We are going to get Guilavogui and Park could go the other way.

NI Gunner

1.) With Flamini joining, your rumour is an absolut fail! Maybe park will go to saint etiene, but gilavogui will never join!

2.) Don't need him. Got Flamini, Flamini, Diaby - who will literally be a new signing - and Flamini.

29 Aug 2013 11:28:56
Flamini's a done deal then. Handy player but better have 4/5 top signings along with him come Deadline Day.

IN
Flamini
Sanogo

That's some window so far LOL.

NI Gunner

1.) We should redefine "super quality" and "special players" as meaning A- French, and B- free. heh heh. Eds, would Flamini be able to play against spuds, or is there a clearence period required?

{Ed022's Note - Any signings can play as long as they are signed by midnight Friday (as far as I am aware). Therefore, Flamini is eligible to play as it stands...}

ITV reporting we've bid £20m for Pogba. Please happen, we need someone like this.

NI Gunner

1.) Would love this one to be true he could definitely do what patrick Vieira did for us all those years ago.some how can't see it happening tho

2.) Would much prefer a world class proven striker than a youngster with potential. 5 in 27 is not great is it.

3.) Please let it be correct!

Class player and someone who will make a real difference to our team.

We are crying out for a classs holding midfielder.

4.) Hes not a striker so don't see what your point is chess?

5.) Chess,

He is a midfielder or were you being sarcastic?

6.) What you on about Chess? He's a CDM!

7.) Seeing as Pogba is a DM it's awesome

8.) Happy with that goal ratio for a CDM

He could change the side

Bring him on

9.) Talking about designated positions for midfielders who are prolific goalscorers I would say they are quite difficult to pigeon-hole. They seem to have an element of free rein to their play. I am thinking of Lamps, Scholesey, Robbo - wouldn't like to say they are an obvious DM or CAM or anything really. I think if you have some one like that you maybe need to shape the rest of the team around them. For me I have never seen Rooney as an out an out ST. For me he is closer to those guys mentioned above.

Gustavo's agent said a few days ago he would announce his future on Thursday (today). Hopefully us, but IF he does choose Wolfsburg over us then we are doomed. Whether it's because we aren't offering him the correct wages, won't match his transfer fee or can't guarantee him a starting place it doesn't matter. Serious questions would need to be asked.

But let's wait and see.

Alan Brazil stated that he's heard strong rumours that Rooney is Emirates bound.

I don't believe it at all myself. Probably on a wind up. Just passing it on.

NI Gunner

1.) If they said it defo ain't happening!

2.) I heard it too. He said he wants Shrek to stay at United so maybe it is true as he didn't seem that happy. Suggested they were in talks?!

3.) He the most likely of the world class st we aparantly are after, but knowing tight arse he would rather another free bee

4.) 14 Aug 2013 22:33:15
quite a few reliable people on twitter had said we were after him and in so much words said he would join us from a while back. as we can see evidently with arsenal completing big deals takes time I hope it's true and a few newspapers yesterday reported we were offering 33m for rooney. I guess we'll know sep 2.

Haven't posted here in ages because Wenger is just ruining the club and it's too depressing to think about, but I was wondering is there anyone that STILL inexplicably thinks he should be our manager?

If yes, WHY?

NI Gunner

1.) 02 Jan 2015 17:48:45
Wenger should. Of been sacked. 5 years ago

2.) Me
Because I don't think their is anyone beter out their, unless you know of someone

3.) 02 Jan 2015 19:13:46
AW is still the best man for the job in my mind but he does need to sort out our team and performances as we have issues with depth of squad, injuries and a few first team members need upgrading or at least replacements in to bed them eg Arteta

4.) 02 Jan 2015 19:36:52
Agree with Welsh,

Unless Klopp or Simeone decide to jump ship, Wenger still deserves to captain our sinking ship.

Let's just hope he gets his finger out and signs a minimum of 2 top players.

5.) Is that you again maladag gooner?

6.) 02 Jan 2015 20:51:32
Lol 337,

Maladag? Love it.

How many blooming nicknames do I have on this site? :-)

7.) Hate when people say no1 can do a better job. If that's true let's throw in the white towel now.

I'm no grass but red dog and Dag's still love him. Shhhh

8.) 02 Jan 2015 21:43:44
Keep it under ya hat Derby :-)

Seeing a lot of people post the transfers they think we need, so with £100m to spend, here's mine:

GK - Caballero - £5m
RB - Aurier - £8m
CDM - Bender - £20m
LW - Di Maria - £35m
ST - Balotelli - £25m
ST - Vela - £3.5m

CB - Stones - £12m (if Vermaelen leaves)

Wenger has to go. The footballing world has caught up with him, and completely eclipsed him. and he's too stubborn to adapt.

People will say, who can replace him?

Garcia, Martinez (I was wrong about him), Klopp, Conte, Weinzierl, Simeone, Low, De Boer, etc.

Plenty of capable managers that would not only do a better job, have an actual game plan, spend money available, and all for less wages than Wenger. Maybe they'd even sort that flight medical team out.

Wenger is beyond negligent. How can Tony Pulis send a team out and beat Chelsea and we go out and get pillaged? Embarrassing, and it's not just a one-off either. He should of been out the door after the 8-2 at Utd.

A new manager, and four/five top signings with pace and power.

EG:-

Klopp.

Casillas, Pizczek, Pogba, Di Maria, Lukaku.

Guilavogui has chosen A.Madrid. They offered more cash. Can't see a DM being signed now. Especially after how well Flamini played when he came on.

NI Gunner

1.) Wenger used decoys this window. He was not going to sign Guilavogui. If he was, he would have sold Coquelin rather than loan out.

30 Aug 2013 21:46:26
I have a feeling Wenger's off next Summer and he's keeping the cash for his successor, which is personic as we'll not finish top 4 with our current squad. So any new manager won't have the best players eager to join. Now or never.

NI Gunner

1.) Been hearing that for the last two years, sadly never happens :(

2.) Yes that's it, destroy the club utterly, then when you leave say look how much money I left you?

ED002 - "Bids can be made and transfers agreed in principle at any time - they cannot be completed or processed before the window opens."

Can you explain how then, Ter-Stegen was officially unveiled as a Barcelona player?

NI Gunner

{Ed002's Note - The agreement was reached months ago but the transfer will not be processed until the window opens. Why is this so difficult to understand?}

Worse than signing Flamini IMO. £16m down the drain. We don't need Cabaye, we need a CDM.

Really don't rate Großkreutz.

I follow BVB a bit and I agree with Ed.

Suarez, Bender, Sakho would be distinctly better.

Apparently there is a difference of 20k/week between what Cesar wants and what we're offering. Why don't we give him what he wants and forget about this tragedy! Schalke don't even want him FFS!

"Ok he's been paid well but he'd probably have earnt more if he'd gone to another club."

No. I hate statements like this. Yes, he could have left for Madrid etc. Why didn't he? JOB SECURITY! Here at Arsenal he's allowed to fail, fail, fail and fail again. At Real Madrid et al, you can't fail and that's why Wenger didn't leave, stop harping on about how loyal he is.

He's deluded. He genuinely thinks he's the ONLY man that can do the job. He incessantly jabs at fans or pundits who tell him where he's going wrong. He's an egomaniac. Stevie Wonder could tell you Cygan wasn't good enough, Stepanovs, Senderos, Almunia, Bendtner, Denilson and countless others. They stayed at the club 3/4 years too long, out of nothing other than Wenger's stubbornness, not wanting to admit he was wrong.

". definitely not during a game"

Okay. Fine. When should we make our collective voices heard. All Skype him together?

Even IF, and given the squad and manager we have, even if we win the FA Cup and finish 4th Wenger has to go. Tactically woeful. Stubborn. Abysmal team selection. Abhorrent in the transfer window, considerably more misses than hits.

The sad thing is, our club is set up so well for a manager to succeed. The stadium is there, the finances are there, the commercial value of the club continues to rise. and all that's left is an ambitious manager with fresh ideas who is prepared to put the club first, not his or his darling players ego's.

Mangala. Can play CB or CDM. Rumour on Twitter we are going to match his release clause of £38m. Crazy if true but the guy is a beast! {Ed044's Note - You can discount Mangala mate.}

He does. His penny grabber ;)

Honestly though, he'd need to have. We as fans have been very patient with them and it's time that was rewarded.

Real Madrid job was open this Summer and they appointed Ancelotti.

You have to be on something. Sniffing too much glue!

I have already posted that he's stuck it to me and a lot of others who doubted he'd come good. That's the key "he's come good". He hasn't always been good, and to imply he was playing this well before his injury is absurd. Because he wasn't.

Many, including myself criticised him and his performances for the last few years, and rightly so! He wasn't performing well enough to be Arsenal standard. I mean, come on. It's hardly as if the people who slated his performances did so without reason, what would be the point in that?

It WAS justified. And now it seems those that thought he'd come good sooner or later have been vindicated for doing so. Still early days but he's winning a lot over, and fair play to him. He's upped his game and people appreciate that. All there is to it. Hope he keeps it up!

Regarding the who's right and who's wrong argument:

NO ONE IS WRONG!

We all had opinions, still do. Opinions are just that, opinions. Not fact! No right, no wrong.

All that matters is that he is performing extremely well at the moment, and that only benefits ARSENAL!

Enough of the ego stroking!
