What do people make of sterling being linked with us today? I feel quite positive that perhaps a deal could be struck possibly with walcott going the other way plus cash. the only thing that gives me confidence is that walcott is a liverpool fan and sterling is from london.

glendal1808

{Ed025's Note - i cant see it glendal, my guess is that he will stay at liverpool, its just haggling about the wages mate..

1.) 30 Mar 2015 22:17:28
If Liverpool don't make CL I can see Sterling considering his options, but Liverpool will play the old 'oh he's to big for Arsenal, if he moves up he needs to go to an elite club.' Which as an Arsenal fan I obviously disagree with but if push came to shove and they couldn't get Sterling to sign a Walcott Sterling swap ( with cash liverpools way) could suit both.

{Ed025's Note - stirling is a very good prospect dandan, but some on here are making him sound world class!, he is miles away from that at the moment mate..

2.) 31 Mar 2015 06:33:04
Sterling is being advised well, as he has two years left on his current deal and can wait until the end of the season to see what offers are on the table. The wait could make Liverpool increase their offer. Top clubs, with Champions League football on offer, may come in for him.
I think he is a tremendous prospect, who would flourish in a team such as ours.
Would I sacrifice Walcott to get him, yes. He is younger and I believe there are flaws in Walcott's game. He seems to be pulling out of challenges since his return from injury.

So Arsene tells the board to ignore the fans opinions and to concentrate on the facts when considering offering him a new deal. Good riddance is what I say but what would that matter.

Some Arsenal fans are never satisfied, yes I like many other Arsenal fans get frustrated by Wenger, but in the cold light of day, he is a superb manager having brought new training facillities, a new stadium, 3 league tiles, 7 FA Cups, CL qualification (with the exception of this season - narrowly missing out) , 6 Community shields, a CL final, world class players attracted to the club and much more. Indeed, 3 trophies in the last four seasons is no mean feat when competing against some of the wealthiest clubs in world football. I hope Wenger remains at the club for at least 2 more seasons and that fellow gooners gert behind him.

2.) 29 May 2017 10:43:51
I don't see who him signing a new deal helps us or himself. he's forgotten what's been a let down season. Finished second year before was supposed to push us on failed. The cups great take it and walk.

3.) 29 May 2017 11:07:30
But isn't it the fans opinions that matter? The man is a dictator.

4.) 29 May 2017 16:20:42
No the fans don't matter and that has fuelled the fire.

{Ed002's Note - He is absolutely right if he has said that - the fans have turned toxic like those of other clubs before them. It is extremely embarrassing. However, the board will have already decided that the fans are not worth the grief.}

Anyone fancy a double. I reckon we could do a sneaky double this year. reckon we can win the fa cup for the third time running looking at the fixtures hopefully we can avoid a bigger team in the run in. as for the league that could also be ours with abit more consistancy in the side surely we can do it.

glendal1808

1.) 01 Feb 2016 10:41:45
We dare to dream mate.

2.) 01 Feb 2016 11:27:27
What you mean double? We still in the champions league so you fancy wining that too :) )

3.) 01 Feb 2016 14:38:45
Don't forget the one that's in the bag already boys and the one that really matters! The community shield :-)

This site used to be manic in a transfer window where has everyone gone. Still recovering?

glendal1808

1.) 04 Jan 2016 11:21:47
Elneny - done (ish) deal.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang - here's hopin'! He is a dream striker albeit a widgeon pricey.
Debuchy - oot!
Jenkinson - back in if his loan terms allow.

No basis for this other than rumour/ hope but does that kick things off a little Glendal?

2.) 04 Jan 2016 11:38:36
The price for Aubameyang even if £50 million would be little compared to the return of service you'd hope for and if he was a massive hit and Barcelona or Madrid came looking his price would only be considerably more on resale.

It's whether all parties want the deal and I'm pretty sure Dortmund won't and don't have to sell, but money talks.

Sanchez, Aubameyang and Walcott up front would something for Ozil to play with. :-)

Where is everyone?

glendal1808

1.) 10 Sep 2015 23:43:47
BOO :-)

2.) 11 Sep 2015 00:03:39
Sat at home watching re runs of transfer deadline day to see if we missed anything.

3.) 11 Sep 2015 00:46:28
I think the euforia of signing a superstar, that never materialised has just knocked the stuffing out of some and can't be bothered to write much. Plus the internationals are a real dampener on the season as well.

{Ed007's Note - International football is always a dampener on the sites but even more this one every season just after the window closes.}

4.) 11 Sep 2015 03:41:22
I keep dreaming we signed cavani!😯

5.) 11 Sep 2015 09:04:59
Nail on head for me Steve. can't be arsed going over the same stuff time and again. Just a case of sit and wait now. Match days I might pop on.... If we win

6.) 11 Sep 2015 09:53:45
Feeling sorry for themselves

7.) 11 Sep 2015 09:54:33
The buzz of expectancy generated by the second half of last season has faded dramatically with a less than impressive start and a summer window that in many peoples eyes has left us looking a long way from real title contenders again has taken the eddge off things.
People need a reason buy into a dream and reasons to think this really will be the season that we reemerge as a competitive force are fading fast, a good 10 days against Stoke Chelsea and in the CL opener with 7 or even 9 points :-) would reignite that buzz big time.
The players on the pitch and the club off of it have so far given people more reason to doubt them than be excited by them.
As always actions speak louder than words especially words youve heard a thousand times before.

8.) 11 Sep 2015 12:57:42
Has the window closed? Safe to come out yet?

9.) 11 Sep 2015 14:32:58
To be fair G62 from a fans perspective it was a pretty disappointing transfer window. But now the dust has settled its not all bad we haven't started as bad as last year just need to have a good run and then business as usual (or a little bit better than our usual )

My money is on Jack Wiltshere. i'm not saying he is worth that at the moment, just the amount of cash they throw around it wouldn't surprise me.

Its hard enough for a gooner to go through this page i'm guessing not many as there nothing to read i remember about a year ago you could log on every hour or so and have plenty to read. Now you luck to read a few posts a day its a shame really because its a good site unlike any other.

If that's the case ed wouldn't make more sence for guardiola to come here think he will be a great successsor to wenger and he is young. I know we prob won't get another service man like wenger again but i can't see us like other clubs that are going to be recruiting managers every 4 years or so. going to be a sad time for us fans who ever comes in i think.

glendal1808

{Ed002's Note - If he does it would then make sense he extends his contract at Bayern Munich for another year so that he leaves at the same time as Wenger - right now that is most unlikely. He will be considering options having rejected two offers already.}
