Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

After coming back from a long ankle injury during pre season I was just starting to find the form of my life and secured a place in the first team paying the number 10 role, however this week I have twisted my ankle again and will be unavailable for a while, I'm absolutely gutted. I promise you This is not the inner monologue of jack wilshere. So got me think, what are your guys injury stories and what position do you all play?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

RM until my knees got knackered!

Agree0 Disagree0

Use to play on right wing than moved to an out and out striker, ala Thierry.

Touch wood, never had an injury because I was too damn fast, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahaha too fast for an injury? ussually the other way round no?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah Saint, the slow f*ckers could never catch me, lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I played centre mid as loved starting off and joining in the attacks but also the defensive side of the game.
The best injury I got was at a defensive corner I spotted the run of one of the other teams players but so had the keeper and got myself wedge in between the attackers head and Keepers fist and the next thing I knew was the smelling salts.
Dont sound great but after a few minutes on the side line's I came back on to what seemed like every one was in slow motion but me, I didn't understand why everyone was giving so much time on the ball or why the ref allowed the first half to last 3 hour's.
I was obviously concussed but at least I got to feel super human for a few hours :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I was a centre half all the way from 12 when I started to 32 when I finished due to that major injury most Sunday league players pickup. to old to cope with a Saturday night out anymore initis.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was a left winger all through my youth years until I dislocated my kneecap crossing the ball. No-one even touched me lol, knee just gave way. Had physio for a few months and was told to lay off the football for a year, but like the hero I am I went back to play after 3 months and dislocated it AGAIN! So here I am, some 5 years later, 3 operations later, and waiting for a final op in the coming months. I am playing again, but not in a professional capacity :(

Agree0 Disagree0

Ouch Boogz

Agree0 Disagree0

Left back and left mid - both as a winger - because I'm ambifooted just like Santi except I'm equally useless with either foot - until the pounds crept on, then moved to defensive mid which was my favourite position. Then my ankle knacked and I moved back to keeper until I couldn't play so I became a pub team manager. In my own mind my career's legend LOLOLOL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Left back. left back in the dressing room.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol thanks Dags, worst pain of my life. I don't think me making it as a football player was ever in my destiny :)

Agree0 Disagree0

By the look of everyone's injuries, we'd all be perfect for Arsenal

Players I wouldn't take to the World Cup

Smalling
Lampard
Welbeck

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Honestly think the only way England have a chance in Brazil is they if play with pace all over the pitch.

International teams, minus Spain and that machine they call the German team aren't usually tactically sound.

Chuck sterling and Townsend on the wings, Sturbridge up top with Rooney sitting behind, Gerrard/wilshere and ox/lallana in the centre.

I know that's not the most frightening team to face, but let's be honest they'll be deadly on the counter against internationals.

Drop Cole and give bains or Gibbs a run. The oldies had their chance, unleash the youngsters! (Let's be honest they can't do any worse)

Ok, I'm not going to dwell on this although which club has this injury record to its players? How many of our guys have been lost on intl duty long term?

Anyways, now is when depth helps

Until Rambo is back

Giroud
Poldi Ozil Ox
Flam Caz or Ros

That's the team

I'm expecting Arsene to f this up. Man managing has gone to total rubbish this year, and it's glaring

Prob is we lose him and 15 other aspects of the club are affected, from which there is no coming back

So please lads, whichever one of you are selected to play, please remove thy head from thy arse and show up to play

And yes, this post is totally about Bayern

I understand Everton is good. But if we are a team w title and Euro ambitions, Saturday is about beating a mid-level team at home, real talk

Get it done lads, earn that paycheck. The polar opposite of what good ole' overrated Wayne Rooney is doing.

In Spain he plays for Valencia, wouldn't sniff the bench on top 3, maybe Atletico.

Him. Don't play like him.

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Man managing has not been rubbish this year, it has been every year for a very long time. This is what I am trying to get at, with a striker last summer, a defensive midfielder and a winger we would be top of the league or if not at least 3 points better off, Also a lot closer to Bayern.
We would not need to invest for at least a couple of years unless we sold.
Does anyone disagree with that?
WHY IS THIS NOT HAPENING. YEAR ON YEAR! Wilshire is the future……… we should not be crying because he is injured. for 6 weeks!!
I am crying in my pilow.
I just looked and the difference in prize money between 1st and 4th (including tv rights)…. It is 4 million squidaroonies! Seems sooooooo clear that the management don't give a shizzle about the league or the glory of winning. Their aim is top 4!
I understand the Wenger support. he has transformed the club.
When is it enough though? Imagine in another 5, 6 or 7 years if we have consistently come 4th 3rd or 2nd and come close to winning cup competition.
Will this be enough considering the wealth we have? Will this be enough, when it takes a billionaire a relatively small level of investment to give arsenal fans a moment they will cherish forever.
A moment we deserve!
I went to the pub tonight, as you can probably tell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha Saenz I feel you bud, hasn't been an easy ride

But this year it's been worse

By man managing I mean, who plays and how they play against the specific opponent

It's been awful this year

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post US, although I would play the team slightly differently.
I would like to see

Giroud
Caz Ozil Gnabry/Rosicky
Flamini Ox

Love the Ox playing in the middle with some direct running.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree it has been worse this year, the flame should have played against stoke surely. instead he went for Arteta?
strange.

Boogz that looks like the formation to use going forward, well at least until ramsey comes back.

what do you think about tomorrows game?

2 GK, 2 CB, 1 RB, 2 DM, 2 WNG, 2 ST.

We could end up needing that lot this summer! We have 2 GK's leaving so 2 must be brought in. We already need another CB and Vermaelen could leave so that means another one. Sagna could leave so we'd then need another 1 RB at the very least (not sure on Jenko).

Arteta MUST be replaced this summer, his legs have gone, and we have to think about post-Flamini as well (maybe not this summer), Podolski will probably leave sadly, so he'll need replaced plus we are already crying out for another winger. And the most glaring gap of all, we must get a couple of strikers in.

Just shows how poorly managed the last few transfer windows have been. We could at least have had 3/4 of that list dealt with by now but of course it's now all going to hit us over the next window or two!

This isn't an over reaction to anything, its so blindingly obvious! We need 4 or so additions as it is but with a lot of key player leaving or getting past their best, we need to replace them as well. I'm not saying they all have to be starting 11 material but they need to be good enough to fill in for the starting 11 with ease.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spot on, hence why we should have bought more players in the last two windows. Our squad is going to be very short. I believe we will sign two keepers, only one centre back to replace Vermaelen, who is going to leave and a forward. Possibly one midfield player. Wenger will keep Arteta and Flamini, who are both sluggish and would not get into any of the potential top four teams. He may also sell Podolski.

Hi guys,

Well after a very long 5 or so days I finally feel confident enough to post an update.

My Mrs went into labor last week, all was well and everything was ticking along nicely, so much so my Mrs decided to have the home birth she wanted.
At about 11am the midwife told me to get all the stuff ready, (sheets etc).
At 11:50am it got complicated and to put a long story short the ambulance was called and my Mrs (in quite some distress) was took off to hospital because the thoughts were my boy was 'being a git'.
Little did we know what lie ahead for the net 5 days.

I arrived at hospital in the car, as my Mrs wanted her mother to travel with her in the ambulance & its not like I can start disagreeing with a woman in labor so I agreed to meet them there. I let my dog out and rushed to the hospital about 10 mins behind. When I got to the hospital, I asked the front desk to take me to her and I was took back outside where at that point the ambulance with my Mrs in turned up and the nurse went running up to the ambulance and came back to me and told me how my Mrs had given birth on route and the baby had gone into distress and ended up (to put in in lamens terms) swallowed his own poo and totally blocking all his lungs and needed resuscitating and bringing back to life.

They rushed me and my Mrs into a room and sorted everything out that needed doing (u won't want me to go into details).
after about an hour they told us what had happened to him and took us to the intensive care unit where he was.
I arrived into a room with my boy with about 5 tubes in his mouth and nose and a machine working flat out pumping his lungs and shacking him to hell, along with sensors all over his head to monitor his brain.

That night the Doctor asked me if I wanted him baptized and pretty much told us there was little chance of him making the next 3 days (it was the worst form of this thing she had seen in her life she said).

I came home that night without a Mrs and a baby and didn't expect the latter to ever come home.

I prayed in the hospital chapel that night and when I got home I reached out to this site and asked for some positive thoughts and what I got words could never do justice.

I logged on once a day, normally just before sleep and could not believe the support my boy was getting from many people from many boards praying and hoping for my him and I promise I read every single post from every single person & I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart.

5 days on my boy is fighting strong and has improved so much the doctors are calling him the miracle baby and they are now telling us they expect a near full if not full recovery.
To give u an example how poorly he was, there was a couple with a baby born just 26 weeks into a 40 week pregnancy and I was told my boy was the sickest baby in the ward still.

Football brings people together for many reasons whether that be friendships, relationships, unity etc.
But I'm so glad about 10 years ago I typed into Google 'football rumors' and arrived here, albeit it was very different back then and began checking it daily.
Over them years it has changed so much and all the thanks should go to the edds for that, as well as the fine people that frequent this site from across the boards.

We bicker, whinge and wind each other up (I'm one of the worst, ain't that right Marcellus? :)) but I would just like to say to all the people on here that support many different football clubs. We are often all shown in a bad light and called some quite unsavory things from people who hate what football stands for, but 5 days ago I reached out to u all and with your help and the brilliant work of the doctors and nurses and the, Rosie-Addenbrookes, U helped save a boys life this last week and for that I'm forever to u all and always will be.

Today I saw my boy open his eyes for the first time and I can't wait to hold him, but none of that could of been even remotely possible with out everyone's help on here.

Love you all so much right now
THANK YOU SO MUCH

P.s we named him Jack with a middle name of 'Goerge' (yes after the man himself).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - well done, and glad to hear you gave your son my grandad's middle name, my daughter was named after him too. That was the George you meant right?? Best wishes to you mate and your missus, especially to the little un from all the eds.}

Sounding a lot more positive mate. Hopefully it's the full recovery.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris this is the post we have all been waiting, hoping and truely praying for mate.
Well done you your wife and that strong little fighter you have brought into the world, he could be that DMF we are looking for in 18 years or so mate, he has all the credentials already.
So pleased Chris, God bless all three of you , enjoy the fantastic years ahead together

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey Chris,

I'm a grown man and I swear that post brought tears to my eyes.

Mate, I'm so pleased you and the Wife have had a happy outcome and I'm glad our thought's and prayers have played a small part in the recovery of your "little red-devil".

The fact that you could post on here and the other boards, to tell everybody the outcome, after such a stressful episode, bares testiment to the fact, that despite you being a Manchester United supporter, you are a true gentleman (smiles).

So pleased for you and your family and I can't believe you called your little boy Jack, after our very own Jack Wilshere.

What a star you are Chris, lol.

(But seriously, so pleased for you mate).

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh my days. It does bring it all into perspective. My boy has just turned 11 but to thina baby ffs come on, i'm a catholic but Jesus . why.

DG you could definitely get a roll in a Costa del crime movie mate
Your picture's got moody ganster on the run written all over it mate

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Ed007 tells me he has seen DG in a couple of films already, something called 'skin flicks' he tells me.}

I think Ed007 may have mistaken him for the Maltese Falkirk Ed001

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Ed007 is an expert on skin flicks, he assures me he knows dags well, something about the way it hangs to the left he was mumbling on about.}

To be honest Gent's, I'm trying to get away from my past. All those porn movies, skin-flicks, train robberies, bank heists and jewellery thefts take their toll you know.

This website is my getaway haven so let's keep my past a secret please because Scotland Yard are still looking for me, something about Britain's most wanted or something like that.

(Big smiles)

Cat amongst the pigeons time. When I first saw Jack playing in a Carling Cup game when he was 16 I said to the people I was with that this kid is going to be injury prone. I could tell by the way he run and went in for the ball always sideways on it seemed. I'm surprised the club never spotted it. Anyhow, I know from experience that the injury can heal but the problem is the mind takes a lot lot longer. I believe that's where Jacks head is that is why he drops like a stone virtually every time he goes in for the ball lately. He is paranoid of getting his ankle injured again and can't get his head round it. Now, this last episode might well be the undoing of him mentally, probably the straw that broke the camels back so to speak. Sorry to say I would be surprised to see him ever reach the heights he should have been capable of as I believe his head won't allow him. Some players can never relax again after bad injuries are always at the back of their minds. I would be thinking of letting him go while we still have the chance of getting something not going to be popular I know and I'm just as surprised that I am saying this as most people are reading it. But it may be a situation we might have to live with. Sorry.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jack needs good friends around him because your best friends to you stuff you don't always want to hear.
Injury or no injury Jack is at a crossroads of his career .
If he gets his head and ankle fixed the worlds his lobster if he don't he's one for nearly brigade file

Agree0 Disagree0

That's a fair comment Gold's and I totally agree, you handsome devil you.

Eduardo spring's to mind. IMO, he would have been the greatest Arsenal striker ever, or at least as good as Wrighty and Thierry, if he didn't get that horrendous injury.

I genuinely feel we would have won a few trophies with him leading our attack.

I think Jack Wheelchair could be the same mate, alas.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilshere is going to miss the rest of the season, as he is out for 6 weeks, plus fitness work. He is an injury waiting to happen, as he has to learn to play on his feet, rather than diving into tackles and often ending up on the ground. There was an interesting article this season, written by a Dutch medical expert who explained why the likes if Walcott and now Wilshere suffer from repeated injuries. He stated that after a major injury it takes the brain and body time to recover and players mustn't be over played in this period as simple challenges, such as Walcott's against the Toot, can lead to major injuries. We need a stronger squad and more rotation, particularly to allow players a gentle route back after serious injuries. We now have long term injuries to Walcott, Abu Diaby, Wilshere and Ramsey, who have all suffered from major injury in the past.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not much you can do about a broken foot bone? Wasn't he injured on international duty last time as well?

Hi eds

does anyone no what rambo's original injury was and why it has taken so long for him to come back?

Ii would love to be a fly on the wall in the arsnal physio room.
we have a terrable record with ingurys with players been out much longer then first thought.

I remember back in the day when freddie get getting injured for no apparent reason but when freddie went to an independent medical team they straight away noticed he had an infection from the tattoo he had done how our own medical team missef this god knows

does anyone know if we have the same team in place or have we changed it up?

Thanks in advance for any light that can be shed

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The medical & rehab team messed up with Ramsey's injury, apparently a thingh muscle problem. He was allowed back too quickly and had to start again. Our injury record and the time it takes players to get back is attrocious.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree robbie its a joke, the best signing we can make is a new experinced medical team

Agree0 Disagree0

I think originally it was a torn hamstring and as Robbie said, he was rushed back too soon.

If Wilshere was a horse, I'd be walking him to the glue factory.
He can wait in line behind Diaby.

I mean come on. Winston Bogarde has played more than our two.

Anyhow, Wilshere jeez! another injury! will he ever stop being injured. What's the next move Wenger has got up his sleeve? At this rate we all might aswell get ourselves down to Lonon Colney and start training we might just get a game.
I'm sick of it lately. I know it's not Jacks fault but let's face it he loves an injury .

Well, I don't like to boast mate, lol.

Morning guys and Jenny

a few things,

love the picture suggestion Goldboy, mine's on there now.

been catching up on banter and totally agree with G95's comments about Ozil in Germanys game last night. He was a different player, head up looking for a pass, great tackling back and moving into dangerous areas.

So all is not lost.

A few great signings in the summer and Ozil will regain the talent that we have only seen glimpses of. I'm sure closer to the window this site will be buzzing about who we want/need.

Finally to Saturday. Like it or lump it the FA Cup is the most TRADITIONAL cup in the world. Arsenal are one of the most TRADITIONAL clubs in the world. For me and hopefully many of you, I hope we send out a strong team so to take another step towards Wembley.

A piece of silverware for our young players would enhance their confidence going into next season.

Be lucky.

Ed, on the rumours you said the club was planning beyond wenger, with usmanov expected to be in control.

Does this mean usmanov wants wenger gone when/if he takes control?

And do you think usmanov being in control will take arsenal forward or will we stay where were are? Just in your opinion.

Thanks in advance!
