If Levy is spinning things out in order to screw us up then whatever the result on Sunday I'll still have that very unpleasant feeling that we've received a spanking - if not in the league - in the transfer window.

I meant Callum McManaman - not james mcarthur - ooops

{Ed022's Note - We're closer to signing James Arthur off the X-Factor...}

Everton have james mcarthur lined up. I reckon he'd be worth signing. He's raw but got spirit and bags of potential.

Poor old Arsene. Still trying to look dignified after the shambles of this transfer window. Still trying to look in control when things are clearly getting away from him. Seemingly unable to learn from the lessons of previous years - we are again reduced to last minute negotiations that could make or break our season. To picking from the leftovers and making hasty decisions that bare the hallmarks of half-baked policies.
The club seems paralysed. The cause has to be identified.
Wenger has been left horribly exposed - and it's hard to look dignified when your d*ck is hanging out.
The season's barely begun and the injury list is growing - I even found myself wishing Gervinho was still available. What a two an' eight.

1.) Good post

With Deadline Day looming like the mother of all Xmas' and all us gooners gathered round the tree, faces all shiny and full of hope, wondering what we might get. Will we be that very lucky, spoilt kid who gets all they hoped for and more (a brand new Suarez, an Ozil and a whole sack-full of other goodies). Or will we be the poor kid who's parents can't afford the real thing and so buy them a cheaper, crappier immitation (like a Chamakh or a Park) and we then have to look happy but are secretly devastated and know that we will be humiliated. Or will we be that sad little kid - you know the one, the tragic little doe-eyed orphan who has noone to love him and always gets nowt and because of this rejection goes on to harbour a terrible grudge that festers and turns him into a pitiful creature who self-harms and becomes a nuisance. Exciting innit?

1.) I think we'll get a sack full of goonies.

2.) Can we just talk football and save the story telling for another day.

3.) Jayjay1. a message from arsene wenger, he said bah humbug to your post. (great post btw)

4.) Love it! Normally we are the middle bracket and could expect park or santos, but this time we may get nowt. The rejection will be all the worse because we know our big daddy can spend plenty, if only he loved us!

5.) I feel excited, yet, at the same time I feel I could throw up any minute.

Do you reckon the board read websites like these and get a kick out of it?

Dear Essex, blind faith does not guarantee a 4th place finish. Robbie is making realistic points and I have to agree with him.

Heaven forbid that we should become less effective in the transfer market.

Totally agree. But the 'meltdown' you refer to nags horribly at me. Is it mainly psychological. Got some massive games coming up and worry that we could be knocked off our stride (though we managed to ride a little storm recently). Are we lacking a bit of belief when we play teams with a big reputation?
