So the express are saying two things - our potential line up

Onana;
Emerson, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney; Bissouma, Partey;
Pepe, Saka, Sterling; Lacazette.

Not sure how I feel about the line up as I think we need ESR in there and Laca isn't super deadly. I'd be less inspired than I hoped by RB choice also but a solid back 4 and midfield.

Plus Everton are in for a very big name to be new manager. I'm thinking Claudio Randrianantoanina.

Can I ask why you think we need smith Rowe so badly I don’t see all the fuss, he wouldn’t get in any team that finished above us, I’m not being funny b4 you have a go this is a genuine question.

We all have players we don't personally rate or see anything in Welsh but the vast majority of fans and Pundits think ERS is a very exciting young talent.

When ERS came into the side at Christmas and started creating chances that were pretty much non existent before Christmas Arsenal's results started to improve

It's not about changing our own opinion but accepting that our opinion isn't shared by many other people and possibly we are missing something about a certain player.

I think ESR offers something very different to our other attacking mids/ wide players and that is his off-the-ball runs. Even if he doesn't get the ball played to him he creates so much space for others by running into wide spaces from the centre, and when he does get on the ball he does have the close ball control and ability to beat players and make the right passes. I feel like his attacking spatial awareness is something very few players of his age have and he therefore has so much to offer us in games where the opposition just try to sit back and need to be opened up.

All I see is the amount of times he runs into danger and gives the ball away, and doesn’t track back when he’s lost the ball.

ESR is class, just like Saka. I've seen some comments about what he actually contributes as far as goals and assists but Saka hasn't done much in that respect either this season. Would we drop him?

It's the determination, the drive, the passion and the willingness to work hard that gets him in for me. ESR has every right to fill that creative spot in our squad imo.

He's very similar to Grealish with his style of play and he's a joy to watch at 20 years old.

Colney - hit the nail on the head mate.

Auora or smith Rowe?

{Ed014's Note - Welsh you are a funny one, of course you’d take Auoar but you’d 100% keep ESR.

He’s learning his trade and in my opinion will only get better.

I think it’s cringy they way they call him the Croydon DB, I’d love him to be half as good lol, would he get in any team above us I don’t think he would, good enough squad player yes indeed, starter no he’s not good enough I don’t find he’s a natural number 10 like we need.

Totally agree with every word you say CB mate, he turns on a sixpence and suddenly where there was nothing his one moment opens up fantastic opportunities for tean mates.

He's only had 6 months experience and already his influence on the team is vital in my opinion, his introduction at Christmas and results improving are no coincidence at all.

He’s good yeah but I don’t think he will be top top class. I’m with you on his off-the ball runs Colney and he’s good at carrying the ball to create chances but there is something missing about him. Plus I doubt his physicality to play week in week out for years at the highest level.

He will be good enough in time but we have to give him that chance or what's the point in bringing the young players through? Nobody would drop Saka from the team so why would drop ESR? Saka was in the exact same situation not to long ago and people were crying out for him to get his shot and he did, now look at him. He's a mainstay in our team and ESR could do exactly that.

Just my opinion ed I don’t see all the fuss and you know how people hate you having your own opinion on this site lol, I’m sure some will be thinking I’m having a Laugh, but I’m serious I don’t see the hype for me we should sign auora and for me he starts every game unless Injured.

Opinions don't change facts but sometimes facts can change people's opinions so let's see how we all feel about him this time next year.

Opinions are healthy but being open to them changing is healthier still.

I highly rate ESR, but i'm worried that after his breakthrough season the new boy will be 'found out' by other teams. After a summer of analysing our games the unknown/ surprise element will have gone and with him being our sole creative threat, they'll plan how to nullify him. Similar to Auba, he had 2 great seasons with us where we relied heavily on him. Teams analysed his performances and realied they had to keep him on his left and not let him cut in, then this season he's barely been involved when on the pitch. I know there were other contributing factors this season for PEA, so i hope i'm wrong on both counts, but with little else movement and creativity in the team, it wouldn't be too difficult to nullify us.

Saka is only going to get better and better, amd I rate him highly, but smith Rowe I don’t see sorry to disappoint and I don’t think he will sway me I just don’t think he is good enough for us.

Funny enough I don't think he will sway you either Welsh 😃😁🖒.

02 Jun 2021 18:47:59
You can’t say that though Welshy . well you can say what you want but there is a school of thought about Saka and that is he might never reach his full potential because he doesn’t hold down one position and can start in many different parts of the pitch not making a specific position his own.

I 100% agree Banbury mate, we can all think what we like but none of us know what the future holds, the really nice thing is neither does anyone else, no matter how hard they try to convince us otherwise 😀🖒🖒🖒🖒.

20.) 02 Jun 2021

Funny you say the Banbury mate I was thinking the same, he’s unfortunately gotten himself into the position where managers are seeing him as a player who is versatile, to the point where he’s playing in defence n then as an attacker all because the boy gave his all in a position he was asked to play as we were short.
I guarantee if you asked the lad he’d say get me up top attacking the opposition defence. That’s where he’s best undoubtedly.

Actually I can’t “guarantee” that because the lad would probly just say “I’m just happy to play n push this club to win”

Let him be the foundations, not the builder!

Young players seem to think that by being jack of all trades will help them get into the team. However, as AMN has proved its actually a hinderance. He needs to stop the whole RB or CM choice and pick his preferred role.

Same goes for Saka, pick a side of the pitch and a role and press the manager to play there. As for ESR, how anyone can decide he already either our saviour or totally not good enough, based on half a season is beyond me.

The good news is he is young, so should get better, and he knows how to pass and then run into space, which already puts him head and shoulders above the rest of our team, sadly.

You have to live ESR

"Being an Arsenal fan from such a young age, getting an opportunity to help put on the Arsenal shirt and step out on that pitch, there's really no better feeling for me. "
