Good luck to our boy Theo!

He was carrying a huge burden of expectation. Most of us have been frustrated at some point because of him not reaching the potential he was always labelled with. So much that most of us have forgotten all the great things he has done for the club and the fans. Thank you for the memories Theo!

Wish him all the best in his new adventure.

Has always been one of my fav players.

Takes a lot of stick, some deserved, but 108 goals in 397 games as a winger is as good as anybody in PL, if not world football.

Weird seeing him in another shirt.

Shame to see theo go i believe he had a lot more to give to the club. With regular football he will flourish. Good luck to him.

When so many english footballers get a justified bad press for their off field behaviour, Theo was, in my view, a gentleman, a fantastic professional, and a proper english football role model. It just never really gelled for him here, especially over the last couple of seasons, yet despite that, as others have mentioned, he still banged in a good deal of goals. I genuinely hope he does well for Everton, who hopefully will get the best out of him, as long as they play a style that suits him, and with him in the correct part of the pitch that better matches his abilities. If they do this, I am sure they will start to see what he is capable of again.

Gotta say best of luck to Theo. Hope the fans give him a warm welcome. Hopefully that now means Malcolm will come in soon.

I hope so mate. Would be insane if a deal wasn’t there waiting after a player is sold.

Theo officially gone. Feeling quite sentimental about him leaving.

He was never our greatest player but gave his all. And despite injuries (one acl) and playing time, was still a consistent goalscorer and scored some clutch goals. Did not get given the time of day this season despite Iwobo being our alternative. And he is out on the lash every other night.

Either way we still needed to improve on him and he needed a fresh start, so the deal is good for both parties.

Once a Gooner, always a Gooner. Wish him all the best.

Wish him luck and can't help but think he would have been one of the best wingers we had if he stuck at it and forgot the centre forward role, stick to what your good at.

If it's a straight swap between sanchez and Mkhitaryan I'm not. Sure about that maybe herrera or Mata would be better suited or just take the cash and get some quality players ie Mahrez, draxler, Griezman not keen on Aubameyang either tbh Ian right suggested these are panic buys we already have enough players that are not good enough for us.

You think Aubamayang and Mhkitarian are no better than what we currently have? Bizarre. Ian Wright is a nice guy, but if he is saying that, he is talking nonsense. If taking Miki, a player we tried hard to sign, smooths the path of Sanchez out, I would say that's a good deal - if it doesn't work out he can be sold. we could of course keep Sanchez until the summer; moaning all the way to June, when he would leave on a free. Not good. Same goes for Ozil IMO.

In my view one of Malcolm/ Mahrez/ Draxler in addition to those two above would be good business for a January window. Throw in a half decent CB and I would be over the moon. It's possible to sign either Malcolm or Mahrez. Griezmann, I suspect, may be too far for Arsenal at the current time.

We won't get cash for Sanchez.

My choices to replace sanchez and Walcott

1) mahrez
2) draxler
3) Carrasco
4) malcolm
5) zaha
6) Mkhitaryan.

Hi Ed 002, do you have an update on Oezil's situation? Does he genuinely want to move on, and is anyone remotely 'close' to agreeing terms with him?

Reading between the lines on one of your other posts you say Mkhitaryan would be his replacement, and we seem pretty serious about the Sanchez / Mkhy swap so would i be right to assume he's pretty much out the door already?

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is no update as far as I know. Unless there is a significant change I would expect him to leave in the summer.}

17 Jan 2018 12:07:24
Hi Ed,

Can we read into the willingness to accept Mislintat’s suggestions over Wengers voiced concerns (about allegedly pending signatures) as indicative of a power shift or change of dynamics at the board level? Ambitious question, but though you might pull back the curtain.

Thanks!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - You are absolutely correct Alex - there is a power shift and the two major management changes are the future (well the foreseeable future). Aubameyangadingding is a primary example of where there is a clash. It is hard to see how Wenger could look to stay beyond the summer and again therwe have already been discussions about a replacement (which we have already dealt with).}

How are we arsenal fans, just wanted to gauge opinions on the prospect of signing Mkhitaryan from us, pleased, disappointed?

Also Dags, could you get onto Raiola please as this is dragging on now x.

If we get the Dortmund version then il be happy. Don’t want the united version though. To be fair the only player I would take from united would be DDG.

WRD,
I like Miki, decent player, and if we get Aubayangadingdong (Ed002) , i think they can combine well together.

I don't think you have seen the best of Miki because he upset Maureen, but I'm convinced we can bring out the best of him.

Irrespective of how much Mickeyterryjongun wants the man has reservations about coming to us. We don't want or need any more players who have that attitude. Jog on son. NEXT!

17 Jan 2018 15:12:03
Reservations exist about every player. One thing is certain in my mind, if it eases Sanchez out of the club it's a good thing. If Mhkitarian doesn't work out, we can sell him. Otherwise its whingeing until June and gone on a free.

Is Wenger now trying to increase your revenue on the cost of letters for players shirts. Aubameyang, Mkhitaryan. going to cost you lot a fortune.

Seriously what happened to the Smiths, Wrights, Adams, James, Drakes. British contingent is left to the reserves and academy.

I think the offer for wilshere is more than enough for a player who can't guarantee to stay fit for most of the season and who isn't that good as he was in His early years. The only problem is you don't get a fee for him in the summer if he leaves but i think you can get a decent player with lower wage demands.
There will be some players who will leave the Club in the summer and there will be a lot of work for the staff but i'm really optimistic that Mislintat and Sanllehi were the perfect choices for the club to solve the Problems. Probably it will take more than one summer.

Although a fine player I am not certain Mkhitaryan is the type of player we need, as we currently have too many players that can't tackle and don't work back.
P-E A would be awesome, a decent replacement for Sanchez.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - hes another one with an attitude though RG, mind you it seems that most of them are like that these days mate..

{Ed025's Note - it certainly is D16, overpaid prima-donnas who dont give a toss about the club or supporters mate..

The running of Arsenal under dictator Wenger since Dein left continues to baffle me. In the summer window we only signed 2 players and desperately needed at least 2 more signings, a DM and a CB, whilst the contracts of Ozil, Sanchez and Wilshere were not dealt with. In this window we still haven't dealt with the contracts of the 3 players, nor sold any of them yet. Yo offer Wilshere, our best player recently a lower basic wage is insulting. We have sold Coquelin, with Walcott almost gone and Sanchez well on his way. Rumours that Giroud may go as part of an attempt to sign P-E A. Whilst we have made one signing, a 20 year old for the future. We need at least 4 signings, the 2 mentioned at the start of this comment, plus a replacement for the departures. Realistically we need 6 or so signings, which won't happen. I guess that we will sign 2 and sell 4. In the summer Ramsey and Welbeck's deals have a tear to go and I believe Nelsons too, so we enter the same situation we has with 4 players last summer. It's a shameful situation orchestrated by Wenger. The nest two matches will be crucial, fail to win against Palace and Chelsea and the fans will again turn on Wenger, who must be replaced.

I agree in some parts RG. But you can’t force players to sign contracts, but you can either move them on or resolve any issues that may lie. In Sanchez case show a bit of ambition, it must be mentally tiring to carry a club week in week out without any signs that the club are going to help and buy the quality needed.

Since Dein left.? Were you baffled by the titles and the unbeaten season?

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Jan 2018 10:43:03
Skywalks - Devin left in 2007. No titles and we were unbeaten In 2003-4.
Sans go - I agree, when player’s contracts get to 2 years, a decision has to be made, not in the final year, when we are in a weak position and the player and squad become unsettled.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2018 11:57:39
I also don’t understand why you don’t get signings (especially so called marque signings) to sign the maximum term they can 5 1/ 2 years I believe with options of extensions should the club decide to excercise.
