Is not Jackson Martinez the best option we have as our new striker. 30 goal per season and he is a great finisher.

Is 30 milion pounds too much for him? I know he plays in the portugis leauge and he is 27. But not even Falcao managed what he has done in the same leauge.

{Ed002's Note - His representatives are talking to Valencia about a deal and they are pretty sure that will happen.}

1.) Ed Real Madrid want 40mil for di Maria. Do u reckon arsenal will reach this fee or at least come to an agreement with Real Madrid?

{Ed002's Note - You have to stop asking about money - we have no interest in it at all.}

2.) I "Googlade" that (as we say in Sweden) and only found out that they say Valencia is interessted (2 days ago). Then ofcourse said everything was done, but who can trust them? Maybe you have inside information, but I still hold my thumbs! Do you say cross your fingers or hold your thumbs? Nevermind, I hope and that's all we do in the world of the transfer window.

3.) Oh alright, would you believe that arsenal would make a bid?

{Ed002's Note - Right now there are discussions going on with Valencia and his representatives are confident a deal can be completed. Wait until that runs its course.}

4.) I mean di Maria, do you think arsenal will make a bid?

{Ed002's Note - I don't know.}

Hi all the Eds! Have some questions about Lewandowski. what's the reason why Lewa would not choice Arsenal? I mean if we agree with Dortmund. Salary? Or squad quality? Is the reason that we have not won any trophies the last eight years? I think he would be an amazing player for Arsenal. Thanks for making the summer worth living! {Ed029's Note - Arsenal have not shown interest in him.}

jonas_84

1.) Just seen a rumour stating Arsene Wenger let slip during a French Comentary that he has signed him for £25m well could this be good news or B******T {Ed027's Note - B*******t

Hi guys!

So now we have 4 new players. I can't really see Wenger buying 6 new players. So a DM or striker? What do you see as most important and what do you think Wenger will go after?

jonas_84

1.) I think well definately sign a centre mid and it will be someone "big" - Khedira or Carvalho.

Also think we will sign a centre half.

And I can see a deadline day loan move for Salomon Kalou aswell

2.) First post long time reader good work to all the EDs! But I truly believe it's a DM now and that will be it Sanchez will be our CF being rotated with Walcott and giroud

3.) Both a DM and Striker would be nice, But I have feeling now that Wengers spending is done as he never likes to bring in too many players in one go.

If I had to choose between a DM and Striker I Still would like another up Top central ortodox Striker to compete with Giroud, as we are still reliant on him to give that physcial presence and to hold the ball up. If we lose him he have Knowone to fill in that role really.

Flamini although not top class can do a decent job and we have Arteta to fill in and Wilshire aswell if need be, I think we can make do in this area for another year anyway.

4.) I hope we don't sign Kalou 😒

Vela´s statistic says it all! In three seasons in Real Sociedad he has done, in 72 games 48 goals and 29 assist as a winger. We can get him for 4 million pounds and I think its crazy that people say no to this. Just because we buy him it does not mean we will not buy a superstar striker. The big question is, does he want to come back? I have read both yes and no.

jonas_84

1.) The reason he left was lack of game time.

so while I agree he would be a great signing for the fee, would he really want to come back and be a bench player?

because no matter how you look at it, he will not start over Cazorla, Ox, Poldi perhaps but he won't be the first option for the first team.

its more likely that arsenal will sell his buyout clause and use the money to buy the player they need.

Vela will not start ahead of Giroud, or walcott, so is he satisfied being a bench player? if so bring him on, but I think the player has been in that situation, and currently playing every game, he will not want to stall that progress.

2.) I don't want to see him back at Arsenal. Despite any improvements he may have made to his game I'm of the opinion you should never go back to a former employer. The same goes for Fab. but on that note I cannot see him leaving Barca at all. He was signed to replace Xavi and will do just that in the coming seasons.

3.) Would be the most underwhelming signing of the summer if it happens. Nothing against the player but we need better than Vela.

Would you be dissapointed if we bought Draxler as our superstar striker? I know there was rumours last window that Wenger wanted to change him in to a striker.

jonas_84

1.) From what I have seen of him. no. he looks the full package.

2.) Ed has said that we are not longer looking at Draxler.

3.) Yes I know they say that and sorry to say it but they are not always right. Who knows what is going on in this brilliant mind of Wenger.

4.) Wenger and you play too much of football manager, draxler will end up at bayern and that's for sure.

5.) 09 Jun 2014 18:40:27
We had our chance to sign him in January but, for whatever reason, maybe his injury, we didn't sign him

That ship has sailed along time ago.

6.) As others said, Ed and other media sources are adamant the deal is dead (even though the same sources were adamant the deal was done in Jan). But I would LOVE the see Hazard as our striker. Going to be one the best players in the world, very soon, no matter what position he settles into.

{Ed018's Note - lets just assume you meant Draxler and not Hazard}

7.) Oh yes sorry! Was thinking about Hazard because if we don't sign DRAXLER it will be exactly the same as when we missed out Hazard. Turns into a world class player once another club snaps him up.
Apologies.

If we are not after Cesc. Is not time then for Mr Wenger to come out and say this? He knows how much we love Cesc and we don't want to get the official news with him holding a uggly blue skirt!

Just my opinion

jonas_84

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps he could give a full list of players Arsenal are not interested in: Carlton Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Sylvain Marveaux, Craig Bellamy, Steve Sidwell, Wayne Routledge, Robert Huth ...... There must be lots - we demand Wenger tells us who Arsenal are not going to buy!}

1.) Oh Rio Ferdinand played 8 years in Arsenal? I must have missed that. Also missed when Wenger said in the press that he would love to take him back if he wanted to leave ManU.

2.) 05 Jun 2014 16:53:31
Ed, assuming you know nothing that everyone else doesn't,

Arsenal don't want Fabregas back, correct?

{Ed002's Note - Try again in English.}

3.) Haha my god that went wrong.

Arsenal are not interested at all in Fabregas, correct?

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal have made no approach to Barcelona regarding Fabregas at this time.}

4.) 05 Jun 2014 17:36:17
Ah see you make it sound like there's hope!

Do you disagree the the reports from everywhere including the BBC that Arsenal have told Barcelona they won't be taking the option to re-sign Fabregas?

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of any reports from wherever.}

5.) BBC, Sky?! Its everywhere. Are you saying we haven't told Barcelona anything?!

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea about what BBC or Sky are saying. I have stated that Arsenal has made no approach to Barcelona about buying Fabregas in response to repeated inane comments about how wanted he is by the club.}

So I read that Zenit has accepted a bid for Hulk from Arsenal. Its 26.5 million pounds. Its from Twitter and Michael Stafford wrote this. Don't know what this guy knows. But its one more striker rumored to us.

But what do you think? Is he the striker? What does the Eds think?

I would not cry over it.

jonas_84

{Ed002's Note - If it is on Twitter it is bound to be true.}

When you are talking about this weekly salarys. Is it before taxes or after? Marca writes that Khedira wants 7 milion pounds per year. Is this after taxes or before? And how much in England do you pay taxes? Swedish supporter!

jonas_84

{Ed025's Note - the top tax rate in england is 45% jonas, but a lot of that is reclaimed back in expenses and allowances, salaries are before tax mate, so its really hard for them to manage...my heart bleeds.. :)
