzema for me AFC14...but i cant see why you have remy in that list..who the hell would vote for him?.. :)

Hhmm, tough question.
Let me think, 1), no hold on, 5), wait a second, don't rush me now, 3) has potential, hold on, it might be 'phone a friend' time, 2) is looking good, any chance of a 50/50?.

Ok, in going to go for a shot in the dark, 4) for me please.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - unfortunately dags...you go away with nothing..but lets give him a round of applause.. :)

Benzema for me, I wouldn't mind balotelli its just would he settle and calm down

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i doubt it MgM, hes as nutty as a squirrel,s fart mate..

Someones been watching the trip to italy ED! haha

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not pointless Dags, your not supposed to pick the one that scores the least mate :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, "nutty as a squirrels fart".
cracked me up, love it

Ouch G62, you lay off my boy Remy.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2014 21:23:30
Goldboy,

No Sanogo post's? Lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 May 2014 21:12:52
Eds,

with the WC just round the corner (that's World Cup, not toilet), would you be keeping the format the same, ie separate banter pages for each group of supporters, or are you thinking of having one 'England Supporters Forum'?.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - im looking in to it dags, and will reply presently mate..

What a great idea Dags, its only once every two years we get a chance to put club rivalry aside and unite behind our national team.
If you can pull it off it would be brilliant Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im on it G62..

I await my agents fee Ed, lol

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its in the post mate..

It could be a very smooth way of getting more posts on other boards by different supporters,

or could just be arsenal, liverpool and everton fans talking. like usual

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2014 20:11:15
di maria anyone?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm full of ideas me, I should be Ed's apprentice.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - sorry mate...we are looking for someone who is funny.. :)

Come on mate, my come-backs and jokes are notorious.

Notoriously bad, unfortunately.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you could be a script writer for the chuckle brothers, and the krankies..

13 May 2014 18:36:05
On the Sagna debate, he is 31, best years are past him, we have had him for 7 years, he is a full back, he would hardly hurt us. If he went to M City he would be a fill in player, I certainly do not lose sleep over him.

£110 k for a full back at 31, whoever pays him that has been robbed, fair play to him at that age if someone is silly enough to pay a player who isn't in much of a position to win football matches

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - to be fair to the guy, he has been a very good player BG, and a good servant..do you begrudge him a final big pay day?, thats just a question mate..

I agree Banbury.
Last 2 seasons he's been a 6 or 7/10 player at best.
If were going to improve then we need better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh no, hence my comment of fair play to him.

When you say Big pay day.I just don't get that, isn't he on 70k a week and playing regular football, when you get to that level of money a bit more makes no odds, all Arsenal players are millionaires . He won't be moving to better himself that is for sure

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i dont think players see it like that mate, look at rooney..

And his other half is a hottie lol

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair he always gave 100% and never let us down.

Agree0 Disagree0

Difference is ED Rooney if going to another club, you can't say that about the Predator, if for instance he went to City, he certainly wouldn't start each week

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you may be right mate..

Why pay Sagna 100k to stay?
Its his last big contract and his been a good servant to the club
A replacement may take time to settle making a title challenge next season a little bit tougher.
Arsene will only sign 2 to 3 first team players max per season meaning if we have to buy a RB its 1 or 2 max elsewhere.
We have 160 million in the bank and a 60,000 stadium charging the highest prices in football, we can afford it.
Reasons not pay, our wage structure and we will only have 145 million left to play with

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2014 15:28:27
Only just realized Kurt Zouma went to the chavs in Jan! How did we not go for him at 12.5 mil that is a steal

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 May 2014 20:01:59
I know right, Guy is an animal. he's what 18? Built like a brick house and 6'3". Next Lillian Thuram.

Agree0 Disagree0

For sure he will be a beast just can't believe we didn't go for him at that price!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You appreciate Arsenal cannot by every player.}

13 May 2014 15:24:38
Where has Malaga gooner gone? I may have always moaned about his horseshe*p rumours but at least his guesswork was entertaining.
He's still on a 0% success rate on the rumours, there's time to turn it around though.
Is he posting under a different name again now? Is he Dagenham?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lol, why does everybody think i'm Malaga?.

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul I don't thinks its Dag
malaga roumers where more acurate.lol
only joking Dags

Agree0 Disagree0

I think there's little doubt they are both one and the same, how else do you explain the whole Remy thing? Its the only thing that makes any sense
Sorry again Dags, I'm only joshing mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Right, that's another 2 people struck off my Christmas card list, lol.

(or Chrimbo as Ed025 would probably say).

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you tell them malaga..i mean dags.. :)

Ed,
You are suppose to stop this verbal abuse of one of your finest patrons, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i just cant help myself dags...you know the old saying.. never give up the chance to kick a guy when hes down.. :)

I make you right Ed, lol.

my ultimate dream team combo

Di Maria, Alexis Sanchez and Walcott up front. just imagine the pace and goal scoring prowess.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who would hold the ball up? That would give us a back 4 and 6 small but fast attackers.
People still don't appreciate the work Giroud does to hold the ball and allow the midfielders to score so many

Agree0 Disagree0

Great until we play a team like chelsea who venture no further than the edge of their 18 yard box and suddenly the pace is useless!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2014 17:27:54
Holding the ball up is a very useful attribute. But that attribute should not fall on the striker. Whoever holds the ball up should do that so that the striker and the wings are able to get into better positions. Usually strikers are the best shooters in a team so they should do more of attacking than holding the ball up

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2014 13:18:45
I wouldn't worry about possible transfers at this time lads. Wenger has stated it don't begin until after the World Cup so there no point fretting, let's just enjoy the fa cup final and the World Cup and go from there, I'm not getting stupidly worked up and agitated as I did last summer, as far as I'm concerned we've made progress, just need the finishing touches, a DM and a world class striker, which I don't see happening, over to you wenger, anyway 3-1 Saturday, Ramsey ozil and giroud.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just wondering if you managed to get any FA Cup tickets when it was at Cardiff? I went to each of the finals when we played at the Millennium just to watch in the pubs & take in the atmosphere :-) On the final whistle against Southampton I ran out of the pub got a ticket from a departing Soutn' fan & managed to blag my way in to see Viera lift the cup - you'd never get that at Wembley! How many of you fans miss going to Cardiff for the final, atmosphere was amazing

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2014 11:12:37
So all the rumours have started picking up pace now, I still wonder how legit some of these are? Eds perhaps you could shed some light please.

Aurier - seems legit esp if Sagna leaves
Di Maria - would be amazing but doubt it
Pedro - same as di maria
Sanchez - maybe

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 May 2014 09:03:44
Im not sure as to how far the rumours of Alexis Sanchez are true, but I feel he would be an excellent acquisition. he can play across the front 3, pace, work rate, stamina.

and I think he will do just fine in a team like ours, where we have outlets from creative midfields for direct play which he and theo will thrive on.

in that scenario, having giroud upfront is ideal, as it would give us a target in the middle and pace on the wings.

not sure about lars bender or javi martinez, I think those deals are not going to happen now, along with draxler. recent statements from players like drax, reus, bender state that they are more than happy at their present clubs.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 May 2014 09:44:02
I do not envisage any success with Giroud as our target man in any formation. Even if we had Ronaldo and Bale on the Wings and Messi lurking behing him, I still WOULDN'T want Giroud as the target man sorry

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not ideal, but if we are not going to sell him and we are not going to get a player who will make giroud a sub, then might as well improve the supporting cast.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2014 08:36:22
Has Arsene brain washed us into becoming his army of mini accountants?
While other fans hope to see real stars of the game arrive this Summer and let the club worry about the financial side of things we tend to look at fee's wages etc and turn our hopes to lower cost lesser talented players and hope they over perform and keep our books nicely balanced
Sagna will probably go to city this summer making them stronger and us weaker but at least we didn't cave in to his demands, should we as fans be less concerned about how much he earns and more by the effect of losing him to a team we want to finish above next season?
Just a thought?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't see Sagna going to City or any other English club. He wouldn't get a game, Zabaleta is a far better player. If he does end up going, getting £100K+ P/W and sitting on the bench then he's exactly the type of person we don't need.

Has been a good player though!

Agree0 Disagree0

In the real world it makes no sense.

Sagna's best years are gone. perhaps he has a year or two in him if at all, but to pay him 100k per week is a bit much, for our wage structure.

he will be a sub at city, and perhaps playing intermittently and picking up a huge pay cheque favours him.

I just hope he is replaced, if we are not looking to buy a better RB, then all we have done is weakened ourselves.

we need to have 4 CB's we played with 3 this year, and if verm leaves and we buy one we still need one more. perhaps wenger saw sagna as CB cover.

i don't mind jenks having a go, he does have pace and at times he does put in a good shift. who knows maybe he will come good, but security for that position is key.

Agree0 Disagree0

I see Sagna leaving and wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at a rival. He has been a solid professional for us. Covers a lot of ground every game. His one downside is his crossing over the years even though that has improved slightly this season.
As far as his replacement is concerned, if the rumours are true about Aurier then I don't believe we'll be disappointed. Read quite a bit about him and was suprissed how good he is going forward even though it has been written he does not neglect his defensive duties. He has played a number of games at centre half and was given the captains arm band. I think the Manager commented that he wish he could clone him. Young, strong, reads the game well, enjoys defending, good going forward, pace and scores. He is a Wenger type player, and if he were English he'd probably have a 20-25m price tag on him. Would be a very good buy.
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

G62,
Totally disagree with you, absolute nonsense.
Anyway, I have been thinking about our defensive midfield problem.

Jimmy Bullard, cheap as chips and only wants £6000 per week wages.
Agree?
(Tongue firmly in cheek).

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see Sagna going to City. Why does he need playing time? He won't be in the French side at the next Euro's and if someone offered you £100k a week to train and be a sub you would do it (especially if you're not an Arsenal fan)
I'm not going to hold it against him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dags you could be onto something there mate, Remy, Barton AND Bullard?
May be just to be on the safe side just take Bullard and Barton as they might fit in with our style buy Remy gel? :-)
Sorry mate couldn't resist it

Agree0 Disagree0

Terrible G62, just terrible, lol.

I bet Steven Gerrard was relieved over the weekend. I posted on the 26th of April how Gerrard had said that if Liverpool won the Premiership he was going to treat all the academy players to a Macdonalds as a way of celebration for the youngsters. What a lovely offer that would have been from good hearted Stevie. Now the kids will have to go without. Maybe if they do well next season uncle Stevie may be able to stretch to a Kentucky for them to compensate for letting them down. Aahh! Makes you feel sad doesn't it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My favourite 3 moments are GAZZA with that screamer pick that out seaman my 2nd BALE ripping you apart and scoring everytime he played you my 3rd NAYIM from yhe halfwayline in the cup winners cup stll makes me chuckle today

Agree0 Disagree0

Really valleyyid I would have thought you favourite would have been finishing above us in league 19 long years ago, my favourite was you selling bale and buying those fantastic replacements haha

Agree0 Disagree0

Valley,

The only team Bale had ripped apart is Tottenham, because you are crap without him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Valley
I will give you them.god you have a wonderfull memory,
My most memroble bits this season
1 avb being sacked.lol
2 Tim but dim sherword sacked

Slight variation from Detroits earlier post.

What's your 3 favourite Arsenal moments (That you can remember)

Mine.

1) Michael Thomas bursting through in the last minute against Liverpool at Anfield, 1989.

2) Graham Rix going on a mazy right wing run and crossing the ball for Alan Sunderland to score in the last minute in the FA Cup final against Manchester United in the last minute (1979).

3) 1998 at home to Everton.
Tony Adams goes through in the last minute and hits an absolute beauty and we win the league.
Brought tears to my eyes.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree with 1 and 3 Dags but would have to say King Thierry Henry cutting through the spurs defence from the halfway line like then wernt there beating 3-4 players and scoring was up there for me.

Cant remember what year off my head but I know you all know the game I mean

Agree0 Disagree0

That Bergkamp goal against Newcastle!

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately I'm too young to remember those moments, so mine are;

1. Henry vs united 2000, that flick and lob over bartez.

2. Bergkamp vs Newcastle 2002. Enough said.

3. Van nistlerooy penalty miss when keown starting jumping on him.

Agree0 Disagree0

@Gavsta remember Cesc walking through the spurs as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Picking some less obvious moments

Home leg of the cup winners cup semi final against sampdoria. 1 of the best atmospheres at a game I can remember.

Andy Linighans last minute header in the 93 cup final replay. Especially after he had his nose broken earlier in the game.

Sylvain Wiltords winner at old Trafford to win the league

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to say DG. that's a brilliant top 3. would be mine as well.Who can forget Alan Sunderlands face after he scored. and even better, my neighbour at the time was a Manchester United fan, who came and knocked on our window to mock when Manchester United scored both goals. so I am sure you can imagine how we enjoyed that winner!

Agree0 Disagree0

I was sat 3 rows from front, with the Utd. supporters (including my brother) when Wiltord slid on his knees right in front of me after the goal - Best feeling ever :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Gd question that Dags.

Mine would have to be Giggs mazey run after a Vieira sloppy pass.

RVN banging that pen a season after being assulted by your players.

And finally the 6-1 when Yorke scored a haul.

Hmmm. I feel I may of misread the question :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you Epping.

Hello Chris mate, yes I think you misunderstood the question mate, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was also at Old Trashford when they beat us 6-1, sitting with my younger brother (Arsnl fan) among the mancs and my older brother sitting behind us at the back of the stand. When we equalized, I jumped up & gestures 1-1 to my brother, forgetting there was about 8,000 between us! When they got the second that 8,000 ugly mancs where screaming at us - then I realized what i'd done - they must have thought I had a death wish or was some hard nut case! Lucky for me we got thrashed & I'm alive to tell the story AND then witness us beating them with Wiltord's goal :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2014 23:31:37
Dags. The answer to your question yesterday regarding Sagnas comment was that there was a picture posted on twitter I believe, of Nasri lifting the Premiership trophy and Sagna commented ' Lucky you' .
Take the comment as you like was Sagna having a snidey dig at Arsenal for not winning it or was he just being genuine? . Who knows.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks Gold's,

I didn't see it. Not a nice comment to make but maybe it was taken out of text.

Thank's for the info mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe it was. Probably was to be honest. Someone wanted to make more of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Was that it! Not being funny but you'd hope to be hung for a slightly worse crime, like taking a library book back a date late or something.
More to do with bitterness of him not signing a contract than what seems like a perfectly normal statement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gunner62. Yep that was it mate. But he more than likely said it quite innocently. "Lucky you" like anyone would say "well done." But there you go . What can I say?

Agree0 Disagree0

What if sagna had actually said in french "you're lucky!" (cause we were winning)

and a mistranslation or even a slight different in culture/french phrasing

made it come out as "Lucky you" (i didn't get anything)

Agree0 Disagree0
