Debuchy rumour makes sense. He has epl experience and would help our young rbs mature. Although would have preferred aurier because he is an Arsenal fan!😃 COYG

Aurier would look like a bit of an person if we sign Debuchy and not him considering he has basically said he is joining us and retweeting things saying he is joining us.

So according to Guillem Balague (very reliable source) Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Alexis Sanchez it's just the fee to do now, apparently it's less than Liverpool's offer? I've seen to few rumoured bids floating around one being £19.4m but another one being £32m so who knows! Do any of you ED's know of any bids and how much we bid?

why would barca let us talk to a player about their contract with us. if barca haven't even ACCEPTED a bid from us?

It would be non official "feeler" offers to his agent. Agreed in principle as oppose to signed on paper so to speak.

It happens all the time.

hey guys,
so heres a thought on the alexis sanchez situation. barca want suarez and if the press can be believed, are in the midst of bidding around 70m for him straight cash. now with that in mind cast your minds back to the Ozil deal we waited until Madrid got their man (Bale) so it isn't hard to believe we would wait for Barca to complete the Suarez deal and then get Sanchez and with Barca knowing that they still owe us money from the Fabregas deal and we probably did them a huge favour by not opting to buy Cesc back at a lower fee than Chelsea paid I can see that there may already have an agreement in place with Barca for our man. basically Barca, in my opinion, owe us one or failing that a few million pounds still!

What worries me is Sanchez being used as part-ex in the Suarez deal.

Time will tell.

we need to pay the asking price.

if they owe us money that will be in a seperate deal, unless they want to discount it from the asking price.

for the Suarez deal to go through they would need to sell sanchez.

its inevitable. if they buy suarez first, every other club will be aware that they need to sell sanchez or pedro or both and low ball offers, hence they need to sell sanchez first, also they may need the money if the fee is what is being quoted in the papers.

Why wouldn't he used as a part time deal, it makes sense, Liverpool hold all the cards with regards this

I'd say it's Sanchez who holds the cards. If he knows there is genuine, serious interest from Arsenal, most likely he'll hold out to get a move the the club he prefers.

if they get suarez they can still sell sanchez for full value. they are barcalona

From what's being reported he obviously doesn't fancy going to Liverpool so that's a very unlikely destination for someone with so many choices

they have just seen puyol, xavi and valdes walk out the door, its not like they have 200 mill stashed on top of their half a billion euro debt or however much it is.

Theo Walcott's contract only has 2 years to run, hopefully we will try and tie him to a longer deal sooner, rather than later.

I always found it odd why he only extended his previous contract by 3 years. Could it have been a bargaining chip in case we did not sign the likes of Ozil?

White Rabbit - I think it was a clever ploy by his agent, as he will be 27, a good age to sign a 5 year deal.

He wants to play down the middle and part of him signing his last contract was with the word of Arsene he would play him there when possible, hence only signed a three year.
He's always thought of himself as a striker rather than a winger long term and I agree with him, he could be as close as we ever get to another Henry given the chance.

Can somebody show me the best odds on arsenal and liverpool winning the champions league and premiere league double next season? Not a big gambler but I just thought I'd take a shot at em. Both of our chances would be good, assuming we kept Suarez (probably not) and you guys sign Sanchez + more (juries out).

Liverpool are 8/1 for PL and 22/1 for CL. That as a double would get you about 200/1. Says it all about your chances of that coming off. Agree with Eds comments. From Xmas you played pretty much half the football as it was only league you were involved with. Big difference plus you will be in pot 3 in the CL draw. Group of Death will be calling

Whilst I respect your opinions, it should be noted our records with and without Suarez are quite similar. We win just as much, score less, but also concede less. Really think you guys are wrong about this team! Everyone said the same "shoot for top 4" last season ed025. I think your "arsetonian" glasses aren't helping your opinion of us :).

But last season no one expected liverpool to be a top 4 side.

liverpool didn't have CL football to deal with.

and last season UTD were dire.

this season people expect to be playing a deadly Liverpool side.
this season Liverpool have extra games to play
and this season I fancy UTD's chances more than yours. and they finished 7th.

I understand that there are doubts that we will do as well this season. It's makes sense. But to say utd are going to have a better season than us? No way. That team is bad. Just. Bad.

The mood on this site has gone quite negative over the last week or two. almost as everyone feels it's going to be another disappointing summer. This is why we NEED to get something done before the start of the season this year, we don't want the same negativity around the place as the start of last year!
The amount of players that have publicly came out and said they want to play for us proves we can still draw. so let's go and get them.
