Eds. I'm under no illusions. Arsenal will not be signing reus. But, is he still being coveted by Barcelona? If not, is there strong enough interest around Europe that a bid might be made elsewhere? And any interest from arsenal, regardless of likelihood of transfer.

Chimney Sweep

{Ed002's Note - It needs a little time to become clear - they will likely not be able to buy again before January 2016 so he won't be out of their minds.}

US groomer just said one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read on here.

When diaby used to play more than his usual 5 games a season, he was never really best player on the pitch, even when he got a good run in the side he was very inconsistent, he has a pretty poor range of passing, and was never anything more than potential.

Chimney Sweep

1.) Sorry was meant to say gooner and be a reply!

2.) 17 Jul 2014 08:07:58
I don't think its that ridiculous.

Can you really say "Diaby was always best player on pitch"?

Like any player, sometimes he was good, sometimes he wasn't.

3.) I don't know dags, last season rambo put in consistant MotM performances, enough to claim he usually was one of the best players on the pitch.

diaby has probably had 2 bad games in 3/4 years.
granted he's only had about 10 good ones and 2 great ones.

but I just wish he stayed fit :(

Is it only me that isn't sure why messi won the golden ball?

Chimney Sweep

1.) Messi should never have won it, amazing choice

2.) 13 Jul 2014 23:16:15
James Rodrigues for me.

Or Remy, because the way he sat on that bench for 5 games just oozed class.

3.) 13 Jul 2014 23:29:16
Agreed

James
Lahm
or god forbid Robben should have gotten it

4.) 14 Jul 2014 01:10:28
Id have said Mueller tbh.

5.) 14 Jul 2014 10:36:41
I thought Neuer was immense. James won the golden boot with 6 goals, I can think of at least 8 goal interventions from Neuer. Also, a lot of the work he does doesn't get counted as a stat, but for me, he influenced the outcome of games more than anyone else.

6.) I would love to know what criteria they used to award him the golden ball. It seems FIFA are always itching to give Messi accolades

Jelfy and washo. I'm not sure being an ed means they should answer questions. I think it means they're supposed to EDIT and moderate. It's not like a job where they're getting paid. I can totally relate, and know that in their position, would get right tired of answering the same questions when the search engine is there. We're all guilty of it to some extent, so I think if an ed has a pop at us for it we should accept it and move on due to the fact they're doing all this for free, or not use the site.
I'd totally understand if this site was meant to be some kind of paid service, but it's a forum where people can share transfer rumours, that's all.

I think really those of us who are getting moody with them need to calm down and realise that if they weren't doing the job they're doing now, this site wouldn't he half as good.

Chimney Sweep

1.) Dont eds get payed for advertisements on this site?

{Ed001's Note - not the other eds no, and they are editors anyway, not answer machines. If they choose to answer a question, that is purely down to the goodness of their heart.}

2.) The banter and rumors are fun enough but the only credibility this site has comes from knowledgeable ed's - keep up the good work and THX!

3.) Good post Chimney.
Without the Eds comments and interactionsi doubt there would be 23 members signed up let alone 23,000.
You never know what you've got till its gone and I for one don't want to find out.

4.) 13 Jul 2014 19:18:59
Totally agree Chimney.

I think we should send Campbell out on loan to a pl club. Thing is, we've got sanchez, podolski, cazorla, ozil, gnabry, ox who really can play where he can. I think there's a good chance next summer cazorla and podolski will be leaving, so if after a good season on the pl he can come back in and slot in, that'll be great. But what's the point in having him in the squad to start 3 times and come on as a sub 10 times in a season, when he could start almost every game for Sunderland, or stoke, or hull or west brom?

Is it just me that's wetting themselves for the start of the season?

I'm so glad I got my tickets for the Emirates cup!

Chimney Sweep

Have you actually heard this dags? Because if he gets regular football with Everton I think that could be fantastic for us and him. He's a real prospect.

Might just be me, but when I used the search engine I couldn't find anything about him since mid may?

{Ed002's Note - There have been offers and enquiries for Draxler. Both Milan clubs, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Chelsea have enquired at one level or another about Draxler - each has met a "not for sale" barrier. I expected a deal might be brokered this summer and Arsenal are the team that have consistently pushed for a deal. The player has given mixed responses to interest from Arsenal and they will have moved on now. PSG are looking for a player of that style but are likely looking elsewhere now. Schalke don't want to sell but another option to be offered by Bayern Munich and AC Milan is a pre-payment and a one year loan back to Schalke. Although I think the chance of a move to Italy very unlikely now with Milan's interest elsewhere. Spurs has made an enquiry.}

You were spurs man? Since when? I need to start paying more attention!

I'm only going to give my opinion on it once: it's ridiculous. The spursman stuff wasn't banter. There was not one thing he said that I bothered to reply to and while he was posting I didn't post anything once. While it was happening, I believed I was reading the opinion of a school kid. The arguments were poorly put forward, it's was deliberately provocative, and it was incredibly repetitive. I couldn't help thinking how sad the person or 'troll' must be to insist on doing that. To find out its a fellow gooner makes it worse! To find out it was a grown man makes it worse. Why would you want to speak such trash, be offensive to people you apparently like and derogatory about your own football club? To then try to dress it up as banter is ridiculous. Whether or not you think it was banter I don't know. But banter that was not. You were being a typical Internet troll, deliberately or not. I think you're lucky you haven't been banned, and the only reason you haven't been is because you're fairly well liked. Most other people would have been.

Am I missing something? I've not been using the site very much as some irritating little tottenham fan who's name escapes me was posting on everything and it was annoying me. Funnily enough, I look at the spurs page a lot also, and it seems that some arsenal fans post on there pretending to be spurs fans. Doesn't bother me too much, but I wouldn't like it if it was on here. But on to your original point, I hate dishonest persons who do stuff like that, so I hope whoever it was was banned. Though I guess it'll only be until the end of the school holidays because the sad acts that do it have got to be at school, or something really strange is going on in their lives.

I think that arsenal have a wage structure and I don't think that will be exceeded. If khedira won't sign for a salary that is within our budget, that's that. I won't hold it against him, he's within his rights to want a certain amount of money, but us paying it is a different thing.

I don't want us to just throw money at them. It's just not a road I think arsenal should go down. And to be honest, I don't think it's a road that we will ever go down with the current management and boardroom.

Chimney Sweep

{Ed025's Note - i hope you right CS, i think arsenal have earned a lot of respect from other supporters for being a "proper club", and i know it can be frustrating at times but i really do believe they are doing the right thing mate..
