Because we the fans are split 50/ 50 on Arsene the current team and our chances of being a real force again anytime soon we are easy meat for the media to wind up and get hits from for their sensational stories.
The more we react and buy into their mischief making stories the more they will invent them, let's try to take everything we read as total fabrication until its proved otherwise because over the next few weeks and months ahead we are going to read about Cech Sanchez Ozil Kos secretly wanting out one day and Artteta Flamini getting new deals the next, then when that starts losing effect it will be Arsene has £100 million to spend and then the club are reluctant to waste money this summer on players the new manager might not want the season after.
We are being played by the media for their benefit and they won't move on while we
keep biting.

{Ed025's Note - never a truer word said G62..

22 Mar 2016 21:24:09
Im afraid that is the same for most high profile subjects, it just a way of the world now. Most stories aren't necessarily 100% true but most have something in them that usually bears fruit. The paper usually like to blow it up a bit and pull it about. But like I say, there is no smoke without fire, its just some are little fires made out to be infernos.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - "no smoke without fire" is the most pathetic saying ever uttered steve, try telling that to matthew kelly whos life and career were ruined because a newspaper wrongly accused him of being a paedophile, or steven avery of "making a murderer" fame who is serving a second life term for a crime he did not commit because he was made out to be a "wrong un"..

22 Mar 2016 23:43:52
You could argue that that statement is all about ignorance. May be its fog rather than smoke and Steve can't see this as his view is so twisted against Wenger? Explains a lot. :)

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Mar 2016 00:49:06
Sy4 my opinion isn't twisted any more than yours it might be different but I don't say you are twisted, just accept people do have different opinions than you. It doesn't make you right and it doesn't me either. I realy hate it when people make it a personal thing its not personal, it opinion. Make your opinion and I will make mine there are people on here who can and people who cant, without having a pop a someone.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2016 00:59:39
Sy4 because I don't want wenger as the manager, exlpain Hows that twisted and your view isnt.

22 Mar 2016 22:08:54
And Dave Jones too Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - yes G62, another sad one mate..

22 Mar 2016 23:05:51
Ed,
What happened on Steven Avery case?
I thought he hired a big powerful lawyer to argue his case due to lack of evidence?

I remember reading about it a month or so ago, but I didn't follow up the outcome?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - still ongoing dags, the appeal is due shortly mate..

22 Mar 2016 23:40:44
I agree Ed, and flatly refuse to read any newspapers, especially the ones peddling bile and bitterness, I am sure you know the ones. It's funny, but when you look at the sports headlines and realise they make it all up, it's doesn't really matter as its only sport, but then of course you realise the rest of the rubbish they print may also be made up else where in the same paper, but this time it's on an important subject and someone's life may be changed because of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats my point epping, the papers print something and people think its gospel not giving a toss about whether its true or not mate..

23 Mar 2016 00:55:41
Ed calm down calm down, i'm not on about matthew kelly or steven avery, i'm on about football journalism. I don't actually read any pages except the sport.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i was not having a go at you steve, its just that i hate the media and the way it can manipulate people and influence their decisions whether that be in sport or real life mate, sorry if you think i was having a pop at you..

23 Mar 2016 00:56:50
U know for a fact he didn't commit the murder ed Lol?

G62, welcome to the real world my friend. They having doing that about us for years mate, we got wiser to there games.
Unfortunately there will always be a young Un on twitter or Facebook to reel in.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2016 01:26:27
Ed you do have a point though they are too powerful in certain circumstances but then again fantastic in some of the other more positive sides of journalism.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i am probably biased because of hillsborough steve and the lies and bile told by papers like the s**, they dont care who they hurt or if it has any truth in it as long as it sells papers mate..sad really..

23 Mar 2016 06:44:24
Probably more of the same for next season. I can't see Wenger keeping Arteta, Debuchy, Flamini or Rosicky. However, he may make one top signing, such as Morata, but it is far more likely that he will bring in more lower cost players, such as Elneny (looks to be an excellent acquisition) and give young players a chance, Reiner-Adelaide should start to break through next season.
I believe we need; a RB, as back up to Bellerin. A CB to replace Mertseacker, but I don't think this will happen. There is 'noise' about signing a LB and selling Gibbs. Another defensive midfield player, as we cannot depend on Coquelin and Elneny all season, my choice would be Wanyama or Xhaka. A forward, Morata would be a decent shout.
I expect us to sell or release; Arteta, Debuchy, Flamini, Rosciky, Szczesny and Jenkinson (when fit) . Ox looks a shadow of himself and possibly on his way out, which is a shame. Gnabry also has fallen back after a positive start to his career.

Agree1 Disagree2

23 Mar 2016 08:44:15
Aside from RG repeating for the millionth time that Arteta, Flamini and Rosicky should be sold (something I suspect we all agree on) , the mainstream press is best ignored. Who controls the media and what do they want you to know? It's programming and manipulation for those that fall for it and personally damaging in the cases above. Hasn't the BBC just been exposed for making up stuff in Syria? It's amazing what they can do when they leave children alone. Most of what's published is lies. For anyone interested, look into Vadim Zeland energy pendulums and it will partly explain why these issues exist and grow.

Loosen the purse strings?!
It's probably a good job that the purse strings have not been holding Wengers trousers up for the last few seasons seeing as he has had plenty of offers to spend money that was available and he never. The purse strings have been so loose that if they were round his waist he would have been done for indecent exposure.

So Ospina makes a world class save against Messi and the case gets buried. Had it been Petr Cech. Gk position is indeed underrated and rightly so as Wenger said. tight lipped!

22 Mar 2016 10:22:23
Don't know what reaction this will get. at the time that RVP made his statement about the club not matching his ambition I agreed with him. Since then everything at Arsenal has only made his decision look more correct. Now we are talking about Ozil and Sanchez in the same way. So was RVP really such a traitor?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Mar 2016 11:02:59
As it's always said "the truth hurts". What's happening now and what has happened since his departure is simple enough to justify his statement.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Mar 2016 13:49:08
Rvp did as others do and it is not only arsenal involved, he went to another club to win trophies and better himself. That goes for anything in life people want more and they are entitled if they have a talent or desire to go and get it. You are only here once and the truth is you can't blame them.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Mar 2016 16:15:23
I have never understood the hatred towards RVP.

Sure, he could have shown more loyalty, we stood by him through 7 years of injuries and on his one injury-free season he smashed in 33 goals for us and departed.

But, he wanted to win things and was justified by winning PL in his first season at Utd.

All's fair in love and war.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2016 18:21:37
With van persie I see both sides because of the time we paid his wages while he was unavailable, its a bit like Jack having one good season and demanding a move.
On the plus side for rvp he wasnt getting any younger and apart from money had nothing to show for his career but had seen many former team mates leave and win things so on that side its hard to fault him.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2016 20:46:45
Plus, we spent the £24m on team strengthening.

We got Sanogo on a free.

No he was right. If Wenger had signed 3 world class players that window he stays.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2016 07:59:42
We're looking good and right back in shape. We've got the experience whenever there's a run-in. I believe spurs and leicester will stumble on their way. If we get to buy great players who are leaders on and off the pitch, then i prefer Wenger to take charge. It's not too late to charge towards the title. It will be, if only we lose a match in the run-in.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - it was one game against a pathetic everton side on the day willy so back in shape is premature, i too believe leicester and spurs will falter but not to the extent arsenal need them to, just give up on it mate it will save you the heartache and disappointment that comes with expecting the impossible..

22 Mar 2016 08:18:08
Ed i will only give up if we lose a game in the run-in. Till then, i've got to show optimism. Might pay off y'know. lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i like your optimism willy, and adele is not singing yet but she is certainly warming up her vocal chords mate.. :)

22 Mar 2016 08:25:13
What's more, every team is up for a fight and that makes it somewhat interesting. We are arsenal and tho' we make it always difficult for ourselves, we seem to find our way out in those moments. COYG!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - well you never know willy stranger things have happened...oh no they haven.t..straws are on offer in tesco if you fancy a clutch mate.. :)

22 Mar 2016 09:09:08
We may have a decent run in, but with so few matches left, catching Leicester is almost an impossibility. The Toot can be caught though. In reality all 5 home matches are very winnable, whilst of the 3 away matches, Man City appear off form, have injuries and CL to contend with, as well as the disturbance of knowing that their manager is leaving. West Ham will be extremely difficult and Sunderland, although beatable, will not give us without a fight. We will probably need to win 7 of the remaining matches and draw one, to stand a chance. Both Leicester and the Toot have harder run ins, but points in the bag.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Mar 2016 09:31:48
Yes I hear the tesco lost and found bottle bank is full to the brim aswell Ed 😂 I joke guys I josh x.

{Ed025's Note - good stuff welsh..

22 Mar 2016 09:59:22
Optimism, pessimism. Whichever you choose is a way o control something you don't get to do it.
There's is Hope? Yes, it is sadly inevitable. Of course reality tell us other way, but when your a fan, even if we want it, I think we're not made to resing hope at will.
It is football, we just get to sit and enjoy the ride!

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2016 09:56:38
Ed lol. If we win the league which is "mathematically possible" just as it's always been Wenger's anthem for failing to win the championship, won't vacillate in making a straw offer then. I think arsenal should sign me too as i'm better than Suarez and Messi combined. Look away mates! haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you must be something then willy...but what that may be is anyones guess mate.. :)

Very interesting report that Wenger has been told to loosen the purse strings during the next transfer window and try to sign top players, such as Pogba. This confirms my thoughts that Kronke and the board are not responsible for the transfer policy, but it has all been left down to Wenger, who clearly prefers to unearth gems, such as Koscielny and now Elneney, who are purchased relatively cheaply and then turned into players capable of performing at the top level. Even the more expensive acquisitions in the past were often made on the back of huge sales, for example when we sold Anelka for £23.5m, we bought Henry for £10m. When we bought Sanchez, he was comparatively cheap for a top player in the prime of his career, as was Ozil. In effect they were not a gamble and Wenger knew that signing them in their mid-20's meant the fee could be recovered, if necessary or they would stay long term and justify the high outlay.
The problem is that while funds have been building up, we have missed out over the last two transfer windows in signing a couple of top notch players that would have made all the difference and brought more funds in, as a direct result of winning more trophies. This summer, we need to sign a world class centre back, a left back (neither are top players) , another defensive midfield player, so we have three options for the two positions and a top striker. We will have plenty of space in the sqaud, with the likes of Arteta, Flamini and Rosicky almost certain to depart. I also believe that the squad has become a little stale, with certain players too comfortable and in need of stepping up to a challenge from a new player or moved on. These include; Gibbs, Walcott and Ox, who have all underperformed massively this season.
I am not at all sure that Wenger will heed this encouragement from above and I believe next season may well be his last at the club, as I very much doubt that we will win the PL this season, when it was there for the taking and we haven't managed to win the FA Cup, which has kept the fans to a certain extent, off his back for the past two seasons.

as soon as the heat is on the club, they leak a load of BS to make the fans feel there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

i have never believed a word that comes out of the club since David Dein left.

WENGER and KROENKE OUT.

22 Mar 2016 19:31:30
RG. I think you've bought the propaganda

These rumours come out just before season ticket renewal time every year. Where are the the quotes in this story?

Also in your eagerness to blame Wenger and exonerate Kroenke you for get that kroenkes the boss and he sets the targets for Wenger. If he truly wanted to spend and compete he has had years to sack Wenger or to let contracts expire. He's done neither and the only assumption you can make on that is that he is complicit in the mess

I firmly believe Wenger is delivering exactly what Kroenke truly wants and ultimately the buck stops with Kroenke. Until he changes his attitude or leaves things will carry on unchanged.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2016 19:43:07
Sooper i think wenger fits the kronke model, i do think there is a little bit of accountability for and from both parties. From kronkes point of view wenger is fitting the brief and probably vice versa.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2016 20:15:30
Steve. Kroenke and Wenger are definitely birds of a feather.

I think it's time people realised that they both want the same thing so they need to stop isolating Wenger and blaming him but accept the whole hierarchy of the club shares the blame and until that changes were stuck with the lies and this current modus operandi

That's why I want Kroenke Gazidis and Wenger to go. One of them on their own means little change.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2016 20:20:04
With wenger it's plain and simple! Wenger is selfish and wants to achieve his own goals in football and that is buying young unknowns and propel them into stardom he dosent agree in buying silverware and I suspect the ozil and Sanchez deals were just to keep the faithful sweet. That's why he bangs on about FFP and apart from the FA cups I don't think he has won anything since abramhovich and I don't find that coincidental at all given wengers ethic. The worlds moved on and it will always be a long shot for us to compete with the way things are and have been going.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2016 20:58:26
Sanogo when wenger came to the club he brought a philosophy like english football had ever seen. He was bright fresh and changed footballers attitudes to fitness at the club and he was riding also on the success of the french academy and French football. Now it has all changed and like france and holland before everybody has caught up and out done them. Wenger has not now got anything that others haven't got and they are moving on ahead of him with new ideas on the game.

I think we could finally sign benzema this year. i'd like a double move with him and kroos signing. Then 1-2 more players from elsewhere.
