Next three PL games very winnable if 9 points were to be collected that would make it a very impressive start to Dicks Arsenal career.

I think it's pretty good already mate, 4 wins on the trot, 2 at home 2 away, that's been a while happening.
We don't look super brilliant but players who have previously struggled under Arsene seem to be producing much more of a shift under Dick even if not suddenly world beaters.
Mustafi hasn't suddenly become world class but his effort and work rate ate noticeably improved in my opinion.

24 Sep 2018 11:00:20
At this moment no game is a gimme and although we have won a few on the bounce now every game has been hard work and have been vunrable at the back in all games. I think we would be a lot more effective playing both Lacca and PEA together as two central strikers and just one central AM (ozil or Miki) in behind with 3 more combative midfilders further behind in Torrira, Eleney and Gounduzi. Ramsey has been poor and is no where near worth the 200+K he is after and we are still plugging gaps out wide by playing him there leaving the side unbalanced.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 13:51:07
Totally agree again Ryan, seems madness to me to turn a top striker Pea or Lacasette into a below par winger, yes they might pop the odd goal in from playing out wide but in the long run I think you lose more than you gain.
Rather than try and make the wrong players fit your preferred system adapt the system to get the best out of what you've got, and in Lacasette and Pea we have two top quality strikers.

Could we see another swop deal involving Sanchez? Özil to Utd and Sanchez home.

We need to accommodate Özil or move on.

Front 3 - Sanchez Laca and PEA

Just no one to feed them 😂😂😂.

23 Sep 2018 20:13:50
In Pea and Lacasette we have a top of the rage porch and ferrari but in order to accommodate them bkth we are restricting one to the B roads to let the other use the motorway.
Neither are wingers both top quality strikers so find room for both on the motorway.
Mesut isn't a AA man who changes punctures or gives people a tow home he's a highly skilled technician that isn't suited to towing or changing tyres but fine tuning top class motors, he not above a bit of fetching and carrying but that's not where his best ability lays.
Use our best players where they can show their quality rather simply fill gaps in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 20:31:28
While its not totally ideal, lacca and auba have both scored in the same game 3 times out of 5. that's working for me, attacking wise but ozil is not at the monent. Dick has to play lacca and auba, he has to find a solution that includes both. He has to sort the central midfield and he has to sort right back.
Then he can start building his team, with the type of players he wants/ needs. Auba and lacca are at least working for us providing goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 20:42:28
They are indeed scoring Steve but would score less or be less of a problem to oppenents if both played down the middle?
There are a lot better wingers than Lancashire and Pea but we'd struggle to attract better strikers than those two, personally I'd shape my team around getting them both on the pitch as what they really are apposed to asking one to do a pretty average at best impression of someone they aren't.
They might share 30 to 40 goals between them of we are extremely lucky as we are but what about if found a way of getting 50 or 60 + from them?
We'd be contenders if we did that in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 21:02:45
If they are happy, then i'm happy, if they arent, they won't produce. What the future brings as far as shape of the team, its a wait and see i think. Dick wasn't at first convinced they could both play, at least he is now, so he has to try and work the team around them.

For 55 minutes Everton were looking far more in control than us, in fact we looked like the away side. Talk about goals changing games. The worldy from lacca was a sucker punch and the offside one took them out completely. But hey 3 points and a solid (cough cough) clean sheet. The gunners are back. Splutter splutter. Well done cech, credit where it is due. My MoM.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Sep 2018 18:29:39
Cech was our best player followed by Torreira and Belerin had a 97.2% pass completion rating, plus Xhaka ran with purpose showed real effort and gave some decent passes especially when playing the ball to his left, obviously there were areas you can pick holes in him still without having to look to hard but most definitely a dramatic improvement on his first 2 seasons and 3 games this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 18:41:51
Cech was excellent in crosses, decision making and saves. He also looked better on the ball. MOM by a long way

Need to stop Khaka dropping off to sleep as him and Torreira could form a decent pairing .

Holding did a decent job as Sokratis looked solid again before taken off.

Front two still look disjointed but can’t complain about their goal ratios together nor with Laca’s commitment to the badge.

Still trying to work out Özil and Rambo - struggling to fit into the new look Arsenal

3 points and a clean sheet - well done today boys!

23 Sep 2018 19:00:38
I think you've got to play 4 3 3 to accommodate and get the best out of both Lacasette and Pea and probably Mesut too.
Mesut playing in a Free role behind Lacasette and Pea both down the middle is the only way I see of having any chance of getting the best out of them all at the same time.
I'd pay Aaron's contract up and let him go now as he's so not interested in anything other than personal interests rather than the teams interests.
On the whole it wasn't good but the work rate of most players definitely seems to be increasing.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 19:02:04
Xhaka is a fraud, his tackling is non existent, his midfield presence is below average and torreira spent most of the game, like Gouendouzi mopping up for xhaka. The sooner these fraud players we have like xhaka pretending to be a midfielder and bellerin pretending to be a right back are taken out of the team, the sooner we will start to look more solid. If we are playing with flying full backs (cough cough) ozil and ramsey in the same team, we need proper defending full backs andxtwo tackling midfielders. Until it is addressed we will always struggle to control games. I do actually think we are controlling games less and less as games go on. It is only our attacking that is pulling us to wins and cech.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Sep 2018 19:06:44
Sy, ozil ramsey xhaka and bellerin can't play in the same team. Any two from four BUT this team needs more winners when we have not got the ball. Xhaka put us into trouble numerous times today with poor distribution and never won a thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 19:15:24
Gunner, i think 442 is our best to suit auba and lacca with sanchez left w., no hold on will get back to you on that one.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 19:20:58
62 - I like the idea of PEA and Laca as a front two with Özil behind them in the middle.

That means we need a lot of discipline in the middle 3 while still giving us options going forward. Rambo ( agree ) can’t be part of that 3.

May be it’s Torriera, Matteo and Xhaka ( for more ) - that’s Xhaka using his 9th life with us.

In the back - Bellerin ( get disciplined or dropped ) Mavropanos Sokratis Nacho ( get disciplined or dropped )

We have two fullbacks ready to jump in if we can’t figure out that one stays back.

This gives us minimal width. alternative is 3 at the back and pack midfield with Özil at the tip in the middle.

23 Sep 2018 19:51:40
This is what I saw from Xhaka today.

Running back at full pace when we lost the ball.
A defensive header that cleared the ball from danger at a corner.
An interception getting in ahead of an oppenent to be first to the ball when thd Everton player was better placed
He also went past a couple of players although admittedly then went on to lose the ball but he did carry the ball past 2 players.
His passing was quite often neat 20 yards long and aimed forward rather than sideways or backwards or 2 yards, especially when playing the ball to
Although no graet he knows he can't tackle so only challenged oppenents in an attempt to put them off rather than win the ball where he would most likely give away a free kick and pick up a red or yellow in the processes.
Yes he still gives away sloppy passes in really dangerous positions and he also struggled to pass to his right with any accuracy more often than 50% of the time.
If this was his debut and the first time I'd seen him I'd say he had potential once he got used to the premier league but obviously it wasn't his debut but his 100th game for us.
I am not a fan of Xhaka but his in his last two games I've seen more positives than I've seen in his first 2 seasons combined.
Would I want us to buy him if he was at another club? No absolutely not but there is no question he is improving at last under Dick.

Well that's what I saw from where I was sitting.

23 Sep 2018 19:59:35
I think today was his best game for arsenal i'd give him 5 out of ten. I saw one rating on news now, he got a 4. A bit harsh or maybe i'm being generous. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 20:21:44
Steve he's been awful for 2 seasons and 3 games but the last 2 games he's not been awful by any stretch of the imagination, obviously he's not going to attract bids from Liverpool City Real or Barcelona even if he maintained his current form for the rest of the season but there is definitely been huge improvement on anything before v Newcastle and Everton, ok It would have been almost impossible for him to have got worse but credit where it's due and I can't believe I'm saying this but I'd play Torreira Guendouzi and Xhaka next premier league game up.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 20:52:00
Gunner, i honestly don't know what he brought to the team today that was what we are needing from our central midfield. I just see his partners covering his weaknesses. He gave the ball away poorly three times, he never made one tackle and he allows players to run past him without responsibility. When we look solid when he is playing, i will cut him slack. While i think and see through my eyes we are slack out of possession and i see him weak at defending and not taking responsibility, i wont. We have a massive problem and in my mind he isn't helping it at all. He isn't good defensively and for me he doesn't make up for it with any other part of his game to compensate.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 21:34:38
Cech has looked shocking at playing out from the back, but in his main remit making saves he's been very good, he's made the 3rd most saves in the league, more than twice as many as kepa, Alison, loris and ederson which is a damning indictment of our defence that he's having to face so many shots.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 21:58:18
Eden, as an out an out goalkeeper, he's been the best in the prem so far. he's got a new lease of life, is he playing for a new contract or just playing better. I don't know but he is playing better.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 18:07:24
Not sure how we won this game as so many players were poor but 3 points is all that counts. Cech was our best player really with some fine saves so plenty of work still to do. Torrira was decent but again not sure what Xhaka brings to table really, he was not terrible but had little effect in the game. Ramsey was also poor, is no way worth the 200+k he is reported after. We still need better balance in the midfield in order to have better connection with the front players as they were isolated today. Having both Ramsey and Ozil in same side is too much of a luxury.

Not good to watch but we are a work in progress, obviously there is an awful lot of work needed if we are to progress.

Ramsey will sign another Arsenal contract or retire from the game because they are currently his only viable options.

The entire team was pants. A win yes, but this isn't Arsenal, and they aren't playing "the beautiful game".

If we continue like this, we'll be a mid table in a couple of seasons.

The stats and pundits can say what they like about Mesut, but he's a burden on our team.

I'm not saying this is Emery's fault; these players have been rubbish for a while now. Sad to watch really.

I'm looking forward to today's match, a win is a must in order to keep in close touch of the top four, particularly with Man U having dropped 2 points we need to capitalise on every opportunity.
2-1 to us?
I would like to see Leno given a chance in goal as his distribution is so much better than Cech's, which tends to send panic among the back 4 due to his uncertainty. Although I can't see it happening and see Cech today, Leno on Wednesday v Brentford.
Defence picks itself. Torreira, if fit alongside Xhaka, although Guendouzi will probably play alongside Xhaka. Attacking midfield, my choice Ramsey, Guendouzi and Aubameyang, with Lacazette up top. Emery will probably play Ramsey, Ozil and Aubameyang. I believe we need players with more defensive ability to stop us conceding so many goals, hence Guendouzi in place of Ozil to give better balance, Ozil would be a good option later on in the match.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Sep 2018 10:34:48
Expect Dick to keep with Cech Ozil and Xhaka despite what any of us think either way, surely Torreira must start soon?
Of all the debatable selections surely starting with Torreira is the one play almost all Arsenal fans agree on should be playing.
Arsene in Arsene out
Xhaka awful Xhaka brilliant
Cech or Leno
Mesut or no Mesut
We are never short of debatable players but the one player who unites us all? Dicks disagrees with us on :-)
It's never dull in the complicated world of Arsenals best staring 11 :-)

Rumours that we may try and move Ozil on in January.
I have a feeling that Emery will instigate more changes in personnel in the January window as he will have had time to assess the squad. In his favoured 4-2-3-1, it is the 3 that appears to need the most attention, with a wide attacking player a necessity and all 3 attacking midfield places could easily be improved. Ramsey still hasn't signed a deal and I am not convinced by him. Ozil is an enigma, at times excellent and at times a waste of space. Mkhitaryan hasn't convinced either. Ever Banega at a reported £18m, even at 30 could do a job and Saha could be prised away from Palace, Would Guendouzi be a success if he was moved into the centre of the 3 man midfield? The 3 may be the key to the problems we are having conceding goals, as they currently offer little defensively.
