Hi All,

Always reading posts everyday but haven't posted for a long time.

I have a theory regarding lack of Transfer activity.

Could it be because the board have it already confirmed that this will be AW final season and are holding back funds for the new manager next year.

Or perhaps they have already agreed with the new manager that a certain amount will be available!

Just a thought, could be wrong.

finally Ed's keep up the good work and you might want a couple of days off beginning of September if we still haven't signed anyone.

Unless he's been gathering a big budget over the last 2/ 3 seasons (since he bought Giroud and Podolski etc. ) I doubt it. I think he is actually just stingy.

Seems plausible Washo.
If not the only reason for little transfer activity, then would certainly mean Aw/ AFC only spend big if a galactico is available, otherwise look for value and save the rest for Koeman.

It's a plausible theory mate, but I think the reality is we don't negotiate like everyone else.

Arsene decides what HE values another teams player at and that's it, no wiggle room.

I don't even think this will be Arsene's final season.
Stan has his cash cow.
Arsene earns £8m a year to achieve the bare min.
Ivan earns £2.3m a year to do. I don't really know.

Why would any of them want to change that set up!?

4.) 23 Aug 2016 20:56:22
I think it was always Xhaka and Vardy as our main transfer targets this window and we never had a plan B option for a striker really. The poor Lacazette bid was just a token effort for the fans in my view knowing too well is was never going to be accepted, any hope of a deal there has long gone now. We may well have got Lacazette for 28-30Mill at the start of window when we were messing about with Vardy but not now.

Wenger is now only forced into CB for injures but it was never the plan to get one originally. Problem is with being so late in window prices are all inflated and we may get job getting the CB experience we need. Like others have said there is the current market value and Wenger value, which are generally miles apart. Wenger needs to realise prices are as much about supply and demand aswell as the player quality.

Well done lads!
Professional & disciplined performance, you just let yourself down on the 1st leg!

POSITIVES:

Koscieiny (why doesn't he play every week)
Mertesacker
(I have constantly slagged off him all season but he was imense toinght. decent defender next to him helped)
Jenkinson (brilliant, didn't put a foot wrong)
Gibbs (never guessed 1st game back)

The 1st time this season (apart from the 1st 4 or 5 games) where we looked like a well organised defensive unit!

Also was it just me. or did we mark man for man on corners?

It looked to me like we dropped the zonal marking crap!

I know Bayern were below par but all credit should go to the Arsenal tonight, unlucky boys!

Final note:

Proud of all players tonight but Theo. what the f**k was that performance?

WELL DONE BOYS

Hi Edoo2,

I have always read your comments as you seem to know that little extra & felt it out of order last year, when you was unfairly criticised.
But seriously, some of your replies are somewhat abrupt & sometimes unnecessary!
Ever thought sometimes your snotty answers might actually provoke people into having a pop at you.
I fully understand that you are constantly giving the same answer time & time again but most posters don't have the time to scroll through all the posts & are just excited to be asking the question.
Your still the best ED, but as footballers are no bigger than the team, same goes for ED's & forums!!!!

washo

{Ed001's Note - if they don't have the time to read through, then why would they expect any of us to take the time to answer their question when it has already been answered? Pointless as they won't have the time to read the answer will they? Talk about a mindless post having a needless dig and we come to yours.}

Good win and really good football. pleased with KT, he is so consistent and really good goal. I don't want to moan but Pea's attitude in the last 15 mins or so was shocking especailly as our captain.

moaning and waving his arms in the air at KT and so on, he needs to stop looking like he no longer wants to be there and worry about his own game. To be honest he was one of our mediocre players tonight.

Gunner62 you are spot on.

Haven't posted for a while but wanted to add to your comments.
Guendozi I feel will be massive player in the future, if he sorts out his attitude.
I feel sorry for him in a way because of the lack of leaders at the club, there is no one strong enough to take him aside and advise him.
Look at his fellow professionals, who is there to let him know when he crosses the line.

He is very young and naive but has immense raw talent and if he is guided properly, i have no doubt he will become a big star.

He does moan a lot but he is the youngest in a crap midfield but still looks the most accomplished out there.

Anyway, not posted for ages and good to be back.

BillyBob

I think you missed my point.

I'm with you, I don't want us to break the bank and spend silly amounts on a player.

With the scouts we have, we should be finding cheaper alternatives, that would improve the team.

But sometimes you have to go against everything you believe and pay the extra.

Especially if it means that's the final piece of the team to make it special again!

I do admire Wenger for everything he has done but where as before he used to attract potential players, I think now is the opposite.

Just my thoughts though :-)

Sorry don't agree!

Most of the fans want a defender and a forward and that doesn't mean we have to break the bank.

I don't believe for a minute there isn't a player out there that wouldn't have to break the bank or improve our squad.

Trouble is Wenger for far too long, over values his own players and therefore can't seem to find a player that would be better than we already have.

Referencing Sanogo as part of our forward line is an insult!

If I am honest, I have given up trying to understand how Wenger's mind works anymore.

Not inquiring about Williams but asking about Evans/ Jones etc.

Loaning out Campbell but keeping Walcott!

Like I said I give up.

Wengerism,

I admire you're admiration for the Boss but you are coming across as a proper weirdo who obviously needs professional help!

He has made a very good signing, an incredible signing. but please stop all this over the top worship you seem to have.it's bloody embarrassing!
