Interesting I was just reading an article that stated that Garth Crooks thionks Lamina would be ideal for Arsenal! Worries me as he is ex-toot! In all seriousness, he looks perfect for us.

05 Feb 2018 17:36:41
RG,
Have you got a thing for Lamina? Lol

He's a good player to be honest.

Hate to say it, but Dembele from Spurs would do a great job for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2018 17:49:48
Once again Dagala I find myself in total agreement with you mate, Dembele would be great for us, no chance of getting him of course but he would be an ideal fit.

Carvalho, Wanyama, Bender, doesn’t seem to matter how much we get linked to a DM Wenger won’t go and buy one.

It’s like he’s had a bet with someone and no way is he going to lose. To Wenger 20p is 20p. 🙄.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2018 18:26:20
I am niot sure about Dembele, was a decent player, but injuries have taken their toll. I simply noticed Lamina when watching Southampton and thought he is ideal for us. By the way that was Lamina at Southampton, not Lamela at the toot!

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2018 19:02:40
Well it doesn't seem that arsene has control over who comes in now. Maybe he has some say but who knows a DM could come in.

I wonder if diamond eye is tasked with spotting a new manager who fits with the type of players we have got and potentially buying .

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2018 20:56:23
I know it's done abroad quite a bit but I'm not a fan of the club buying players without the manager wanting them, for me it's got to be the man responsible for picking the team who decides who he wants for it to work well. By all means there should be debate behind the scenes and agreement met but ultimately it has to be the manager who decides.
Arsene simply wouldn't play someone he did want or play them out of position, he certainly wouldn't simply conform if he wasn't happy that's for sure
Lacasette? I do wonder sometimes.

I think as in all jobs that you need to employ a good team with good working dynamics. And in our case at the moment Wenger can no longer be trusted. I don’t think aubameyang would be here if it was solely down to Wenger.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2018 10:11:01
I agree Sanogo mate Pea probably wouldn't be here without influence from others at the club, Aubameyang is way to big a signing and instant hit with the fans for Arsene to leave out and mess about with as he did Lacasette and Kol against Liverpool at Anfield for some strange reason.
I think if Arsene did the same thing with Pea he would see many of his loyal fans finally convert to the out camp.
Lacasette arrived a big signing and got off to a flying start but in a few months has become a sub and being left out for no apparent reason doesn't seem to have done him much good at all, I doubt any fan would accept the same again from Arsene with Aubameyang.

Is it just me or is Lemina at Southampton, just the type of player to fill our DM problem?

Jorginho for me. Don’t know if we’re interested but he’s very good.

Sanaogo - Heard the rumours about Jorginho, but never seen him play. Will have to check him out. Every time I see Lamina, he stands out.

Big sam really is a narcastitic low life in my opinion . Trying to use the Swansea game as a yard stick is the height of stupid. The main difference been arsenal this time out we’re at home and have been very strong there. Also the introduction of aubameyang who’s movement pulled the Everton back three all over. How can he not take any blame and lay it at his players feet. They had used a back for against Leicester to good effect then thought it wise to come away from home to arsenal and adopt a different system then blame the players. Sad thing is you can see some of the goons around sam totally believing his nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I was trying so hard not to get carried away on a rant about that. It is his responsibility as manager so his fault if it doesn't work out. Everton deserve better.}

05 Feb 2018 08:41:12
I think if a manager asks his players to play a different formation and makes big changes and things go badly he should have the good grace to hold his hands up accept full responsibility thank the players for giving it a go and apologise to the fans and move on.
Doing this earns respect while hiding behind your players and blaming them for you getting it wrong breeds resentment either openly or behind his back.
The players will have all felt he sent them out on a fools mission but would probably have accepted it as one of those things had he manned up.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2018 09:14:24
Everton do deserve better. I hope his appointment doesn’t last long. The man really does have tickets on himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2018 09:47:13
I don't have any strong feelings on Sam either way to be honest but for 100% certain he's got this one wrong.
I think there is a time to publicly state when you feel you players have let you the club and most importantly the fans down, there have been many occasions Arsene has infuriated me by making excuses for our players and by the same token there are times a manager should publicly admit he got it wrong and apologise to his players the club and again most importantly the fans.
Everyone makes mistakes everyone has ideas that don't pay off and people usually have a lot more understanding and acceptance of those mistakes if you admit them and learn from them. Nobody admires people for using scape goats and excuses that the whole world can see aren't real.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think we all feel the same G62..

05 Feb 2018 10:34:05
I think responsibility is the key to how a managers mistakes are accepted or held against them Ed025 mate, we all love someone who can openly hold their hands up and say sorry and no one likes people who try and duck their responsibilities by blaming others, that's always a mistake.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - sam is a legend in his own mind G62, he sets teams up to not lose rather than win and continually changes the personnel and tactics which spoils the continuity of the team, he then blames the players when it fails and anything else that deflects the blame from him, he is not the type of manager that i want at my club and the sooner we get rid of this fraud the better mate..

05 Feb 2018 13:55:37
The problem is ed that although he’s a legend in his own mind it appears that with the amount of jobs he seems to walk into that he has his fair share of admirers . I still can’t believe how the whole England debacle has been swept under the carpet when lesser offences have seen others completely in employable. It would be nice if he did the same as he did after last season at palace and walk away. No team deserves what he serves up. Everton for sure deserve better than that pig.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he is a fireman SLB, puts out fires and staves off relegation by grinding out results with his anti-football values, thats ok for the yo-yo clubs who,s main priority is to survive but i would like to think everton are better than that mate..

05 Feb 2018 14:56:21
Agreed Ed025 mate Everton are much much bigger than fighting relegation each season.
Everton are a very big club who for years lacked investment but had decent without being great managers Moyes Martinez were probably never title winners in waiting but they were both decent with limited resources.
Everton in my opinion need a Dyche type manager who they and the fans can buy into and have the patience with to deliver what the club really is capable of.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i like dyche G62, hes an honest guy who knows the league well, the thing with everton is they bring in managers and give them a decent budget which they invariably waste with a scatter gun approach, instead of 1 or 2 quality players we seem to go for 7 or 8 stocking fillers, at the moment i will be happy if we just get rid of this carbucle on the arse of everton fat sam mate..

Ed001,
In your Liv/ Spurs summary, you described The Ox as "Aimless and Brainless".

Yep, spot on 😉.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I never said that, I haven't done a summary of Liverpool v Spurs.}

Dags can see far far into the future and is just letting you know that statement will be included. All you have to do is copy and paste a statement about xhaka.

{Ed001's Note - ahhh nice one, that saves me a bit of time.}

05 Feb 2018 08:06:33
Ahh sorry Ed,
It was the article from yesterday "How I saw the Liverpool/ Spurs game. Article by Seano.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - ah ok mate. Yeah I always leave my reviews a day or so to give me time to think things over and watch the games again. Get a lot more perspective when I do that as I keep my head clear.}

05 Feb 2018 08:54:08
Reporting on the Arsenal games has got to be the easiest job in journalism, write a review about the lack of effort fight commitment extremely poor defending and organisation then simply copy paste through out the season, the journos have had it very very easy over the last few years with Arsenal, I bet days like last Saturday must ruin their plans for that evening when they have to actually start working for a living :-)

Harsh but true G62.

I know what you mean Ed001.
I always think it's ridiculous that Manager's should give press conferences minutes after the whistle has blown, especially after a dodgy decision has cost them.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - exactly. I mean last night what is Klopp meant to say after that idiotic performance from Moss? Everyone needs some time to cool down and mull over what happened before they talk about it. Though it is still difficult now!}
