Any truth we are intrested in Andre silver please ed thanks.

Welshgunner

{Ed002's Note - Andre Silva (S) was recomemnded to several clubs, certainly including Everton and Manchester United, by a very high-end independent scout who used to play in the Premier League. This dates back to last summer before his loan became a permanent move. Atletico may look to him and previous interest of the likes of Wolverhampton and Arsenal will have gone. My expectation is that he will be offered to Manchester United and they may need to pay over the odds to get him.}

Thanks ed.

Hi Ed’s hope your all well, are arsenal intrested in firpo.

Welshgunner

{Ed002's Note - Junior Firpo (LB) His representatives have said that Barcelona are happy for them to look at options for the player but that they want a sale rather than a loan Fiorentina, Fulham, Wolves, West Ham, Leicester, Milan, Newcastle, Arsenal, Napoli and Roma have apparently all been sounded out - I am not aware if there have been discussions with his club just yet, but they are happy to sell. Milan have said they will take him on loan but will only take an option to buy, not an obligation. This appears the best deal available and Barcelona will take it if they can find a replacement and Milan can sell or exchange a RB (of which they have three).

25 Jan 2021 12:01:06
Any truth about guendozi swap deal with draxler Ed’s.

Welshgunner

{Ed002's Note - Yes but there is a complication in that Hertha Berlin, where Guendouzi is on loan, want Draxler as well. So yes there is an option there but it requires Hertha Berlin to drop there interest, which so far they haven't, and the allow Arsenal to take Guendouzi back this week.}

1.) 25 Jan 2021 12:28:25
But surely if they want guendozi and we want draxler it’s has nothing to do with Berlin apart from our player is there on loan ed?

{Ed002's Note - It means Guendouzi isn't available and Hertha Berlin can negotiate a deal of there own.}

2.) 25 Jan 2021 15:31:08
What if we recall guendozi would that work lol or would it depends we draxler wants to go.

3.) 26 Jan 2021 12:10:07
The scary thing is about this rumour is that I wouldn't put it past Edu to do this. Why would we even consider swapping Guendouzi (who i'm sure we could sell for circa 25m at least should we want to part ways with him) for a player who will be a free agent in the summer?!?

21 Jan 2021 12:12:27
Personally I’d sign a number 10 on loan and then go all out for the Lyon kid in the summer.

Welshgunner

{Ed002's Note - Houssem Aouar (CM) Lyon were frustrated by Arsenal not taking a realistic approach to trying to complete the transfer of the player last summer and with PSG for failing to make a suitable offer. Having lost out on their primary CM choice there remains a small chance they could look to him again. With the impact of the broadcasting losses, clubs in France are facing a difficult time and Lyon may reduce their €60M asking price this summer to ensure a sale. Real Madrid have been approached by his agent but have suggested that they would ideally want to offer a player in any deal. That won't suit Lyon so it might be difficult but is the preferred choice for the player. Batcelona were approached but they will not be in a position to do anything unless Frenkie de Jong is tempted away from the club.}

1.) 21 Jan 2021 12:58:17
So it could happen ed?

{Ed002's Note - The player wants to move elsewhere which is never a good indicator. Lyon are difficult to deal with and Arsenal don't have the cash which would mean taking on further debt.}

2.) 21 Jan 2021 14:52:56
Thanks ed.

3.) 21 Jan 2021 19:36:06
Willian has only played 1 or 2 games as a amc before in a 343 he was playing on the flanks. I say get in a young promising lb as cover for the god Tierney and an experienced cover gk in case Leno gets injured.

17 Jan 2021 12:59:18
Ed do you know if we are the unnamed English club talking to sanson.

Welshgunner

{Ed002's Note - It is not Arsenal talking to Marseille about him.}

1.) 17 Jan 2021 14:21:01
Apparently it's villa according to most folk.

{Ed002's Note - Yes there have been discussions with Aston Villa but it is not cut and dried.}

With all these we are the unluckiest team in the league comments, and the ones about having lest rest then Spurs did the other day and blaming the people who do the fixtures, we are turning into the new liverpool or as I call them victim fc

Welshgunner

1.) 07 Mar 2021 14:27:30
I agree we are sounding very poor us lately Welsh mate and looking to blame external forces rather than accepting internal responsibly for the bigger picture.

We are not 10th and miles away from top 4 or light years away from challenging for titles because of VAR the refs mistakes or the FA and Uafa bias against us, we are where we are because of ourselves no one else.

We like everyone else learn far more from spending 10 seconds looking in the mirrow than a lifetime of pointing the finger and blaming everyone else for our own unhappiness.

2.) 07 Mar 2021 15:13:29
I just put it down to poor play and management.

3.) 07 Mar 2021 15:19:58
Hang on Welshy it’s true though with regards the fixtures all they had to do was move Spuds to Wednesday - we will get back at 4 to 5 Friday morning, do not tell me we are at a disadvantage.

4.) 07 Mar 2021 15:33:08
Lol are not at a disadvantage

BUT yes I can’t argue it’s poor play, just how many times have we gifted and I mean gifted goals, crazy amount .

62’s post about points was very good and shows we really are going backwards . rapidly, but the mad man in me says give Arteta another season.

5.) 07 Mar 2021 16:02:29
What evidence can be seen to suggest we will get any different next season? We have some good youngsters coming through and these are obviously reasons for optimism.

However I would argue that makes having the right manager even more important, not less. What a terrible waste it will be if we look back in 3 years time, after ESR and Saka have moved on to get success elsewhere, and realise we wasted them completely with a manager who insists players change to meet his rigid set up rather than a manager who changes his set up to make the most of this talent.

I see no signs that our manager wants to take the benefits of youth by upping our tempo and running and pressing other teams. I wonder how long before ESR realises he can earn the same salary anyway by running 3k, s less per game and passing sideways?

After all Xhakas done it for years and yet appears to be the first name on the team sheet.

6.) 07 Mar 2021 16:13:43
Personally if Arteta can't show this season he's capable of better than last season I'd make a change, If he can get his team to average 2pts a game over the next 11 games and get us to 60 points total then I'd reconsider but nothing less, Arteta has to be accountable and deliver or go.
Lampard fell below Chelsea acceptable standards and regardless of illustrious playing career with the club he had to go and now Chelsea will most probably make top 4, unless we have the same expectations of our manager as top teams have, how will we ever become a top team ever again?

I genuinely believe next season will be Tierney and Saka last at Arsenal if we don't prove we can seriously challenge for Champions league football again absolute minimum.
Teams who not only can offer champions league football on a regular basis but also offer title challenging credentials will most definitely come knocking for those 2 players and another mid table season next season would undoubtedly give them little choice but to go, and wherever would that leave us?

Whatever decision we make this summer on Arteta has to prove the right decision or we are in a lora lora trouble after next season and for some time to come.

7.) 07 Mar 2021 16:37:00
Chelsea fire the manager if he forgets to bring the doughnuts for the staff meetings. We are where we are till the end of the season. I'm hoping for a strong finish.

8.) 07 Mar 2021 16:41:31
This season was always about arteta working out his game plan, figuring out what works and drilling that into the players and making them play the way he wants them to play.

He's sorted the defence, is working on the attack and by next season that should all be drilled into the players.

9.) 07 Mar 2021 16:47:29
Accidentally sent that halfway through but given another decent transfer window where he can get the players he wants, I reckon we'll do pretty well next season after the madness of C.V. eases off and a decent preseason.

Look at pep, he barely scraped top 4 in his first season but his man city is playing some of the best football we've ever seen in the premier league. Obviously we don't have the budget of city but with some good additions and a coach who studied under one of the greatest football coaches ever I can see us getting back into the CL in a season or two.

10.) 07 Mar 2021 17:46:47
But we've gone backwards this season NE mate, we are 10th and have been 10th or lower almost all season.

How far into next season do we go without improvement October November or another entire season?

If Arteta doesn't suddenly become what we need him to be then what?

If Arteta gets next season and fails again to have us seriously challenging for top 4 we will lose our best young players, Tierney Saka ERS Martinelli will be wanted by CL clubs and they naturally will want to play at that level to test themselves against the world's best players.

The stakes are high and the price for getting it wrong will match the stakes and be paid for in the years that follow.

We need to think long and hard before allow Arteta a 3rd season.

{Ed014's Note - Klopp will be available soon mate, he might like a spell in London 🤷‍♂️

11.) 07 Mar 2021 18:20:37
I'd drive to Liverpool and pick him up Ed014 mate and I'd even go half's on the fuel costs mate 🖒😆.

{Ed014's Note - it’s a deal mate, as soon as he’s free we’ll pop up.

Also think I’ve forgotten to say I changed numbers from 47 to more of an Arsenal number in 14!

That and I was getting confused with 77.

Sure Thierry won’t mind. 🤷‍♂️

12.) 07 Mar 2021 21:18:21
Just remember that no one wanted the job a year ago, who’s going to take it at the end if the season? And be realistic, neither Alegri or Nagglesmann will be coming in, and if anyone mentions Ralf at Saints, i'm just going to presume you want a drubbing of 9 every season. i'm behind Arteta, atleast for another year. Maybe a year out of european competition will do us the world of good.

13.) 07 Mar 2021 22:35:39
1 year might 93 mate but what if 1 year runs into 2 years ?
What happens to our best players then?
And where would that leave us when they've gone?

It's got to be worthy of consideration before putting our foreseeable future in Artetas proven rookie hands
We are not talking about a manager with a proven track record here mate he's in his first ever job and may or may not have what it takes to be a good manager one day.
That's a lot of eggs to put in a basket that has so far looked extremely questionable and only capable of mid table performances and results for 1 and a half seasons.

01 Mar 2021 13:39:39
Hope Pepe keeps this up I thought he was class yesterday along with luiz.

Welshgunner

1.) 01 Mar 2021 21:24:24
Pepe's been quite good lately, really enjoyed watching him. Been a while since I've seen an Arsenal winger torment their fullback so badly he had to be substituted.

24 Feb 2021 10:26:59
Just imagine the goals giroud would have scored with Tierneys crosses if he was still here, there would have been some right dirty goals.

Welshgunner

1.) 24 Feb 2021 19:03:41
I liked Giroud he was an asset for us, but it was wise to sell him to a rival lol.

{Ed014's Note - I was listening to that halfwit Adrian Durham talk about Giroud earlier.

Never ceases to amaze how journo’s and clowns like him go so overboard just because of a bicycle kick! 🤦‍♂️

2.) 24 Feb 2021 20:54:49
Giiroud to Chelsea had to happen in order to make Auba to Arsenal happen.
Dortmond wanted a Chelsea player on loan to cover Auba leaving and Chelsea wanted Giroud in return for allowing Dortmond to loan their player.
Giroud to anywhere but Chelsea was never an option if we wanted Auba at Arsenal.

The rights and wrongs if the 3 way deal are open to debate but how and why it came about was a very open story at the time.
Giroud was reluctant to leave and Arsene reluctant to lose him but in the end is was either Giroud or Auba?

3.) 24 Feb 2021 21:03:59
Ed 14 I thought giroud was class very underrated class touch class finish strong great in the air only thing he lacked was pace I’d have him up top b4 pea.

{Ed014's Note - he just missed far to many chances for me mate, yes he had qualities but he’s not a goal machine and to be successful you need one of those.

4.) 24 Feb 2021 21:38:34
I think Giroud best premier league goals return was 16 in a season and he got around that figure on a regular basis but he was a team player who worked tirelessly up top on his own without complaint for the good of the team.

If Arsene had bought him a partner during the 2013/ 14 season we'd have been champions that season, we were top of the league going into the new year but it was plain to see Giroud wax knackered and needed a hand, the rest is history and we managed to nick 4th place off Everton after dropping from 1st to 5th.

5.) 24 Feb 2021 21:49:01
To me Giroud was always at his best when you played him next to a great scorer. When he played up top with Alexis and Theo, he fit perfectly into that team as he contributed 20 a season but also gave the rest of our lads someone to ping passes off. We were always able to play much closer to the opponents' 18 when he was on the pitch.

I think the problem fans had with him was that they were expecting someone who could dart in behind, run the channels, and finish - someone like Vardy - and he was never that kind of player. I think Giroud could have been a successful component of a title winning side, but as a sometime starter rather than the man we expected to score most of our goals. I'm still happy to see him do well, and I love the goals he scores, though. One of my favourite Arsenal players in recent years, scored some beauties.

6.) 24 Feb 2021 22:21:41
I agree Wire mate, Olly was brilliant in a two man striker role and I agree again he is one of my favourite players too
Quality and commitment, a combination that's difficult not to like.

7.) 24 Feb 2021 22:27:43
Giroud didn’t need pace for his game, but it’s a key aspect of PEA’s game and I think that’s gone.

22 Feb 2021 08:24:03
1/ why did he drop lacca and Pepe after starting to come into form
2/ why changed the back 2 cbs
3/ why play Mari against Man City when he’s been out for nearly 2 months
4/ why settle for a 1 nil defeat when I personally think we could have scored if the team actually went for it, if they scored more at least we had a go, seemed like we were holding back.

Welshgunner

1.) 22 Feb 2021 09:45:17
It was as if Arteta threw in the towel before the game started. How were we ever going to win with that starting eleven?!
He also seemed happy to lose 1-0.
I'm struggling to defend him at the moment, and if we lose to Benfica that's our season over.

2.) 22 Feb 2021 11:07:32
I think Mikel has identified the Europa league as our best option for champions league football next season and more achievable than top 4 which is why he went strong v Benfica and weaker v City.

For me both EL and top 4 are very are equally difficult when you consider the opposition in both.

If we beat Benfica but don't win the EL outright and then finishing in 10th place in the league won't save Arteta but finishing 5th or 6th and going out to Benfica might buy him another season.

To me he's going for the improbable glory rather than Concentrating on finishing as high as possible and living to fight another day.

3.) 22 Feb 2021 13:20:40
Boy, this is some depressing place.

4.) 22 Feb 2021 15:42:19
Davy i'm with you. So up and down in here its bordering on crazy now.

Of course we all want a win, in every game. But we have no god given right to win every game. We lost, a lot of the players were poor and Arteta made some odd choices, but my god, its not the end of the club. A few games ago people were loving the team and Arteta, then lose a few games and everything goes out of the window. Arsenal will survive. We may not be the Invincibles anymore, but give it time. Success needs to be built, not overnight, but over time.

I genuinely think Arteta will sort things out. He has moved on players that seriously needed to move on. There's still work to be done there, but I believe others will go in the summer. He improved the defence, he improved the middle with Partey and a somewhat improved Xhaka, now he's working on improving the creativity. With Saka, ESr and maybe a permanent Odegaard, that project is on the way. Then you improve the attack. Its a massive re-build, that is going to take many transfer windows.

We should not be so surprised and reactive to losing to City. We are a mid-table team, which is hopefully on the up.

5.) 22 Feb 2021 18:29:09
Thanks 77, I told the wife to take me off suicide watch,

6.) 22 Feb 2021 19:45:12
Well said Lefty.

7.) 22 Feb 2021 20:59:52
I’m puzzled as well why people go on a rant every time we lose a game.

Where is the consistency is knocking Auba for being so poor all season. He scored a brace and a hat trick and people say he’s back. The goals he scored against NWU and LEE ant player could score. In each game one his a smash and grab (keeper error) and another tap in. He is not a modern winger, can’t play with his back to goal and is not creative.

Yes he scored a lot of goals before he came to Arsenal and in his first couple of seasons, but I keep saying where as his goals got us? What status do you get in the modern game for winning the FA cup? How many talented players will sign for a FA cup winning team or a team playing UCL?

Previous seasons most of our goals were scored by him and basically nothing from the middle. For example, Saka were passing everything to him and not taking chances himself. Now he has come on leaps and bounds.

MA is taking a gamble or maybe work to club priory list. How much has the club (not us fans with bragging rights) benefited from winning the FA cup last season? I suspected the EL was our priority from the SOU game. In my opinion it’s the right calculated risk because our squad his not dynamic enough to make top four playing 38 truncated plus cup games. It’s a bit of a disrespect to some teams with the money they have spent and the progress make to believe we be turning them all over.

We beat better teams than us to win the FA cup because it’s a knockout competition so why can’t we do it in the EL. Yes it’s not certain but it sure is good chance making the UCL than via the EPL this season.

He should have put this tie to bed last week, especially off the back of a hat trick.

How was Liverpool’s pen yesterday and the yellow card diffrent from ours I thought Liverpool’s one was worse and he got booked.

Welshgunner

1.) 08 Feb 2021 11:12:47
Maybe all the post match analysis and criticism of Luis sending off influenced the ref at Liverpool yesterday mate?
It's only natural to be more cautious about your own actions when a colleague has been so heavily criticised over a simular incident.

Maybe you should all show some respect, could you concentrate on work if your mother was on deaths door I know I couldn’t.

Welshgunner

{Ed077's Note - Strength to Auba and family. It's a tough ask to concentrate on your game when there is so much going on in your life. So take a while to approach when having a go and respect the issues going on in the background I say and that applies for everyone.
I completely agree that it would be nigh on impossible for me to be able to concentrate on anything if someone in the family is seriously unwell.}
