Hi Ed002. Any truth in Arsenal's interest in Real Madrid's Jese Rodriguez and potential move for him in January?

Cheers.

D-Dot

{Ed002's Note - Jese Rodriguez is again going to seek assurances about playing time that I am sure Real Madrid will not agree to and the expectation is that they will draw a line across and cash in on him. On the basis of this he has also said he may be forced to leave the club. Completely recovered from his crutiate injury Lazio, Inter, Milan and Bayer Leverkusen made clear their interest in signing the player in the summer, whilst Aston Villa, Napoli, Malaga, West Ham United and Everton had all shown an interest in taking him on loan. Real Madrid are moving in to a potentially difficult period regarding transfers (with a possible ban looming) and they will be happy to raise funds and it is possible it may return. Napoli are again looking for a deal - Arsenal or Chelsea may be an option for Jese Rodriguez.}

Hey eds. Do you know anything of Arsenal's interest in Daniele Rugani? Do you know if a bid has been made or if there is indeed interest?

Thanks

D-Dot

{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware Juve are not listening to any offers for him.}

Hi Ed002. As it is approaching July 1st, do you think you could write an updated summary of the players Arsenal are interested in by position? I am sure it will stop people asking the stupid questions also.

Cheers.

(Former Ed 030).

D-Dot

{Ed002's Note - Some of this will change and there are major dependencies on (a) players leaving, and (b) how much money the club can raised through sales. However, there is known to be (or have recently been) some level of interest in the following players fairly recently:

GK: Cech (this has happened) - interest in Leno, Perin, Begovic, Leno, Neto, Casillas and Ochoa will have gone.

RB: After the progress Bellerin has made I don't see a RB being a priority.

CB: Abdennour has been looked at. St Et's Loic Perrin is also a consideration for Arsenal, as is Virgil van Dijk. Howedes may just be a possibility. Roma are losing the battle to get Alessio Romagnoli to sign a new contract but Inter has the edge over both Sampdoria and Arsenal who were very keen on the player. Dragovic, Glik and Subotic have been considered but interest is likely gone, as has interest in Hummels. River Plate's Balanta has been watched by Arsenal, but nothing will happen there.

DM: Carvalho remains a player that both Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in and his situation remains the same. He is for sale, but the asking price would need to come down to make any move possible. Arsenal will look to Southampton's Schneiderlin this summer but it looks difficult right now. Biglia does not appear to be a viable option but has been looked at. Asier Illarramendi and Khedira have been of interest to Arsenal but nothing will happen. One or other Bender might be an option.

M: Fekir is a player of strong interest to Arsenal amongst others - Lyon do not want to lose him and Lacazette and are very difficult to deal with - but it is just possible. Certainly Arsenal are considering Calhanoglu and might move for him if Fekir is not available. Regardless of what Juventus say about wanting Vidal to stay, there is every chance he will leave Juve this summer and Arsenal has looked at him – but there is certainly no deal in place. Matuidi remains a possibility as he will probably be available and the club are aware of that. Bernard will be available but I doubt that Arsenal will consider rekindling their interest. Inter were looking to sell Kovacic and have spoken with Arsenal amongst others - but I don't see anything happening. Interest in Draxler has probably gone but he will likely be available and might be a thought. The club were approached about Arda Turan but nothing will happen. Arsenal have made an enquiry regarding Isco's availability, but again nothing will likely happen. Interest in Gundogan will have gone.

W/F: Remains open. Dybala and Martinez will not be moving to Arsenal. Arsenal will possibly turn to Aleksandar Mitrović, Rodrigo or possibly Gonzalo Higuain or Karim Benzema. Arsenal's interest in Pedro remains. Gameiro has been looked at and might provide a fallback position but there is interest from elsewhere. Lacazette will be of interest but a move remains unlikely.

Cheers Ed002 for posting an update.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

2.) 02 Jul 2015 06:53:17
Ed are arsenal also interested in Vargas as well heard Sanchez has begged Wenger to try and buy him or is that just paper talk

{Ed002's Note - See previous answers.}

3.) 02 Jul 2015 07:27:44
Thank you very much Ed.

Much appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

4.) 02 Jul 2015 09:20:06
Thanks Ed

5.) 02 Jul 2015 09:46:47
Ed002, you are a marvel. I love this website!

6.) 02 Jul 2015 10:13:17
Cheers ed thanks for the update. Bit dissapointed not to hear Grzegorz Krychowiak's name mentioned for possible DM targets, think he'd be a great addition to our squad.

I'm interested to see what will happen regarding the striker position, would love us to bring in a top quality goal scorer and the targets you mentioned would defo take us up a notch.

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal has sustained interest in Sevilla's Krychowiak - but he is not the first choice but they may return to him - right now no one has made an offer for him.}

7.) 02 Jul 2015 10:26:28
Hi ed, do you know why such interest is being shown in Fekir or Calhanouglu when our attacking midfield areas are already pretty well stocked? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Fekir is a player that the manager sees as being able to improve the side.}

8.) 02 Jul 2015 10:37:57
excellent work. matuidi would be nice :))

9.) 02 Jul 2015 12:13:13
I assume some will be sold also, plus we have a lot of players who you cannot rely on for an entire season due to injury records

10.) 02 Jul 2015 12:50:44
Thank you for the detailed reply ed002, appreciate you taking the time to write that .

11.) 02 Jul 2015 14:17:13
Sorry if I'm asking an obvious question, but if we were to sign Vidal would that have an impact on any possible deal for Fekir or Calhanouglu?

{Ed002's Note - Try not to complicate matters.}

12.) 02 Jul 2015 14:59:38
Fair enough. Thanks anyway, Ed.

13.) 02 Jul 2015 15:55:39
are we still interested in pedro and is there still a possibility of him leaving this summer despite his recent contract extension?

{Ed002's Note - Please just read it.}

14.) 02 Jul 2015 16:57:43
well id just read on the chelsea page this same thing you did for them and mentioned that kondogbia might be an option however he's signed for inter so iwasnt sure if what youd posted here was equally outdated

{Ed002's Note - Yes, Kondogbia will go to inter and I should have removed him.}

15.) 02 Jul 2015 17:55:21
I'm a fan of the inter midfielder quality player I can imagine him playing with coco coquelin and spraying the ball

16.) 02 Jul 2015 23:03:10
Thank you Ed for the update! We all very much appreciate it.

Would obviously like to see Karim at Arsenal but we've been linked with him for ages now. Does he want to leave this summer?

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea what he wants.}

01 Jun 2015 16:31:18
Ed002, from your previous posts I know Arsenal and Manchester United have a strong interest in Morgan Schneiderlin. Does the situation remain the same as before or do you know if Manchester United are a step closer to securing him than Arsenal are at the moment?

Thanks,

D-Dot

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal are still in a good position to push ahead with the transfer.}

1.) 03 Jun 2015 09:13:08
Thanks ed.

30 Apr 2015 10:34:34
Hi Ed's. Has there been any interest in John Stones? From Arsenal or from anyone else in the EPL?

Thanks

D-Dot

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea all took a look at Stones last season but none have shown any interest in the player, and as far as I know, none spoke with Everton about him.}

Ed002. Read on the Liverpool page that the situation with Lacazette has changed and Lyon have spoken to 3 clubs in regards to selling the player. Arsenal one of the 3?

Cheers

D-Dot

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 08 Jul 2015 11:19:47
Thanks. Any chance of you letting me know who the 3 clubs are?
No worries if you don't want to.

{Ed002's Note - PSG, Chelsea and Roma.}

The Ozil bashing that is everywhere this morning is utterly ridiculous. Him and Santi were the 2 best players for Arsenal yesterday. If we cannot see what Ozil does on the pitch you simply don't understand football. Do you just where the ball is, or do you watch the GAME, the movement, draggin players out of position with a yard run that allows a teammate to be in space to collect the ball. Ozil is Arsenal's best player, closely followed by Santi. It's just a shame Arsenal have a player like this that no one appreciates. In the words of Pep Guardiola: "When you watch the game, you don't see Mesut Ozil But when you watch Mesut Ozil you see the whole game."

D-Dot

1.) 18 Mar 2015 09:44:26
Totally agree with you D and Pep Gardiola, people should record a game and then play it back just concentrating on Mesut.
Its a real eye opener to just what he does for and brings to the team that no one else does, Sanchez is a in your face fantastic player and Ozil is every bit as good but in a more subtle way.

2.) 18 Mar 2015 10:05:44
I understand football but when he drifts out onto the left it pains me. he can't beat a man and his crossing is not good. he slows us down. i can think of ten players id rather have off our striker too.

we will continue to give ozil time but he just isn't the player we expected for the cash. panic buy. good squad player but an expensive one

3.) 18 Mar 2015 10:27:26
Thumbs up D-DOT! Mesut ozil is our future!

4.) 18 Mar 2015 10:41:45
Great post. I think he is so underrated. And most people that slag him off are the match of the day watchers

5.) 18 Mar 2015 10:50:36
Ozil a good squad player? Just a ridiculous statement if I've ever heard one. Him and Ramsey are our two best players by a mile. We are 11-2 since Ozil returned from injury. Coincidence? No.

6.) 18 Mar 2015 11:30:58
Derby, you come out with some gems but panic buy and can't beat a man, what games have you been watching.

Didn't you see him run passed 3 of them in midfield last night, puleeeaaase tell me your joking this time. ;-)

7.) 18 Mar 2015 12:22:02
Of course its no coincidence that our stats are better with Mesut why wouldn't they be?
If Ozil doesn't create 10 golden chances a game of which 3 get finished plus score himself he's not worth having in some people's eyes, its the same with Giroud he can score 2 create another 2 but a couple and some people talk about the ones he missed.
Some can do no wrong and others no right, if they we're on twotter every day slagging spurs but were a lot less effective on the pitch of they'd be heroes

8.) 18 Mar 2015 13:01:14
So in our strongest team ozil starts over cazorla? No chance for me.

9.) 18 Mar 2015 14:07:57
They play together. His best position is behind ozil next to Coquelin in centre midfield.

10.) 18 Mar 2015 14:16:48
Anyday Ozil starts over Carzola. If you dint watch yesterdays game santi was pretty poor.

11.) 18 Mar 2015 15:06:41
Ozil and Ramsey play really well together plus Carzola is off this summer there's little doubt about that.
Ox Ramsey Le Coq Mesut Sanchez
Dont look to shabby to me

12.) 18 Mar 2015 17:06:35
Cazorla is a num10 . Not a centre mid . Fact. he's only playing there because of injury's etc. If he starts next season there I'll be amazed.

13.) 18 Mar 2015 17:27:03
What injuries do we have please tell me again, we have ramsey who can play there, who is a much better player in that position. He has come out good playing in the deeper role which has worked and similarly worked for him in the first season he played.

14.) 18 Mar 2015 18:14:01
We have arteta out out. Ox out who has played there before. Flamini was injured recently bac . Same with Ramsey. Wilshere is out to. Diaby always out

Cazorla did not play centre mid in his first season here mate what planet are you on. your hoodie must be too tight blinding your vision

13 Mar 2013 16:56:39
Resting players for the Champions League, so we can try are best to get top 4 to get in the Champions League. Hmmm.

D-Dot

1.) It does make sense seeing as this year we have minimal chance of winning it and more chance of being able to re-qualify next year and do it with a possibly better squad? and no this isn't arsene
