Ok guys, so apart from us, what other footy teams do you have a soft spot for? For me a perfect Saturday has victories for us, Leyton Orient and Cowdenbeath.

I've grown to love Rhyl F.C. over the past year. Go to a lot of their home games considering it's only a couple quid and I live about 5 minutes away. But no team on the planet compares to Arsenal.

The Borroloola Swamp Dogs are my local team. They play on a patch of dirt with trees for goal posts. I still can't get a game.

Ed I'm only about 5 mins away from rhyl as well and you wouldn't recognise the place now. Not the same place it was years ago.

Although I have no ill feelings towards Cesc for leaving us to follow his heart to Barca, for me, he gave up the number 4 shirt when he left.

Mert's is a crowd favourite and wear's the number 4 with pride.

I think we would need to sell a midfielder though - I would say Jack but he has age on his side, a home grown player plus a Gooner. I would have to sell Santi.

To maximise sale value - he needs a good WC and no one has to know we need to sell.

Dont really want to sell him but we need if we get Cesc.

We can then get a proper winger rather than pushing Santi out wide.

This gives us more balance for the big games and we have a midfield who can keep possession and play killer balls

Thoughts?

Sell Flamini/Arteta and possibly Rosicky. Would be sad to see him go though.

It's got to be Santi everytime, we wouldn't miss him as much as people think. Cesc would be a significant upgrade.

Seems to be a lot of talk about us going for both Balotelli and the reasonably priced other bloke with Poldolski making way for them!

Gunner62. Mate I would hate to let Podolski walk. I think that would be a major mistake.

I love Poldolski Golds and how much he loves us but he needs to be pert of a two man strike force that we don't play. Imo he doesn't have the pace or the work rate to be our sole striker
By the way mate I will give you a call around 11.am tomorrow if that's ok? Dags is going to meet up with us too, so we can book a tablet in the name of Dirk Dagala for next Monday mate :-)

Goldboy I still never thought he got a decent shot at being striker! Lethal finisher but just not build to be a winger in our system more of a LF so he's not constantly covering for our LB bombing forward.

Podolski reminds me of Pires, less skillful but more direct, but like pires, not sure if he can play upfront.

That said, he has a great scoring record for Germany, (47 in 116 I think).

We could get the following signings:

Mario Balotelli
Hulk
Loic Remy
Antoine Griezmann

With these signings as well as Aurier and a great goal keeper to compete with Sczensy as well as a CDM like Morgan Schneiderlin. I would consider that to be a successful transfer and we can compete with the best of the best but the hulk thing doesn't seem to be that concrete.

What do you think?

If we are to add more than 3 players then I think they heed EPL experience to minimise risk and adjustment period

We need to help our defence more, inject pace and goals

Not content with just being the Dagala you have now tied SY up in a cupboard and assumed his identity too I see, all for what? Remy! Get a hold of yourself man and free the real SY immediately, this kidnapping thing really does have to stop Dags, no really it does :-)

These may seem like silly questions but it's something I've always thought about and wondered if an Ed had Ed002 in particular in mind could clear them up for me.

1) How does the process of transfer listing a player work? Does the club alert other clubs that they are looking to sell a player, or is the player and their agent are told they are being listed and then they have to take the initiative in finding a new club?

2) What is the currency of football, the papers always give nice rounded of figures in £s but as most of Europe use the euro I always though that would be the currency use during the transfer process.

3) How do players and their agents become aware of interest other clubs may have in them and get an idea of the kind of contract that could get without violating the rules?

4) If a club is interested in signing a player how do they go about finding out if the player would be interested in joining them, and then brokering a deal? Do they simply ring the club a player is at and say we are interested in buying x how much will that cost?

Clubs will say that they are willing to listen to offers and agents will hawk players around - but most often enquires come from clubs via agents or direct whether a player is available or not. A list is maintained of all out of contract and released players. (2) Except for intra-UK transfers, euro is the main currency. South America used to always use US$ but the largest market, Brazil, has switch to euro. (3) Clubs and agents talk to each other - sometimes with intermediaries. (4) Clubs will typically informally ask an agent (a) if the player is going to be available, and (b) would the player consider a move to the club. There may be some broad discussion on the sort of deal that would be offered. If the answer is yes, it is then necessary for the club to approach the player's club to ask if they would be willing to sell and if they would grant permission to speak to a player's agent and possibly even the player about actually making a move. This will typically involve either broadly (through an offer) or actually agreeing a fee and responsibility for any significant costs (agents fees etc.). Once this has happened the club will be able to speak to the player's agent and perhaps the player himself to look at the package that will be involved. Many players are looked at and discussed at a high-level with agents and clubs; a subset of those have an offer placed; a subset of those involve discussions with the player's club; a subset of those involve discussions over terms, and; a subset of those go ahead.}

Sir Bobby felt he was serving his country as England manager rather than the other way round, I get the feeling Roy Hodgson is cut from the same cloth as Sir Bobby.

hi ed, are we going to leave it really late again? :( any idea who we are trying to get at RB? I really hope for serge aurier, any idea on the likely hood and his price? I would also like to see fabian schar or similar reasonably priced CB any chance of us getting decent cover at CB? I would hope we finally get a top quality marquee striker, anyone likely? personally really hoping for benzema, although I gather that is reliant on them landing suarez, any idea if they will? personally I feel those 3 or similar would make us much stronger next season, if we buy a midfielder before them I think I will cry! having said that if we did land them and had money left to get dimaria/griessman/pedro I would be really satisfied as i'm really worried about walcotts injuries. except i'm sure I've drifted in to dream land! on a related note, why do we get so many injuries? just seriously unlucky or something?

You could see Jacks agenda in this game tonight. It was get on the pitch but keep out of the way. I couldn't believe the commentator when he said " This has been a good workout for.England " what the hell is he talking about? Honduras!? in a friendly? Anyhow England were embarrassing again. Rooney was his normal obvious due to being absent. Tell me why Rooney is out there please.? I really need to know. I couldn't even say we are really preparing for the Euros as we seem do far off the mark it's a joke. Gerrard has just shown his face on the TV moaning again.
