Ed, any weight in the Petr Cech rumours, that would be a great signing.

Ashish

{Ed025's Note - just a rumour at the moment ashish..

1.) I would love to see us sign Cech, who is a world class keeper. Szczesny has become a safe keeper, but not a spectacular one.

2.) It could be the same scale as Van der Saar signing by Man Utd.

Whats happening with Ryo Miyachi (or Arsene's bebe)? Japanese team was so bad in the World Cup and yet he wasnt given any playing time. Are we getting rid of him soon?

Ashish

{Ed025's Note - probably ashish..

1.) 09 Jul 2014 22:40:59
So disappointed! Had high hopes for him because of his pace but was never really in the right class category.

2.) Was really impressed with him at Feyenoord, but after two poor spells at Bolton and Wigan I think his future lies outside of England. Hope we retain a buyback option on him though because he's got pace and skill, just needs to improve his decision making which comes with experience.

3.) He could have been/still be a great player as you say decision making needs to improve! What a player he was at Feyenord though

Ozil and Sanchez cost the same as Cesc and Costa.

:-(

what else do I say.

Ashish

1.) Yes and they are equally as good. Exchange the pair & Mourinho would get better performances from Sanchez & Ozil, playing in a team properly set up.
The problem we have is that the team is imbalanced with too many small technical players, playing an over-passing game in a poor formation.
Imagine Arsenal with Matic, Cech & Obi Mikel, set out properly. They would be challenging for top honours.
Wenger's teams up till 2004/5 were powerful units, properly set out. Since them he played tippy tappy football with smaller technical players.
The better point would have beenm can you imagine Mourinho keeping Arteta & Flamini?
In Wenger's defence, we were without Debauchy, Ramsey, Walcott & Giroud, all probable first eleven players. Take out Ivanovic, Fabregas, Hazzard & Costa from the Chelsea line up and the result against us would have been different.

2.) Ashish & Reet, They might cost less, but c'mon guys, its wages. We're not breaking the wage structure and that's it. A £140,000 week wage ceiling is pretty high and reasonable if you ask me. So let's stop dreaming about they cost the same or less, Cesc salary is a reported £220k a week - nuff said.

3.) 08 Oct 2014 09:44:28
Day, u realise ure wage bill is higher than chelsea yes?

4.) Spot on reply Robbie is the tatics not the players

5.) 08 Oct 2014 11:01:20
How come Arsenal's wage bill is significantly higher than Chelsea's? So hard to believe.

6.) 08 Oct 2014 11:38:58
Podolski is on £110k alone.

We have also just got a load of contract extensions signed up so obviously the wage bill has grown (not so sure Chelsea have done this recently)

7.) 08 Oct 2014 12:56:18
Azpi, Courtois, Cahill, Hazard all signed extensions. The only players on short term contracts are Schwarzer and Terry.

8.) If indeed our wage bill is higher that is crazy, I thought when we got rid of the "dead wood" it would have reduced, even taking into account the 2 high profile signings.

To me it seems like we have a management problem all through the club.

We are awful at getting prospective players signed.

We have Injuries that are meant to be short term that carry on for ever and a day.

We get held to ransom when we try to buy or sell and often get shafted.

Wenger management has already been taked to death on here.

What is happening to my football club?

9.) Firstly cesc wasnt available when we bought ozil, but when he was available we had too many players similar. As for Costa and Sanchez they are very different players and Sanchez looks a great signing imo

Oh No!

Arsenal Football Club have lost a High Court challenge over the number of concerts that they can hold at Emirates Stadium.

The Premier League side had applied to double the number of music concerts held at the stadium in Holloway, north London, from three to six.

"Arsenal's French midfielder Abou Diaby, 28, is confident he can establish himself at the club this season after enduring 39 injury and fitness lay-offs since joining the Gunners from Auxerre in 2006. "

cool he is confident, no need for additional signings then :-)

Ashish

1.) I like Diaby (christ knows why, i've hardly seen him play)
But I think its time, we payed him when he plays. Its all good and well feeling fit at the start, then crocked every year, 3 weeks in,
I keep expecting him to pop up on the benifits street program.

2.) In fairness to old porcelain legs, I think he stopped taking wages after this last stint on the sidelines, said he couldn't do it.

Jose' comment, Scholes assessment, the fans booing in the stand, you guys think Wenger will take the hint? or will we just win the FA cup and everything will be forgotten.

Next year looks good though with Jack, Ramsey getting back, Ozil hopefully improving and then maybe 1-2 new signings (a new manager hopefully?).

Ashish

1.) Namaste bhai, personally want wenger to go because by staying he is just ruining his legacy, but I don't think he wil go right now he will sign the contract that was offered to him . As far as next year goes it definitely looks bright specially if we get players like draxler, bender and a good striker and by the way Diaby is also fit

What would be the score be this weekend against city?

very scared :(

Ashish

1.) Arsenal 0 M City 4

2.) I just hope city come here to play for a nil nil draw then the score might only be six or seven.

3.) 1-0 arsenal. simply because its a late kick off :)
na really 1-0 because we are going to start defensively score early in the second half and play out the rest of the game :)

4.) Either 1 4 or worse to city or 3 1 to us, doing Liverpool a nice favour but sadly Chelski one to. Ying and Yang I guess
Wouldn't surprise me if now its to late we pull off a nice MASSIVE shock

5.) 1-1 at half. City win 3-1

I hope it is true but I have been hoping and shouting for this now for 4 years. The board doesn't want him out, he seems to be shameless and doesn't want to move on.

Remy is amazing. Some of his goals have been world class. We should have signed him in the summer.

Gunner62, that's an awesome explanation :-) Some one must have really turned the screws on him for some of the signings (Silvestre!).

The Gunner, shame on you that you can't handle viewpoints which are not in line with your thinking.

Also Lakerville, 5 year plans do not finish in the 9th year :-) Where are you coming up with these numbers anyway? Heinz sauce?

Serge and Ramsey were stand outs today. Wilshire is slowly getting into the rythm too, with him and Ozil only to get better this season looks something to look forward to.

Wenger is an person for even taking back Flamini, people who leave us for "greener pastures" but then find "the grass is not green on the other side" should not be taken back.

Bad for the morale. {Ed027's Note - so you wouldn't take Cesc back?, the man who forced through a move?

Lakerville, Rooney apparently has tried to leave ManUtd many times but the managers haven't buckled. Wenger on the other hand seems to have buckled many times over. Also we have shown profit in the last many years purely based on player sales so I think it is a 'strategy' rather than player power (to sell to balance the books).

Ramsey will not be sold next year because I belive with some strengthening in Jan we will win something this year.
