Great week for the premier league clubs in Europe, 2 of the 3 champions league sides all but through to the quater finals with Spurs with a great chance to progress too although still have a lot to do.
Plus we look almost certain to progress in the knock out stages in Europe for the first time in 9 seasons, ok it's not the champions league where we'd all like to be and progress but given the chioce I'd rather have Europa league progression than endless champions last 16 participation that ends with in predictable fashion.
I think long term a period in Europe's second tier competition will prove to have done more good than harm for us.

Decent result tonight.

Job done.

Ooh, and we have a GK who can save a pen.

When he saved the pen, my Jaw dropped! Miracles do happen!

Do you guys think Wenger will play a weaker team for the return leg so that he can field the strongest team for the Carnivorous Cup final?

Catch 22 in my opinion MKD mate, because we don't play again until the return leg it's the only opportunity to get the players game time before the final but equally you'd like the players fresh as possible to face city.
11 days is a long time in between games and in my opinion not the best preparation to face the best side in the country, as we all know a sluggish start could see us blown away inside the first 10 minutes and there simply is nothing known to man like an Arsenal sluggish start when they happen :-)

Gives us chance now to not have to take unnecessary risks with players in the second leg ahead of the final against City, but having said that the return leg is our only game between now and the city final so it will be a tricky balance between having the players fresh but not out of match practice on the 25th at Wembley.

Just been reading up on Ostersund
This could be a big banana skin people. We have had one in the Fa Cup this season don't think i could handle another one. Rumours are Nketiah is going to get the nod ahead of Wellbeck. don't really know what to make of that.

That’s a positive his good and Welbeck will get injured on a 4g pitch 100%.

I believe synthetic pitches should be banned for competitive matches. I had the misfortune of playing on Luton's synthetic pitch back in the day and it was atrocious, stitched together in places and full of sand, which sprayed into your eyes as the ball come of the deck. I know the modern pitches are far better, but competitive football should be played on grass. I will be pleased if we manage a win and return without injuries. A good win would be useful, to enable us to rest key players before the cup final.

I think that’s a really good shout clockend. It must be factor.

In extremes of temperature, not really possible to rely on 'real' grass RG. Teams struggle in this country with real grass and we don't have the weather that they do there.
