Hi all, just heard from someone close to an ex player who is close to the club, that a swap deal is being worked on either on loan similar to Baptista & Reyes or permanent: Monreal to Athletico Madrid, Toby Alderweald to Arsenal.
quite reliable source.

1.) To Atletico? They have already two left back (Siqueira and Ansaldi).

Gazidis has said in The London Evening Standard that more signings to come and they are working on them right now.
Also ssn just reported Arsenal have approached QPR about Remy, one for you Dags!

craneygooner

1.) My guess is they are working on Bender deal. This is always the case with Arsenal. The player most discussed in the media never makes it to Arsenal. Balotelli the most recent one. So Khedira is just a smoke screen for Bender deal which is hardly being discussed.

2.) 11 Jul 2014 19:35:46
Woohoo,

3.) Theres only 1 thing to say its about friggin time if we could just add another few faces we will make a very bet for the treble next season or dare I say quadruple wouldn't nind knowing were everyonez going to play like but ill enjoy it anyway

4.) Hes alao said expect another 4 major signings

with papers saying mr philosophy he is willing to let Januzai go in the summer, anyone else think he would be fantastic for us and our system as one of the wide attackers.

craneygooner

{Ed025's Note - he would not get in the side mate..

1.) Be good for rotation, they could all play twice each season

2.) I think he could be as good as he wants to be. seems to of gone backwards abit after his big pay increase. I rate him highly tho.

3.) Thing with manu they have two many central strikers. plus mata.

falcao would of scored so many here. he thrives on crosses etc. di maria I feel is one of the world best wingers but he's being played out of position

they need to move two of the 4 on. rooney wil stay. falcao I don't think will sign. so one from rvp, mata I think.

id play di maria and januzzi outwide for now.

not posted for a while as feel so disappointed with things at the moment, so many negative words are being said by so many, a lot of fans are divided and the atmosphere is showing this, so much so that its not fun any more.
so just a bit of fun, not sure if been on here before, in pub last night drowning sorrows with a friend and consoling my 10 year old, who said Dad, why wasn't I born 17 years ago then I could have watched Henry & Bergkamp in the Invincibles. Bless him! So the debate was, who out of the current squad would get into the invincibles squad, we came up with the following:
100%
Alexis for Wiltord
Kos for Keown

The debate raged on the following:
Wilshere for Edu?
Walcott for Kanu?

Thoughts everyone? And if you could all assure my son things will get better!!

I think there would be room for Kos, Sanchez, Rambo, Theo and Ollie in the squad for sure. I would not drop Keown for Kos but put Sanchez in the line up.
Sure the others would have notched up a few spots also but not sure how many of the invincibles I would drop for anyone because as a UNIT they went up beaten and won. I would not drop anyone in the starting 11 for Hazzard, Fab, Costa etc etc
It's not fair to compare to the invincibles

2.) 23 Nov 2014 23:44:44
No chance would I drop Keown, the players have said on numerous occasions how important he was in the dressing room and training sessions even though he wasn't a regular starter.
Just imagine what a personality like his could do to the squad we have now!

Wenger press conference. "Fans must be patient with Ozil"
Well Mr Wenger play him in his best position then, don't blame the fans for your poor management and tactical ideas!!

Personally I love Ozil as a player, I think next home game we should all get behind him from the start, give him the loudest cheer, sing his name throughout and show him the support and love from his fans!!!

craneygooner

1.) Best post I have read in the past few days. Support the players

2.) 19 Sep 2014 13:13:13
Don't sing "spend some fffffffff money"

A similare chant like we did for TH14 to signs other year

"In the hole, in the hole, in the hole. "

Let's get behind Ozil and get him in the middle

3.) 19 Sep 2014 14:16:27
Spot on lads. Try to drown out the whinging. It's one thing to have a quiet vent on a blog, quite another to attack your own teams players or the manager at a game.

4.) Totally agree. We should never boo the players. EVER!

Must say I think tomorrow is one of our most important games for years. After a poor performance v Leicester and result, we need to set out a marker to the premier league other big teams. Although i'm happy with our signings, I still feel as well as many others that our main problems have not been addressed, lack of pace at centre back and strong CDM. Tomorrow is a must win with a good performance to prove o the other top teams we are no push overs and we are ready to challenge.
Has AW learned the following lessons from last season?

1. Can we prove we are no soft touch in the middle of the park and get bullied and over run.
2. Can we stop conceding early and multiple goals v the top teams.
3. Can we get our tactics right, look at the opposition strengths and combat it, like Mouhrino and Rogers do in certain games.
4. Will we stop playing players out of position, ie Ozill. He should be our main focus with our attacking pace now.

I guess by tomorrow afternoon we will know. I hope we have learned and through a message out there to Chelsea, City, Liverpool and Man u.

1.) Good post that craney, .
CAN WE stop the hidings?
Does Arsene know how to?
Is he prepared to act if he does know how?
Must admit to allow it to happen 3 times in 3 big games on the trot I do wonder if its a case we can't stop them, which would be terrifying

2.) It is certainly our first big acid test this season.

Although we have improved our attacking options with Sanchez and now Wellbeck, we stil have not addressed that problem Dm position.

Yes Arteta or Flamini are fine against lesser teams I just feel they are not strong or disiplined enough against the bigger teams and get overrun when we do not dominate possesion.

I Think Mert is decent with Kos as the partner because Kos is quick and can cover/sweep up while Mert reads the game and attacks the ball. The problem is any Injuires or suspensions in our back line and we are struggling for cover. Wenger was a fool to let Jenkinson go out on loan in my book.

Agree that Wenger needs to start playing players in their best positions now we have Sanchez there is no need to put Ozil out wide he has very litlle impact on the game out wide and we need to get such players involved in the game as much as possible to improve our chances.

I also worry about our set piece defending which contiues to be a issue with this Zonal marking as nobody seems to attack the ball. Mert should be told you just go and attack the ball and clear it if come into anywhere in the central aea. It just seems like everybody leaves it for someone else and nobody takes responsibility

3.) Ryan I agree with every single word of that mate, absolutely outstanding post imo

4.) 12 Sep 2014 20:23:48
Top posts boys.

Well said.

5.) We didn't get hammered at home though did we, the test is in the away fixtures .

I would be happy to draw twice against City and Chelsea home and away if truth be known, 4 pts of Liverpool and we would be in with a damn good shout.of course far too early for all that chat.

Undefeated tomorrow for me will do.

some rumours of Winston reid, thoughts everyone? good age at 26, EPL experience, in last year of contract so won't cost a lot?

craneygooner

1.) 23 Aug 2014 00:16:41
I have a few 'Hammers' as mates and they reckon he is top draw.

Why not.

2.) Would much prefer him to Manolas, especially considering my kiwi roots. I think he's good enough to start for us domestically and give Koscielny time to sort out his Achilles.

I suppose I am the judge on this, I can't have Vertonghen because I think he would be great for us and had a half decent season for the enemy. Lamela good player but in a crap club! Front runners so far, Fellaini, Nani, mvilla.
