Morning eds, is there any truth in the reports linking us with a 45mil pound move for lacazette.

Alam98

{Ed001's Note - I don't know anything about that, I know he is available for an inflated price to English clubs, but that is all I know regarding him.}

26 Jun 2016 10:43:54
Hi eds, would getting perisic hint towards the departure of walcott. Also would Wenger count this as a striker we've been looking and what is happening with this mikhtaryian saga, it looks like Wenger has lost out on him again.

Alam98

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal haven't got "Perisic", Walcott's time has likely come, Mikhtaryian is refusing to join Arsenal as the fans cannot spell his name correctly.}

1.) 26 Jun 2016 16:31:24
Ed002 That was brilliant.

2.) 26 Jun 2016 16:37:15
Ed,
You spelt Mkhitaryan incorrectly :-)

3.) 26 Jun 2016 17:23:41
Would it be the worst thing in the world to loan out Walcott to a pl club? He seems to have a few of the attributes to become a top striker but without a long run of games he doesn't seem to be able to settle into the role or get the confidence that you need in that role. Maybe I am crazy but people like Wright and more recently Vardy came to the top level at a late stage why not loose him for one season and see if he can return the player he was supposed to be.

4.) 26 Jun 2016 19:26:36
You alright ed? Arsenal are being heavily linked with lacazette in the past 2days? Are talks arranged between lyon and arsenal?

{Ed002's Note - I don't know of any talks.}

5.) 26 Jun 2016 20:13:00
Is it just interest and nothing else? Thanks for the reply number 2, really appreciate it.

{Ed002's Note - He might be an option.}

6.) 26 Jun 2016 19:32:43
Or spell checks, or penalty takers, or players that the Woolwich will sign.

Bring back oddbod, life on here simply hasn't been the same.

03 Jun 2016 16:40:20
Eds, what's your view on the whole arsene Wenger debate, do you think he's still the man to take the club forward or he should resign at the end of next season? I can imagine Wenger stepping down if another unsuccseful season happens again.

Alam98

{Ed025's Note - hes stepping down anyway alam, he wanted to go at the end of last season but was persuaded to stay for 1 more year mate..

1.) 03 Jun 2016 18:30:55
The debate needs to stop it can only be damaging he is going end of next year and that's that.

2.) 03 Jun 2016 19:01:06
I agree with Sanogo let's stop the Arsene debate and concentrate of the season ahead, if we win the league or get extremely close after a long sustained challenge that gets to game 37 with us well in the running we would all be happy for him to continue and if he doesn't his contract is up and there's nothing left to say on the subject.
Let's all wait and see and maybe if we're lucky we will all be Arsene in this time next year.

3.) 03 Jun 2016 19:55:43
Ed025, this might sound a bit silly but still, does last season means the season that has just ended?

{Ed025's Note - yes mate..

4.) 03 Jun 2016 21:45:36
Hiya, Liverpool supporter here, just being nosey. Do you think Arsene will retire or go to another club? I love him personally, understand how Arsenal supporters get frustrated with him, but he's a gentleman, and a damn site more personable than some of the arse-hat managers out there. He'll be a loss to the EPL imo.

{Ed025's Note - im with you on that one super, he is expected to retire at the end of next season mate..

5.) 04 Jun 2016 19:19:48
hi all, i strongly believe wenger leaving would be bad for us. he has just started buying players as arsenal have only truly started spending in the last 3 years. for all wenger haters out there, we would be like villa now if he left us when so many other big clubs came calling for him. i also believe that without his constant qualification for champions league we would not have been able to pay the loans for the emirates project off in the manner we have. all of this achieved when we were selling our top talent when the big clubs came calling. for what? all to make arsenal from a normal club into a BIG club. i strongly believe that if wenger was allowed he would have bought players in the past but due to financial hurdles and shitty general staff he wasn't able to get the players he wanted. i think wenger should bring on a strong assistant manager and better (YOUNGER) general staff who will kick the players ass to keep them on their toes as he's too old IMO to deal with the younger players. another thing that is important is that the players need not just respect but also relate to their managers and since wenger doesn't really have that kind of personality and he always stands up for his players even when they lose. i believe someone like berkamp would be an awesome choice to come in as AM to keep the lads hungry and at their best (example: zidane at madrid) and maybe take over one day from wenger. on another note positive signs seeing wenger with dein at ENG vs POR, oooo how i wish he dein never left : (.

in conclusion wenger leaving is going to leave a crater in arsenal so i don't know why all fans are asking for his immediate exit. the man hasn't delivered in the last 10 years but he is also the man who has given us the only golden league trophy in the games history and a style of play that resembles what johan cruyff left at Barcelona and see where they are today. i will never stop respecting the man as he is truly a legend and someone who will be credited with arsenal future glories because of what he did for our club just like johan cruyff is credited for barcelona.

of course this is all open for debate and opinions are more than welcome if they are civil :)

Hello eds, I was wondering if arsenal were interested in one other attacker except striker because I feel our RW is quiet weak. Hearing rumours of Mario gotze dunno if I want that type mid. What do you think?

Alam98

{Ed025's Note - arsenal are always interested in good players alam, this year will be more difficult with the euro,s which is why getting xhaka early was very shrewd, but forwards will be at a premium especially if they do well mate..

1.) 01 Jun 2016 21:42:00
You alright ed. Is there been any update on reece oxford? Would love arsenal to get him.

{Ed025's Note - a few are after him apex but arsenal seem to be the front runner mate..

30 May 2016 13:29:54
Hello eds, any truth in the reports which link us with kante, I know Wenger is an admirer of him and has expressed it in the past, do you think he will be a good fit for arsenal?

Alam98

{Ed001's Note - Wenger would love to sign him, having admitted it was a mistake not to bring him in last summer. Whether he will now consider Arsenal or not, I have no idea, but Arsenal know how much he would cost. The question is whether they still need him now. He would certainly improve the team, he is a fantastic player. Just not sure it would be the best use of resources.}

1.) 30 May 2016 15:24:19
I'm predicting we will sign 10 top strikers in 5 seasons time, this is based on it taking Arsene a long long time to accept our biggest weakness and react to it, but when he does he seems to think it's the answer to everything!
No DM since Gilberto now where DM crazy and it will no doubt be the same thing when we finally accepts we need to replace Van persie.
Poor old Arsene he's only just decided to ditch all his old vinyl records and record player and get a CD player:-)

2.) 30 May 2016 16:07:43
Hello ed. I know this isn't the real madrid page but has there been any developments with morata and juventus? Lastly, would u expect bellerin to stay?

{Ed001's Note - Juventus are trying to persuade him to stay. Yes I would for now, though I am told he sees his long term future as being a replacement for Dani Alves.}

3.) 30 May 2016 17:10:27
What about sczcneny and ospina? Are we going to look for a new keeper?

{Ed001's Note - one of those will go, the other will be back up.}

4.) 30 May 2016 17:57:38
Its his home town club where he spent 8 seasons before we tempted him away, can't blame the lad if and when it happens.
We'll have some good service from him between now and then plus make a very tidy profit on a player Barcelona helped to develop in the first place.

5.) 31 May 2016 02:59:48
G62, Arsene isn't very hip is he?!? All us kids are swapping our CD players for vinyls again these days.

6.) 31 May 2016 11:02:08
Ed what's the latest with arsenal and mykartarian, the dortmund lad?

{Ed001's Note - there is no latest, nothing has changed, still interest but nothing has happened. Chelsea and Juve are the clubs with the strongest interest I believe, though you might be best checking on the Euro pages with regards to other interest.}

Eds, is this going to be another summer where Wenger makes no signings or makes a very late signings which will not vastly improve our team.

Alam98

{Ed002's Note - Granit Xhaka has already agreed the move.}

1.) 02 Jul 2016 11:40:10
It seems to me there is a genuine desire to improve the team and squad this summer and the club really are doing all they can to get the players we need.
Personally I've not always felt that was true in the past when we chased the Benzema and Suarez rainbows that made lots of headlines but absolutely no headway.

2.) 02 Jul 2016 12:13:22
Patience people, patience.

3.) 02 Jul 2016 12:28:48
Vardy was a realistic target that just didn't come off and there's little anyone could do about that, if he scores 40 goals next season people will say we should have done more to get him but I genuinely feel we did all we could this time.

4.) 02 Jul 2016 12:54:53
Yeah, feel DG and G62 are pretty spot on.

A lot of our fan base are going to get frustrated (probably myself included eventually) when we see City signing Nolito and Gundogan, Chelsea moving for Batshuayi and Utd splashing out on Bailly, Zlatan and literally just now Mhiktaryan.

5.) 02 Jul 2016 13:07:02
Sorry accidentlally cut my post off, so I'll restart!

I think DG and G62 are right here.

Our fan base is going to get frustrated (myself included) when City have already got Gundogan and Nolito, Chelsea have Batshuayi and Utd have splashed on Bailly, Zlatan and Mkhitaryan, whilst we've got Xhaka, failed in our Vardy pursuit and seem to be linked with every player going and still sign none of them.

I think the penny has dropped at the club, £30m for Xhaka is a big purchase for a midfielder who's only really had 2 years at the top level, so I think the desire to spend is there and we will attempt to exercise that.

The problem is, whilst City and Chelsea have near bottomless funds and Utd have that coupled with the 'skill' of happily paying over the odds for a player, we don't.

We're a very well off club, but the media throw the whole 'Arsenal have £127,484,485,48.72 in the cash reserves' every year and it causes even more frustration on our part and sells them more papers/ get them more clicks.

As an example, based on no facts what so ever, as I see it while City can go for, Aubamayeng, miss out, then go for Higuain, miss out, then Cavani, miss out, then eventually think sod it and just splash £25m on Bony to be 3rd choice striker, we can't.
If we're going to spend big money on a forward, he has to be a starter and if we don't get our first or second choice, splashing out on a player who's plan C, isn't really a clever move.

Vardy was our first choice, as G62 says, I too think we did the best we could to sign him, but I don't think he was ever going to leave Leicester, it may of crossed his mind, but I think he owes them too much, coupled with the fact he's loved by 90% of the Leicester population, it would of taken a mad offer to get him.
I doubt Asano is plan b (if we even sign him) I'd imagine he's 'one for the future'
So it will be interesting to see who/ if we target next.

As per usual, I've gone off on a tangent, so, as a final point, I'm positive we're going to make a mark in the market, but if we don't, I'm cleaning the pitchfork ready!

6.) 02 Jul 2016 13:29:51
Same old same old

an early signing to please some, then a total unknown from the Far East who will no doubt be loaned out

How can anyone say we are strengthening the squad knowing DW is out until January, before we kick a ball we are weaker

I see M Utd have signed another.

7.) 02 Jul 2016 13:35:23
Good post D.

8.) 02 Jul 2016 16:41:13
Top post D_.

9.) 02 Jul 2016 19:28:37
Wasn't there some discussion that Kroenke uses the funds to guarantee other loans? He is building a very expensive stadium in LA at the moment - so maybe we are stadium poor once again ;- (

26 Jun 2016 12:07:05
Also eds any truth in those reports suggesting lacazatte wants to move to the pl only if it's arsenal.

Alam98

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 26 Jun 2016 15:29:00
What about the lukaku stories in the paper today?

{Ed002's Note - I don't read the papers.}

2.) 26 Jun 2016 16:17:36
They've said Arsenal have agreed terms with lukaku. But seems unlikely given how much he'd cost.

3.) 26 Jun 2016 17:34:59
☝🏻️😂.

06 Jun 2016 10:17:09
Hello eds, recently lots of rumours surrounding about us getting mahrez and mkhitaryan, which one out of the 2 is most likely to come to the Emirates?

Alam98

04 Jun 2016 20:35:50
Hello eds, I'm hearing rumours vardy for 30mil! In my opinion that's to much unless there is some type of deal in which it will consist of 2 players or something because 30 mil for a 29yr old is very anti Wenger type.

Alam98

1.) 04 Jun 2016 22:31:41
Why is anyone other than the people at the club bothered about how much it's going to cost?
We badly need a striker, it looks like we will finally address a problem case closed and we'll done in my opinion.
