Any of the Ed’s know if Monaco have made an approach for mustafi.

Welshgunner

{Ed002's Note - I am aware of a discussion with Roma and am aware he will only leave if any deal suits him.}

1.) 30 Jul 2019 17:59:17
Sounds fair to me, we gave him the contract and he'd be a fool to leave where he's happy for somewhere he doesn't want to be just to please us.

2.) 30 Jul 2019 18:59:36
Apparently he doesnmt want to leave he is happy and wants to prove the fans wrong. going to be a long season if he tries 🤣.

3.) 30 Jul 2019 19:44:30
Imagine if your boss said he wanted you to leave his company where you were happy and relocate your family to a different company in a different country, but you knew he couldn't force you to go because of employment laws.
Would any of us go?

{Ed047's Note - so stay where your boss doesn’t like you, he puts you in a lesser role, ie the bench or worse, the company customers don’t like you and boo when they see you all with the added bonus of press and pundits ridiculing your work.

Or go where the weathers nicer, the pays as good, the restaurants better, the private schools as good and your closer to home.

Umm let me think.

4.) 30 Jul 2019 20:16:32
But Mustafi is happy at Arsenal Ed047, maybe you or me wouldn't be happy in his situation but he is happy at Arsenal.
I've always felt if your unhappy in your job then change because you have nothing to lose but if you are happy where you are then wow it's a huge gamble moving because the absolute best that can happen if your really lucky is you break even and get happy at the next Job too.
It's an absolute no brainer for Mustafi and his family to stay put if they like life where they are, we should never have bought him or Xhaka but that's our mistakes not thiers.

{Ed047's Note - my point was if no one wants you where you are wouldn’t you just rather go and be somewhere equally as nice where you get a new start.

Fully appreciate he doesn’t have to but think he’s kidding himself to say he’s happy to stay here under these circs.

5.) 31 Jul 2019 07:19:47
It would be best for both the player and the club if he moved on. His style simply doesn’t suit the PL. It is interesting that we haven’t signed a single defender in this window.
Tierney may arrive and I would love to see Mustafi sold and a quality replacement brought in. With only a week to go, assuming we sign Pepe and Tierney I will be pleased with the window, but the icing on the cake would be a CB out and one in.

6.) 30 Jul 2019 22:14:28
Before your time Ed047 but Martin Buccan the ex Manchester United CB who was a fantastic player said he absolutely hated being a footballer but it paid better than anything else he was capable of doing so he had little choice.
We all think of football as being about playing each week and I think at the beginning it's like that for all players but some lose their love of playing and it becomes a job and nothing more, Mertesacker said on his least season he hoped he'd never have to play again despite accepting a new 1 year deal.
For some players it's a case of doing their training play if selected and other than that get on with their lives doing what they really enjoy doing away from football.

{Ed047's Note - when I think about it I guess it’s true in all walks mate, I think I’m probably associating it with the amount of money they earn making it easier to live anywhere.

Which is no doubt not really the case for the average Joe.

Clearly most would like to see him moved on but the reality is if he doesn’t want to then like you say, the club gave him contract and that’s it.

7.) 31 Jul 2019 18:16:06
If I was mustafi, I would move. majority of the fans don't like him. Every mistake is amplified, and he is being mocked. good on him for sticking to his beliefs. but sometimes the individual is his worst enemy. Move on, reinvent yourself without pressure. Staying behind and trying to do something he has been unable to for the past few seasons. is at best retarded.

8.) 31 Jul 2019 19:10:30
If work is the most important thing in Mustafi life then he's a fool to stay but if his own, his wife and kids happiness is much more important than his job and if all the Mustafi family love living in London he'd be a mug to leave.
How many people actually love their jobs? For most people work is a means to an end no more no less, they do their job to the best of their abilities then go home forget all about work and get on with their real life.

21 Jul 2019 11:11:18
Do any of the Ed’s know if we have bid 70 million for Pepe thanks ed.

Welshgunner

{Ed002's Note - There has been no sich bid from Arsenal.}

1.) 21 Jul 2019 13:46:30
Cheers ed mate have a good Sunday.

14 Jul 2019 13:19:23
Ed’s do you know anything about us having an interest in dani Alves cheered Ed’s.

Welshgunner

{Ed002's Note - Nope.}

1.) 14 Jul 2019 15:54:32
Cheers ed.

2.) 15 Jul 2019 11:38:06
You’d have thought we learnt our lesson with Lichtsteiner, a superb player, but way past his best.

3.) 15 Jul 2019 12:23:49
Sonyou would say no to dani Alves he’s 100 times better than litch is I’d take him for a season for free.

4.) 15 Jul 2019 13:29:52
Alves has been one of the best RB’s in recent times, but Lichtsteiner won many trophies with Juve. However, Juve let him go and he looked a shadow of the player he once was. With PSG releasing Alves it may be a warning sign that at 36 years of age the intensity of the PL may be problematic.

5.) 15 Jul 2019 13:56:29
Alves has still got it, even at 36 years old or whatever he is. Absolute baller and would do a job for us for a year while Bellerin is coming back.

All that said, I pegged this one down as false from the get go. Surely a player of his prestige would be looking for a Champions League club?

6.) 15 Jul 2019 19:57:56
How true is don't know but it's been rumoured that City want him, 36? Roger Federer showed yesterday what's possible and he's 38 on deadline day 8th of August.

09 Jul 2019 09:48:35
Talk of arsenal interested in Bakayoko of Chelsea any of the Ed’s know of any thing thanks Ed’s.

Welshgunner

{Ed002's Note - Unless something has happened this morning Arsenal is not one of the clubs that has approached Chelsea regarding the player.}

1.) 09 Jul 2019 10:07:12
Ed I saw yesterday you said you don’t want to give blow by blow updates on Saliba, but would you be able to tell us if a deal is close?

{Ed002's Note - How do I possibly measure "close".}

2.) 09 Jul 2019 11:18:03
Fair enough. I knew you will say that. How about this question- is he joining Arsenal?

3.) 09 Jul 2019 13:00:19
While your at it please could you also tell us what Saturdays winning lotto numbers are and who will the British prime minister in 2078 :-)

4.) 09 Jul 2019 14:40:20
Ed, am I close to realizing my life's purpose?

Couldn't resist, have a great day all.

5.) 10 Jul 2019 05:12:32

Ed 02 I know you have said we have spent next season budget, but I’ve just seen online that Stan put money into our budget himself, do you know if this is correct mate, thank you.

Welshgunner

{Ed002's Note - I don't know for sure but it makes sense - but obviously the money had to come from somewhere - it was money the club did not have for transfers as I explained.}

1.) 20 Sep 2019 16:35:39
Thank you ed.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome. Remember, owners can only inject money in to the club to the cap set be FFP for rolling three year periods.}

17 Sep 2019 18:30:04
Hi Ed’s can you do a poll on to bring Wenger back please thank you.

Welshgunner

{Ed033's Note -

Wenger back poll

1.) 17 Sep 2019 19:10:39
Wow! Why on earth would anyone want the person back who put us in this place to start with. We might as well go back 25 years and bring GG in to sort the defence. Go back to back, No thanks.

2.) 17 Sep 2019 19:34:23
Makes no difference either way as we were disorganised easy pickings under Arsene and still are under Emery, I see not benefit from swapping Arsene for Emery or swapping back either.
It's a bit like replacing a once brilliant pair of shoes you've sadly grown out of for another pair that don't fit either so simply going back to the old pair that you changed for a very good reason in the first place, where is there any sense in that?
Sorry Welsh but that's just crazy.

3.) 18 Sep 2019 04:37:45
There is a reason Wenger still hasn’t been appointed manager since he departed from Arsenal. I would or want him back under any circumstances.
My first choice to replace him would have been serial trophy winner Mourinho and still is my choice as Arsenal manager. The most disappointing thing about Emery is that we are no better defensively. The good thing is the rebuilding of a dire squad. How much of that is down to him, I am not sure. However, I am still behind Emery as arguably he hasn’t been able to field his strongest defence if Bellerin, Holding, Luiz and Tierney. With Holding in the team we didn’t lose a single league match last season.

4.) 18 Sep 2019 08:17:59
Malaga has already given up on Emery and with both Steve and RG now admitting serious doubts I'd say Emery is in real danger of losing the fans completely if he doesn't change his ways, struggle to beat Vila convincingly and the pressure really will be on.

No disrespect to Vila but he couldn't ask for a better next game than to play at home to a team who look like they weren't quite ready for a premier league return and who are certain to be involved in a relegation battle already.

5.) 18 Sep 2019 12:07:18
I'm hoping you're kidding about Mourinho as manager. The man is insidious and I can't remember a club he's left where he hasn't divided the dressing room. Plus, he may have once been a winner, but you just have to look at his stint at United to see that his best days are behind him.

You bang on about there being a reason Wenger hasn't been appointed as manager at any club, but you want Mourhnho as our next manager? I haven't seen any of the top clubs knocking on his door since he was shown the door at United.

6.) 18 Sep 2019 13:37:20
A dose of Mourinho is just what we need. He won trophies with Chelsea, Man United, Inter Milan, Porto and Real Madrid.
I recall that Emery only signed fr 2 years, so the position could be vacated at the end iof the season, unless things improve.

7.) 18 Sep 2019 15:47:56
Allegri is the one we should pursue 100%.

8.) 18 Sep 2019 17:28:55
We need Mourinho like we need a hole in the head, the clown failed at Chelsea when he pretty much got hoofed out of the club, he followed that with a failure at United when his out dated style of management and style of play got found out and you want the prize plum here.

#clueless.

9.) 18 Sep 2019 17:59:51
Glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks Mourinho isn't the right fit for Arsenal. Something about him just rubs me the wrong way and I can't quite put my finger on what that is (sarcasm, in case you missed it) .

10.) 18 Sep 2019 18:42:03
Give me Emery over Maureen any day. I don't want a manager who is so up his own arsenal like Maureen ever. I would rather have wenger and that saying something because i'd rather have mr bean than wenger. Maureen like wenger are yesterdays chip paper as far as football is concerned.

11.) 18 Sep 2019 21:38:15
I heard a rumour, the board want Wenger back.

12.) 19 Sep 2019 13:41:57
Wasn't Boris that told you was it Welsh mate? :-)

21 Aug 2019 20:47:45
josh kronke has said that arsenal will be active in the January transfer window hope this is true.

Welshgunner

1.) 21 Aug 2019 23:41:54
I'm not sure we need to spend more this season but simply get the best out of what we have.
I know fans like new players arriving but sooner or later you've got to put the pieces together rather than simply keep adding more or different pieces to the jigsaw.

17 Aug 2019 14:44:17
Of emery drops ceballos for Ozil he needs shooting, the guy is pure class.

Welshgunner

1.) 17 Aug 2019 18:26:43
But he won't Welsh mate, he doesn't rate Mesut any more than you do so you can rest easy between now and May on that one.

09 Aug 2019 17:46:46
Özil and Kolasinac out of Sunday’s game due to security reasons.

Welshgunner

1.) 09 Aug 2019 18:13:25
It seems the incident a couple of weeks ago might not simply be a random opportunist attack if there is a future threat.
Weird.

2.) 09 Aug 2019 19:13:48
Maybe it’s emery putting a hit man on them. You know like burning you car out for insurance 😬

You can tell by the video that it’s someone emery has paid he looked alright going forward but poor defensively 😂.

3.) 09 Aug 2019 19:58:03
That's not a bad shout that Sano :-)
Very very good mate.

I want emery out even if we finish top3 because personally with utd spurs struggling, it’s a bit of a free ride for him, he isn’t good enough for arsenal, that the way I think I’m sure the regular moaning will have a go.

Emery is not good enough for arsenal has no clue about tactics, no clue about defence, and has been lucky that Man Utd and spurs are off the pace as we wouldn’t be were we are now, and I hope and prey they don’t give him the option of the 3rd year
Ozil is just a lazy waste of 350k a week
Xhkaka isn’t good enough but will start.
