Surely Diego Simeone has to be the top target if Wenger decides to leave. Gets players working hard, good European pedigree, top player (commands respect), good tactician and he looks like a South American drugs baron.

We have far more money than athletico plus we have some good young players that he could work well with, he most be near the top of the list at least.

PTG

1.) I think they have been a success this season, and while they have done things on a budget, their players are more complete as a team.

also it does not matter if they sell diego costa, they will still buy another striker and make a name of him. that's always impressed me about atheltico. they have had some of the worlds best strikers for quite some time now, they sell one and make another one.

2.) I would take simionne all day long, klopp, de bour with berggy. i'd also take potchetino and me i'd like to see big tone with vierra, or henry given a go. People will say adams asnt done any good, I just think he's just had rubbish jobs. Vierra or henry as assistants would be a stepping stone for next manager.

3.) Viera, Henry, Bergkamp, would not be able to tackle the tactical maze that Mourinho, Rodgers or Martinez throw at them.

If we are to have any success and we can do that with a few additions, we not only need a tactical genius, but we need a charismatic leader. Someone who will be brash and give hope to those who have none.

Pochettinho, is a great manager, but he does not speak english and we do have a few german players, I think that would be a drawback. unless he speaks spanish and cazola and arteta translate it into english and mert and poldi translate it into german.

Martinez is not going to join Arsenal, I think he has a vision at Everton, and it may well come true, if not this season then the next.

We need Klopp, and he is the only one who can give us what we need from a manager, guile, courage and absolute madness in the face of adversity, not to mention he may get some of the players from dortmund, Reus springs to mind and he would do wonders on that left wing, with theo on the right.

we bring in anyone unknown the players will see how this season goes and then become targets for 2015 summer transfer. Ramsey, Ozil, Ox, walcott being the main ones, and the last thing we need is to lose any more players, we need to add quality not sell them.

4.) Ive said this for a while, lack of pace is a big problem, and players who can go past defenders too. AW teams of old always had pace, Overmars, Llundberg, Henry, Wiltord, Bergkamp, Pires to name a few, but not for a long time now apart from TW14. I would say that AW has always had blind faith in players that have cost us dearly in previous seasons. Almuina, Cygan, Stepanovs, Santos, Arshavin, Bendtner, Eboue, Song. also I have a feeling that when our top players leave ie: Van Persie, Fabregas, Nasri, Clichy and soon to be Sagna, reason could be that they don't have belief in the manager anymore so won't sign a new contract?

Come lads, let's get behind Ozil in a massive way this weekend. He needs our support now more than ever and we must not forget how other players and teams view our behaviour as fans.

We need to create an atmosphere that players feel they can express themselves freely and without constant judgement. It reflects badly on us as a club and will not attract foreign big name players if the crowd remains so impatient.

We are Arsenal and stand for class and style, so we as fans should exhibit these attributes at all times. Its a very long and hard season and unfortunately we are making things harder for the players not easier.

We are not Chelsea or City fans that have only started supporting our team since the money has flooded in. We have been there through the good & bad times and will continue to support this team no matter what. So. you see there is really no point in being negative because we will continue to support the team anyway.

Ozil is a good player and a player who could attract other good players so let's but a positive message across to everyone in football about how we as fans will lift our players when they are struggling.

If you were Ozil, how would you want the fans to treat you?

PTG

1.) Great post PTG - we almost ruined Ramsey and now what a gem. let's get OZil back on track too - even higher upside.

Also, if we support him when he is down he will be a Gunner for life - even when the plastics come calling

Let's do this!

2.) Top Top, Top shout, PGT
Its obvious this lad needs support, and gentle encouragement, he is not the type to respond to bully booing, infact, no player does, its not Wenger’s way either, So, following on from PGT, We are Arsenal, Get behind our team, Our manager, and this time, against Sunderland, get behind Mesut, lift him up, make him feel wanted, be the 12th man, let's face it, who in there right mind responds to getting shouted at, boo'd at and otherwise abused I dont, I bet 100% of the forum user don’t either, conversely, an arm round the shoulder and a c’mon mate, you can do better works wonders.

3.) If we can not back our players when they need us most then we can't complain when they leave us at their best!
We can't have it all one way.
Back Ozil or in future look forward to signing hopeful kids forever.
The only way forward for our club is TOGETHER

Four true Gunners right there. Lovely posts.

5.) Wish I'd posted the above. Quality all of you. So good to see Gooners coming together this year after some tough years and some pretty nasty banter.

Can't be in London -:( so make noise for all of us watching from elsewhere.

We are in desperate need of pace!

Wenger should have signed, this may cost us big time.

Very disappointed with Wilshere, continually gives the ball away.

PTG

1.) That was what we lacked more than anything tonight, there was no real pace no threat in behind. Walcott and Ramsey both badly missed as they actually are prepared to run on to try and get in behind. Too many ball players not enough runners same old story makes it too easy to defend as everthing is in front of you.

Podolski and Gnarby need to utilised a lot more espcially with Walcott out.

2.) We all know he should have signed, but he know old Wenger and his philosophy."can we find anyone better than what we have". eehh yes there is but will wanna be paying for it. he's waiting for the summer, when kicks in and some clubs will be clearing their books and players fees will not be as much. mark my words guys.

This is embarrassing, i'm shocked at how lazy our team looks. Are they tired? Is the squad not big enough? i'm disgusted by the lack of fight.

Wenger should have freshened up in January, Its a shambles!

Top of the league, Your definitely having a laugh!

Alot of Arsenal fans are obviously happy with Ozil but are questioning why we didn't sign in areas that we appear weak.

I believe that when a player of Ozil calibre becomes avalible you have to sign him regardless of whether we 100% need him.

He will massively improve our quality and will also inspire other top quality players to join us as they can see we have ambition. Make no mistake this is the Bergkamp signing that will push us to the next level.

I have been critical of Wenger but he has always said he is looking for quality and now I believe him.

The areas we are percieved to be weak in, I feel we have ok cover once certain players become fit again, for example Centre Back, we have Mert (100+ caps) and Kos the boss and TV as cover once he returns. TV is a top centre back who has had a couple of bad seasons.

I also feel that Wenger will now add real quality in January or Next summer, we must not forget that Lewandowski is on a free, there is no reason why we could not sign him!

Things that were promised are now becoming reality, we still have to improve but this may be the start of something beautiful again.
