It will be extremely interesting to see the team Wenger selects for this week's matches. He doesn't tend to rotate players, but I feel it's necessary to stop players getting fatigue related injuries. I would like to see Gabriel, Gibbs, Oxlade, Perez, Coqulein, Elneny and Giroud (if fit) used at some point. Presumably Ospina will play on Weds. I would also like to see Bellerin given a rest at some stage.

RG - if he does that and we end up loosing, how would we all react? I get your thought process and would agree with you BUT I don't think it's worth the risk or loss of momentum

RG, I was going to write a post saying the same thing but youve saved me the trouble haha. Think Ludogorets at home will be straightforward so i'd start Ospina, Gabriel, Gibbs, Xhaka, El Neney, Ox and Perez in place of Cech, Koscielny, Monreal, Coq, Cazolra, Iwobi and Alexis.
Weakened team yes but they really should have the quality to get the 3 points. Our strenght in depth this season js far better than it has been before and would like to see us rotate and avoid injuries to key players.

The problem with playing the same players continually is two fold: Firstly, as we have seen, we get positive results in the short term, but suffered fatigue and injury to players, that leads to a drop in results. Secondly, players not used regularly still need to play in order for them to retain a high playing level and to keep them happy.
Perhaps not too many changes in each match, but say Ospina, Gibbs and Oxlade starting tonight, Then on Saturday, Gabriel, Coquelin and Elneny could come in. Obviously aganst Reading next week, we could make further changes. Having recently played one or two International matches, plus midweek CL matches will take it's toll on the players. To combat this SAF rarely played the same eleven players.
Indeed, he once went over 60 matches without playing the same team in consecutive matches. He used a core of players that were 'undroppable'. Perhaps this is the key to avoiding the massive injury problems we have suffered for many seasons and we have the squad to do this now.

i think he was scared after last season, he made wholesale changes against a side we should of beaten on paper. we didnt. he got slated for the team he picked. we just scraped second in the group. we drew barca. we went out.

Who do you guys see becoming the next generation of A-list club managers once the current crop retire?
Poch is an obvious choice I could see I'm trying madrid one day, I'm sure Eddie howe and Ron Koeman would probably get a mention too.
What obscure/ under recognised managers do you guys see (if any) in top jobs in the future?
I'd be interested to hear some eds opinions on this too if possible?

{Ed001's Note - why Eddie Howe? I don't get the hype about him at all. He is another Roberto Martinez, pass, pass, pass, for passing's sake, far too much for my liking. The odd good result does not cover up the fact that he has spent large sums to produce a very mediocre team who play boring football. Nice guy like, which is why the media fawn over him like they did Martinez.}

Someone I rate is Paul Lambert I know since leaving Norwich he hasn't exactly pulled up any trees at Villa or Blackburn but I think at the right club he could have his most successful managerial days still ahead of him.

I agree with Eddie howe comment tbf ed. Just through his name in as it comes I totally his conversation often.
Zidane I do think rate as a manager personally. I think k his stature probably keeps the madrid dressing room under control but that's about it.
I thought remy garde would come good, apparently not.

Some managers are good as long as they have lots of money to spend some are useless with lots of money but great on a tight budget, horses for courses.
Neil Warnock is brilliant at getting teams promoted but not so good in the premier league once thier, Benitez is a very good tactition in big games but over a season struggles not to tinker plus spends like money is going out of fashion.
Mourinho at Norwich I think would struggle as would Alex Neil at Utd and Gardiola taking over at somewhere like Southampton and not only keeping them up but improving them dispite selling all their best players like Keoman did is hard to imagine.
Some managers are made for big clubs while others are at their best with smaller clubs and some managers who struggle in domestic league's excell at international level.

I thought Montanier could come good but he's not doing great over here in Nottingham.
I don't understand how some managers get hype and what it's based on - for example Maclaren has had an adventurous luxurious career ranging from managing abroad to managing the National team (plus he's still getting offers) yet the only place he's done well is Middlesborough and he's done embarassingly bad at some places (once again, here in Nottingham for example) - another less than average Megson/ Coyle/ Jewel for me.

For me, Howe isn't as bad as Ed makes out, he's not that good and has had loads of finances compared to the other teams in his league - except when they come to the PL ofcourse. They're football can be boring, except for last weekends 6-1 demolition of Hull, but he's still got the results to gain promotion time and time again. Some managers *cough* LVG *cough* can't even get the results despite ridiculous finances and that can't be overlooked. HE is a nice guy and the media lap that up, he's definitely overrated but far from dog sh*te in my opinion.

Strangely enough Perfect I'm not joking mate, I bet villa fans would rather he'd stayed if they could rewind time.
He had a tough time there but the club wasn't in the best shape when he arrived and it's certainly gone down hill since he left mate, it's easy to predict big things for Koeman because his career is on a high but 3 years ago who would have taken him above Southampton?

Hi Perfect mate, the question was what obscure under recognised managers do you think will become A list managers in the future mate,
Personally I think Lambert has more to give than we saw at Via or Blackburn and with the right club could rebuild his reputation he was building quite nicely at Norwich, he chose badly with Villa but I think he has what it takes to come back again.
Just my view mate as I don't see that many up and coming I think stand out from the crowds, Eddie Howe would be a super big gamble for any of the big 7 premier league clubs to take unless he went from Bournemouth to another premier league club and stood out while Poch is already with one of the big 7.

True enough G62, that is the question, my mistake. I agree with your bit about there not being many obvious up and coming English managers for sure.
I though Monk looked good at Swansea, Warburton looked good at Brentford and Lennon looked good at Celtic but it just proves that anything can happen and so I suppose Lambert could yet prove me wrong :)
