Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

30 Aug 2014 23:36:13
After a little investigation dags claims that we actually, really, might, actually, really, sign him I can now make an unconfirmed claim that in a true arsene wenger style transfer, arsenal will sign remy as arsene see, s him as a natural goal keeper! Lol!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2014 09:21:38
You could be correct Rick :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 22:43:56
1) If I was Remy I'd be giving Arsenal the middle one.

2) Eds any idea how Costa failed to impress our scouts? I'll admit I wasn't expecting him to do well in the Prem I act thought he'd flop but scouts are supposed to be experts! If it's "doesn't suit the arsenal style of play" as I read in January, then those boys have to be sacked. It seems like complete incompetence to me

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed027's Note - Chelsea had costa in the bag for a while mate, there's no way we were going to get him. Also costa had some very average performances for club and country. Soldado was a machine in Spain and now not so much. If scouts did say that, they must Of had some good reasoning

Hardly commented on here so first of all hi everyone I check daily but that's normally as far as it goes, . Why would you give arsenal the middle finger when you know there first choice striker is injured and you would have a pretty much defo starting place or he could go to Chelsea and warm the bench like Torres did as Costa is on fire??

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2014 00:22:21
Temple , because we have dicked around with him all summer! He said he wanted to join and we say okay but your last choice! That's why!

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2014 02:05:12
Temple. He's been courting Arsenal for months and we've given him the stinktail.

Now we have no other choice but to sign someone we're coming along at the very last minute after he's agreed terms with Chelsea (Redknapp confirmed it in pre match)

Why should he? The only thing saving the deal for us is that he's bound to get 4 months of 1st team football.

I know all that ed. It's dodgy taking goalscorers from La Liga and expecting them to preform in Prem but a straight pass by expert scouts? Seems bad form

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed027's Note - I don't know about scouts passing up on him tbh, but he started coming real good last season, and 'apparently' Chelsea had a deal done come January, I remember reading rumours Atletico told us and many other teams he was going elsewhere

We could have had Remy about 4 years ago along with M'Vila, it may even be a bit longer than that. But we messed about then when the guy was younger and fitter. But in saying that I don't think that most players hold a grudge against a team I believe they just want to play.

Sheeny
Early days,i watch him a good few times, and he wasnt one I would have been pleased with.
Fab was good yesterday ,has slipped back into the premiership like he never left.Missed a trick not getting him back,

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2014 08:49:59
I remember us looking at him a couple of Windows ago, but the asking price was too much. It was just after Falcao moved, they weren't going to sell him for less than his release clause and he hadn't done enough to command that kind of fee. Then, he started the season superbly and just kept going. Chelsea moved in and the rest was described by ed previously.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2014 09:40:20
Talking about Costa there. We were looking at him, so we're Liverpool. So, the scouts did their job identifying him but, we weren't in a position to cough up the asking price.

Remy Remy Remy.

Woohoo.

Happy Dag's.

(But why wait until Chelsea have basically signed the player before stepping in)?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We got our present early dags mate remy remy remy

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 22:56:11
Wishfull thinking dags!
And did you realise it actually takes 3 attempts to type dags with auto correct allways changing it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I don't get it i'm confused. Ed any clarity over what's actually happening with Remy, is it literally Chelsea submitted a bid & then we did?

If so, why the hell did we wait so late.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed027's Note - guess so and your guess is as good as mine

Has Remy signed then?

I am struggling to see anything in the media

whhhhhoooooopppppp

wwwhhhhhooooopppppp

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2014 00:11:17
Agree Maids.

Rick, if you type Sir Dag's autocorrect works better :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I can only assume he was a pretty much last resort and other targets weren't available. Otherwise we would have gone for him earlier.

Or, as Wenger said, we have too many strikers; we'll only buy one of one leaves. Maybe someone has put in a bid for a striker of ours, and we're signing remy for that reason.

Either way, not the quality I'd have hoped for, he's only good enough to be a back up for a top team IMO, but worth a punt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dags for me its his agent.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 22:39:53
We only have to play chavs 2 twice and raise our game once, same with city not easy but achievable to finish all square.
The other 34 games is where all is won and lost, city are the first to slip on a banana skin, oooops only got two life's remaining for them

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Aug 2014 23:15:33
To true g62,

The way some have been going on I thought the season was going to be scrapped and Chelsea were doing the open top bus parade tomorrow with the Premier League trophy.

Roll on City on the 13th, unlucky for them!

Agree0 Disagree0

RD 81

No one has said Chelsea will win the league just that they look very good

MUCH better than us if being honest and realistic.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2014 09:26:38
Of course they look good Banbury, as City do even after yesterday but our window is not finished yet and I believe we have more about us and will add some more quality, outside of Remy if indeed he does arrive.

Sorry mate but I just feel positive about this season. We are in with a great shout.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reds I hope you are right mate, I just always have the feeling we don't just do enough in the transfer window, we always get 80% of the way.

You do have to ask the question why did we sell Jenks?

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 21:33:55
Question for Dr Greeny.

I only do a wee once every 7 days.

Do I have a week bladder?

Louis Van Flatface's 3-5-2 formation is working.

3 games played
5 goals scored/conceded
2 points won.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Aug 2014 22:47:19
Love it Dags! That's one for all my frenemies! Just hope Arsenal gain some momentum so I don't fall flat on my own face

For dags

How do you know you're reading the paper upside-down?

United are top of the table :P :P

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Aug 2014 21:57:35
Love it Sheeny.

Little kid selling newspapers outside a train station.

Shouts "Extra, extra, read all about it. 5 men swindled".

Man walks up and buys paper, reads it and goes back to the kid saying, " just read it, there was nothing about 5 men being swindled".

Kid shouts out, "Extra, extra, read all about it, 6 men swindled".

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 22:48:14
And here I was thinking you'd turned a corner after that 3-5-2 joke. oh well :P

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 23:04:50
I like to balance it up mate.

One good joke, one bad joke :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 19:30:25
Chelsea have just showed how far we are behind them, they demolished Everton at Goodison Park 6-3.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Aug 2014 21:38:08
Trying hard to be optimistic, but difficult when you see Chelsea play like that.

I posted the other day, that Chelsea have found the missing piece to their jigsaw(Costa).

Frightening.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton scored to early goals with us and sat behind the ball

Chelsea done exactly the same to them and then when Everton went for the equalizer they got hit on the counter

We play attacking football which leaves us open and team park the bus against us

Chelsea play counter football so they welcome teams like us to attack them and then catch us you can't judge it on the same opponent. Especially with the EPL different teams are suited and that's why you get block buster games look at City Liverpool and then city today against a team that defends well

On paper yes Chelsea have a monster team but watching the game Everton were poor defensively and Chelsea concided 3 goals with everyone back so there's some shocks to come

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as Chelsea were good Everton were defensivly awful.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i totally agree rocky..

30 Aug 2014 22:35:58
For me, Chelsea have not been a major threat since Drogba left.

With Drogba leading their attack they won 3 league titles, 4 FA Cups, 2 League cups and Champions league.

They have never replaced him, until now, with Costa, who is just an out and out striker, like Drogba use to be.

Early days, but I fear them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Costa looked brilliant, an even better buy than Cesc.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2014 06:05:28
As poorly as we played at Goodison, their 2nd goal should not have counted (offside and foul by Lukaku on Per). So, with better refereeing, we may well have taken 3 points from Goodison without even playing well. Chelsea certainly look good, but we have a lot of improvement in us and we are still getting the results. Imagine when we fire on all cylinders! COYG

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 19:09:00
Remy done deal! What are we doing
Are we really going in to the season with ONLY SANOGO as our striker!?
Reading we are linked with and interested with everybody and doing nothing!
I do hope we buy 3 players by Monday We need a striker, midfielder and a defender,
What is wenger doing!? Please tell me!?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Aug 2014 23:05:43
Its a worry mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 17:48:58
Falcao now linked strongly with M City . surely not, what a strike force they would have.

Just a rumour but what a difference between the choices they would compared with ours, its bad enough at the minute

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Aug 2014 19:01:25
You sound like you badly need the Samaritans fella

Agree0 Disagree0

So will you if we defend like we did last year, only difference is we have less defenders this time around lol

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 16:42:26

Real Madrid. Can't see anywhere else tbh

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed030's Note - Me too, High wages and high Loan fee. Money I can only see a Real Madrid or Man City paying but City aren't in need for another top class striker imo. }

Domino effect. Wonder if benzema will be left out of Madrids team tomorrow?

Still all quiet on the Arsenal front tick tock

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Remy, 1 goal every 2 games for average teams.

Torres, 1 goal every 5.5 games for Chelsea.

That's Jose just taking a piece of the puzzle off the board mate. Wengers move.

30 Aug 2014 19:15:16
I do want a striker but to me a dm must be done first. I know giroud is out but can you guys see us struggling for goals with Rambo ozil Sanchez theo pod. We do need another cf. But surely dm must be a priority

Agree0 Disagree0

Bang on Dags

An average player for average teams, always playing against poor opposition :) x

Agree0 Disagree0

Alex Song - Arsenal to Barcelona to West Ham. Where as it all gone wrong Alex?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He was never that good for arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 17:39:43
Think afew hollywood assists disguised his overall very average play. £15m for him then we get Flamini for free who is better in CDM role. Great business there Arsene :)

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 19:16:32
I've always said on here when people bring up getting him back that he was a liability defensively and only last season or 2 was making some good assists. Which we have plenty of people who can do that now

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 14:59:56
Just think lads. It could be worse, we could be Manchester United. Great start to the weekend.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Negotiations in advanced stages for William Carvalho & Toby Alderweireld. An remote chance of Cavani. If Cavani is signed, Campbell and Podolski may be sold to help fund the deal.

Some say that you shouldn't go round to his house for Christmas lunch unless you enjoy the great taste of seagull. And that in the Autumn, all his arms go brown and fall off. All we know is, he's called Ed002.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its also been said he once cut down a whole rain forest with one quip
And he's banned in most counties beginning with K

If he raises his finger in the air, he picks up tv for free.
He doesn't need to fly to Dubai, he blinks and teleports himself within a millisecond.
He once beat Chuck Norris in a fight, just by reciting Baa Baa Black Sheep.
To Clint Eastwood, he is the man with no name, but to us he is Ed002, aka the rumour Grim Reaper.

Couple of funny ones there tb and g62

337,

That was my joke, I posted that 3 weeks ago, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 13:40:19
He looks under major pressure already, I doubt that utd would be mad enough to sign a player that can't play, are they really that desperate?

Maybe scholes and Giggs need to dust off their boots again

Agree0 Disagree0

No Dags the judges on joke box jury have no recollection of the joke in question ever being posted by you or any of your many Guise's ever before and find in favour of 337 and you guilty of attempted plagiarism, case dismissed

i know we done some business early this year, but you never know, we could be surprised again on deadline day like we were last year when ozil signed.
it might sound like wishful thinking but if we are in negotiations with players wenger ain't going to name the players

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Aug 2014 10:12:54
I can't see Wenger spending millions of pounds on a 1-year-loan for Falcao. A player whose mind is said to be already in Madrid.

If we sign somebody I can see a player like Alexandre Lacazette arriving. Young and french, typical Wenger signing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm not sure who French is Stefan but I certainly don't want Ashley Young

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - you must be another one who has been spending to much time with Ed025. Everyone has become a comedian on this page. Haha}

Fun is by far the best thing to have Ed018 mate, others may be have big name signings and may well finish above us and even go further than us in w the CL, but you have to ask yourself ARE THEY HAPPY :-)
Ed025 is our signing of the decade and he only cost us 12 kebabs and a Cheesecake, bargain by anyone's standards

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 09:54:44
Unless wenger has deals all in place for players I
Can't see us bringing any more in gutted

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ozil move was finalised on the deadline day. So don't lose hope!

Agree0 Disagree0

WW I am not sure what's with you and buying players, all I hear you do is rant on this page abt our lack of signings and who shld be signed. Why not go over to the chelsea or utd page that might make u happy, Than listen to your rent every 2-3 posts

Agree0 Disagree0

Glued like fish? I believe he will bring in players but there's no need to mutilate them before they arrive. Our injury table is full enough!

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks lads, feel if I post my result each week be it good or bad it might give me that extra incentive when I feel weak on my diet days, there's nothing like a bit of public humiliation to help fight the flab is my thinking :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't worry boys . My mother in law stepped on one of those ' I Speak Your Weight' machines the other week.
The machine said.
" One at a time please ladies"

I'm not saying she's fat! But she has just got a job at the airport kick starting the planes.

She had her waist measured the other day and it was 'Equator'

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 09:41:12
Eds, especially Ed002, as you're constantly being asked ridiculous questions, perhaps you can help with one that keeps me awake most nights. That is, if all life is relative, what is the concept of being?

Everybody else, patience my friends! Ed002 the miserable git/funny funkster has told us who we're looking at and assuming he's not in the negotiating room with Arsene, that's about as much as he can help at the moment. Badgering him about Falcao's favourite breakfast cereal will only stifle his creative juices and ability to offer us further insight. Banging on about Carvalho is not going to speed up the transaction so let's sit back, enjoy a cup of tea and wait.

We all think we know what we need, Arsene definitely knows what we need, and I'd like to believe that second rate signings are a thing of the past. We haven't seen Ospina yet but the other three signings are excellent and it's not unreasonable to assume that any further additions will be of the same calibre. If not, we won't sign them.except maybe a 3rd/4th choice centre-back.

So with 2 days to go, think of the eds' sanity and instead test them with questions such as at what temperature does ice boil?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree mate

I know not strictly Arsenal related but we were linked to Tom Cleverley and I think it will do him the world of good to get away from all the hassle he's had.

Great bit of business by United too, £8 million and they get to pay Villa in instalments. :-)

Eds, from previous responses I gather you're quite in the know when it comes to Arsene/his team's movements. No specific names in mind but are you aware of any serious discussions/meetings due to take place. when can we next expect to (potentially) hear some news from the Arsenal camp?. And if you do have names that would be a bonus ;)

Cheers guys.

Hi guys, I am pessimistic now and I need some to assure me if we are going to sign a Striker and DM. . I really can't stand Chelsea fan Booling of beating me any day. The signing of one quality Striker will change that

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No striker. No carvalho.

Whoever well buy will be inthe Silvestre/Kallstrom mould. Or a loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree NG. I would love one striker that will scare opposition defences stiff. But I get this feeling that Sanchez and Campbell given time can do that, who knows!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Naija
We have our striker in Sanchez mate that's Arsene's view and when all said and done it's the only one that matters be it right or wrong.
As for DM we all want one but again I think (obviously don't know) Arsene thinks Flamini Arteta And possibly Calum have it covered.
The good news is we ain't gone backwards this summer for the second successive season so things have been worse and top four is looking likely rather than hopeful

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 11:12:42
I think the fact Arteta was made club captain says a DM won't be bought, he's already said striker wise we are ok (his opinion not everyone else's) a defender is poss I think but that's probably it.
Maybe Falcao going to Madrid might unsettle Benzema, that's possible.
But I see a covering defender at best coming in.

Please Wenger surprise me and prove me wrong!

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 08:26:11
Dags, I have given up on the jokes, I am now going into football philosophy/proverbs:

It is not the quality of your starting 11 that wins you the league, it is the quality of your bench.

Judge not a striker by the quality of goals that he scores, but rather by the quality of chances that he misses

It is the cool gang that maketh this page

It is much easier to capture top talent with Champions league football than with money

All goals come to those who shoot

But if they did, could they please cheer up and be a bit more positive about the transfer window.

Thank you ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I haven't laughed so hard this month G62. You already giving me stiff competition :(

Ok Red positive transfer news just for you mate :-)
Only 3 days of madness left then we can get on with enjoying the game on the pitch and not the one that goes on (forever) off it

we get a four month break from it after Monday

The January window is only a month long

9 months of football to take our minds off it until it all starts again :-)

Glad you took it as the joke it was meant as g62, great bunch on here. :-)

Your right Red mate, the best posters on the best site who support the best club by far.
Carlsberg don't do football sites, but if they did!

Anyone else glad the falcao rumour is total bs as he's just come back from 6 months out and with girouds injury as well do would wenger really want to risk falcao getting injured too?
If falcao got injured before giroud returned we be worse up front than now as other strikers wouldn't get game time over falcao and would be even less ready to lead a title challenge than now

I'll be even more glad when Monday 11pm gets here.
This window has gone on far to long and I am beyond believing any rumour anymore.
Although with Remy joining chavski its impossible for it to end in total disaster, every cloud and all that :-)

Great player, but I can't see us signing him on loan or permanently, for financial reasons.

Does anyone know what the latest is with coquelin?
I've no idea what his pre season has been like but if we are looking for a natural DM could he fit the bill?
If not surely we've got to sell him, he's currently just taking up a squad number and wages.

I was extremely impressed when he first arrived at the club, but after loan spells he doesn't look the part. I believe he will go on loan again, assuming, as I expect, we are unable to sell him.

He was far more impressive at RB than DM, I never understood why he continued to develop as a DM when he has a great aptitude for the flank

{Ed007's Note - Can you guys please keep an eye on jokes you send in.}

Is 'Celtic' an appropriate joke 007? ;)

Just messing, Rangers are in a much worse state.

Can't see Wenger allowing Rabiot to join Roma unless he felt confident about chances of signing another player for the midfield. Carvalho perhaps? Fingers crossed!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Allowing?

He has no choice, if he doesn't want to pay the asking price or wages AW just won't bother

I am a big Ozil fan

“The opinions of fans are important to me and I’m happy they have such high expectations of me. I have high expectations of myself. I know what I can do and in the past few years I’ve shown that I belong to the select group of best players in the world as a No 10. What’s important is that the manager gives me his trust and in Joachim Löw and Arsène Wenger I have two managers who do exactly that. Both coaches know that my favourite position is the No  10. I’ve played on the left in a World Cup and for Arsenal but my best performances come as a 10.”

“We have a very united spirit; we don’t have to hide from any team, especially at the Emirates Stadium where we can impose our game on the opposition. It is important to remember that we won the FA Cup and that’s given us a lot of confidence. We have trust in each other as a team.” And trust in Wenger. “The Boss is so serene. The whole club can be proud to have such a fantastic manager with so much experience, playing with style and doing so many great things for 18 years here. When you look at Arsenal’s history, the Boss has always blooded youngsters, and helped make them into some of the best players in the world. That’s also why I came here. I wanted to develop myself further.”
He noted the talents around him such as Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey. “What Jack definitely has is big potential. If he stays fit, Jack has a big future because he has a lot of quality. Theo is a big player at this club. Theo is a player you can send clear because he is so quick and has a very good final product. Ramsey is really important for Arsenal, really impressive, great on the ball. We can achieve something big this season.”

Let's get behind him and show him we care! He plays for the Team and that's what fans want.

Hope he has a great season and shows his class as he is pure class

With the left hand side continuing to be a problem, Arsene seems reluctant to use Campbell there as yet, the best signing along with a DM would above anyone else be Marco Reus.

Ozil in his favoured 10 role with Sanchez, Walcott and Reus up front with Ramsey joining in and Carvalho letting them do their thing.

That really is a scary front 5 with options off the bench, Cazorla, Giroud, Wilshere, Chamberlain, Rosicky, Podolski, Campbell and Sanogo.
