Looks like we are seriously looking into Remy Cabella,
Serious talent remember him tairing us apart every time he got the the ball,
Exactly what we need IMO, Can beat a man every time

Wilmslow Gooner

1.) Lol quoted 100mil euros

2.) I would love to see him in arsenal. He is very talented young men.

3.) They asked for 60m for Giroud we got him for far less than that,
If we get him it will be for around 10-15m

4.) However, he has a price tag of 100 million

5.) He's also 5ft 7, as is Cazorla. Walcott, Ox and Wilshere aren't much bigger. That's too many short-arses in one midfield for my liking.

6.) Its quoted by the same men who said we have to pay 50m for Giroud but we paid 9.6m for him so we might be able to get remy cabella for less than 20m

7.) Oh good, a 5' 7" attacking midfielder. Just what we need to replace Jack and Santi

8.) The Ox is 5ft 11, hardly short for a winger.

9.) This fella is quality who cars how short they all are barca are all short arses have you seen them play and to be fair good footballing sides football is played on the floor

10.) Ox is 5' 9" u actually having a laugh I u think chambo is almost 6ft!

11.) BOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I remember him fallin all over the place when he got the ball. We on't need that light weight poofter!

12.) Wow an argument about how tall the Ox is! Can I join in? Wiki and Fifa13 both say 1.8m or 5'11 in real money.
terry ;)

13.) Cabella has a recently had a 60mil price tag put on him.

14.) Ox is 5 foot 10 or 11

15.) Oxlade and wilshere have some strength to them aswell

Ed any chance of seeing James Rodriguez in England? {Ed029's Note - Another Ed keeps saying he will move to Monaco.}

Wilmslow Gooner

1.) To be honest Manchester United were interested so if he does turn up it could well be them.

Hi ED002!
With Guadiola becoming manager of Bayern and having a massive part in the Goetze deal it looks that Guadiola will bring tiki taka to Bayern.
It looks like a few players will be sold as he will not see them as part of his plans.
ED002 what players do you see avadable to Arsenal and more importantly who do you see Arsenal chasing?
Cheers ED002 nice to have you back mate. {Ed002's Note - Ribery, Pizarro, Gomez, Robben, Boateng, Van Buyten, Badstuber, Contento, Luiz Gustavo and Tymoshchuk could all be leaving - it doesn't mean Arsenal have an interest in any though.}

Wilmslow Gooner

1.) Cheers for the reply,
Is it not possible Ribery could be used as the Messi role in the team? What about Kroos and Müller? {Ed002's Note - I think my answer is clear.}

2.) If Badstuber becomes available, I'd gladly take him. What price do you think they'd command for him?

Ross

3.) Gustavo would be interesting.

I heard Koscielny is no1 on their list for defence btw

Marti

4.) I can see Bayern next season being fascinating to see whether a manager who likes to play the creative nice football can take a team that play very stern direct attacking football and make them play the way he wants but also to see how the Bayern players react considering the success the previous manager has had this season.
Should be interesting

5.) Wow I must admit I surprised that Bayern would be willing to let, Boateng, Luiz Gustavo and Badstuber. They already have Gotze, are favourites for Lewandowski, why don't they just get Reus and Hummels while they are at it.

6.) Why is badstuber even for sale he's quality

7.) You don't know he is for sale to be fair. On the outside you can guess who is up for sale just based on the players who are not currently first choice. Ribery/robben are aging and guardiola dislikes players like robben (attitude related) - but munich without robben/ribery would be half the attacking threat.

Bayern are fantastic because their wingers are fantastic. Lose that and it will fall apart.

8.) Ribery is over rated we don't want him!
Robben would be the one pushing Podolski up top

9.) How nice wouldn´t Gomez be :)

Dragovic could be a fantastic signing he's 22 years old and has performed in Europe (Europa League), Has 14 apps for Austria. He could be a great addition he's big and physical but also reads the game well and with Mertesacker not being able to play every week in the 2014/15 season he could be an ideal replacement and IMO could be EASILY better than him. I've been saying for a while that we should sign him he really is a world class talent.

Wilmslow Gooner

1.) He has hampions league expirience as well and why should merte not play each game two seasons from now??

2.) Mertesacker not being able to play every week? why he has been our best defender by a mile for the past for the past two season - 66 appearances! took RVP about 5yrs to have that many and Rosicky and let's not forget diaby

ED any interest in Benard from Athletico Mineiro? Looks a real twlent {Ed029's Note - From the Liverpool Archive - Atletico Mineiro's Bernard rejected opportunities to join Zenit and a Qatar side last summer but there is a lingering thought that he may still move on. Inter and Liverpool both had Bernard watched last summer with Inter going as far offering part ownership of others in exchange for part ownership of Bernard, but again that was refused. However, AC Milan, Spartak Moscow, Terek Grozny and Shakhtar Donetsk have recently approached Atletico Mineiro and whilst a 12M euro offer from Terek was rejected, it looks like a deal could be still be done and perhaps AC Milan will put together a package including a player as part of the deal. Whilst he is certainly attracting interest from several sides and a very good offer could tempt them to sell, I suspect Atletico Mineiro and Bernard would prefer to hold off on any move for, say, another year. Chelsea has been keeping a close eye on his progress as have Manchester City. He was one of the South American players that Liverpool were scouting earlier in 2012, but that was pre-Rodgers.}

Wilmslow Gooner

1.) He looks to lightwieght form the EPL. Perhaps for La Liga and Seria A. At 5'4" I can't see him making it here but he does look a good talent. i'm aware small players like Mata, Hazard, Cazorla, Wilshere are doing well but they are stronger, this lad is exceptionally small.

The signing of Welbeck is far worse than ANY signing in recent history, seriously the guy is a disaster, no goal scoring ability and just runs around aimlessly, the guy is as thick as can be and worst of all the transfer has paid for Falcao to go to United for a year.

I am extremely disappointed, Bacca would have been a far better signing trust me.

Wilmslow Gooner

{Ed025's Note - he deserves more respect WG, time will tell how good he will be, but slagging him off before he kicks a ball is out of order mate..

1.) 01 Sep 2014 23:51:22
Bacca has no premier league experience and welbeck does it's all ifs and butts mate. Give the bloke a chance ferguson picked him in front of Rooney remember so he must have something?

2.) 01 Sep 2014 23:52:51
Maybe not what we wanted WG but you can't say he isn't an upgrade on Sanogoals?

3.) 01 Sep 2014 23:54:48
I said to Mrs Dag's, "If we have a good window, I will take you out for a meal".

We haven't, so I didn't, but come on mate, let's give the boy a chance.

4.) 02 Sep 2014 00:25:45
Big Mac it is then Dag's

5.) 02 Sep 2014 09:17:33

ED what are the chances of seeing a holding midfield player, a striker and a center back before the transfer window closes?
Cheers for this amazing site :)

Wilmslow Gooner

{Ed002's Note - I still think there is a good chance of all three happening.}

1.) Ed002 I could kiss you for that comment, I won't because if you punch as hard with your fist as you do with some of your replys I might be unconscious for the rest of the season :-)
Would a man hug be too much?

2.) Wow! Thanks for that reply ed002! Has filled me with new found optimism! COYG

3.) 26 Aug 2014 13:52:47
That does fill me with hope! Out of interest I don't know if you would know this but are they looking for first team players? Like obviously the cb will be back up maybe a youngster. Hope that makes sense lol

{Ed002's Note - You need to think "squad" not "team". Arsenal had a deal all but done for Manolas and then backed out - Alderweireld is available and talks have already taken place with Monaco. Arsenal are interested but need to act fast as Southampton and possibly West Ham are looking to him as well. Carvalho is a player the club want. Podolski was to leave with a centre forward coming in. He will likely stay but Arsenal are still considering their options. Perhaps a move for Loic Remy? Maybe Bony? Right now getting through tomorrow will be the main focus.}

4.) 26 Aug 2014 18:11:01
Thank you very much for that reply ed. in depth and helpful appreciate it. That's a interesting way to look at it. Squad rather than team. Never looked at it that way. I personally think things may pick up transfer wise after tomorrow. Thanks again ed

If Giroud is out for 3 months I cannot see us winning ANY games without a few signings, he is our best striker and he gives 100% every game.

Last season we tried Podolski striker and like Sanchez is didn't work out.

Either sign somebody very similar to Giroud or sign a good back up for him.

Wilmslow Gooner

1.) I take it you love the boy yeah?

03 Aug 2014 16:51:37
I have been extremely defensive about Giroud, Arteta and Wilshere but with recent signings and if we get Khedira, I feel they both should be sold. Wilshere has not developed and he tends to give the ball away too much.
Giroud is OK but he just hasn't got the pace this team needs, we would be much better putting a more atheletic striker upfront.
Areta is well past his day and last season it really showed, time to sell ASAP in my opinion.

Bring in Khedira as Arteta replacement, bering in Pogba or Vidal as replacement for Wilshere and bring in Falcao (unlikely) or Cavani as a replacement for Giroud. Obviously some of these players are very unlikely but you get the idea what kind of players we need.

Wilmslow Gooner

1.) 03 Aug 2014 18:39:20
Nobody should bee sold this year but we do need first team replacements for Arteta + Giroud to make a winning side

2.) These games are a fitness finder only and apart from the fact that Sanogo can score goals we won't learn anything new from them about the players we already had.
Jack for me has never really been cost affective for the team as he has always given the opposition more chances when he loses the ball than he creates for us by using it well but this is his defining season so let's see where it ends and not judge him before it even starts

If you don't believe this is Ozils fault you are deluded. We were absolutely annihilating Bayern for the first 20 mins and if we, if rubbishZil scored the penalty we would no doubt have won the game. However rubbishZil decided he would try and piss around with the best goal keeper on the planet. Wow rubbishZil where did that end up at Marseille? Against a far worse keeper and it didn't work so when rubbishZil steped up I new exactly what was next, a miss.
That miss is what has decided our champions league campaign.
I would have layed off rubbishZil for the east of the season if he scored the pen however so far he has payed back 1p of the £42 Million, I think it's important that we have a look at the money spent on this player as honestly can you say that you would have proffered Ozil over let's say Juan Mata? I think that is extremely important to think about. The effort Ozil puts on is atrocious, I mean I really havnt seen him put a tackle in yet.
I like seeing the players shouting at him, he thinks he is untouchable but he really needs to wake up and see that he needs to step up his game dramatically. I think Ballack was correct in saying he looks lost for Arsenal, he has very little impact compared to his Madrid days when they would literally do no defensive work and just out score all day, also Sami Khedira runs more than any player I can think off and I think Ozil is too used to being able to do very little defensively.

Wilmslow Gooner

1.) It was strange allowing Ozil to take the penalty when Cazorla is next in line usually after Arteta. Maybe it was just to give him a much needed boost to have the penalty and score he just tried to be clever with it and it backfired.

It always better just to give it a thump low and hard because even if the keeper goes the right way then chances are it will still get passed him anyway.

Anyway I don't like to crucify individual players especially in their first season, he needs a much needed rest no doubt. He has played more minutes this season for us already than he would for a full season for Madrid last year so it something he is trying to adjust to. Remember Mert. had a bad first season and now after getting to grips with the pace of the EPL and settling in with Kos he has been a tower of strength this season.

Ozil is never going to be player that gets stuck in with tackles and that so I think he should have come off for Fabianski, down to 10 men you need your battelers out on the pitch and maybe we don't have enough flamini types in the squad.

I would have for the last 20Mins brought a fresh Gnarby on for extra pace on the counter as you knew Bayern were going to play high up and really push to try a get that key 2nd killer goal

I don't understand why Podolski is not used more down the left and Cazorla play more central. I have noticed most teams are really focusing their attacks more down our left side than right because our LB gets more exposed than our RB because Carzorla does not offer the same amount of protection. Also Sagna is pretty solid defensivly and more experienced than Gibbs and Monreal.

To sum up Ozil is still class but is just struggling with the intensity and pace of EPL now after playing just about all games and like Giroud needs a rest.

2.) Wilmslow,

You will probably get slaughtered for that post.

Not by me because I think you have raised some fair points.

3.) Very good points raised RyanP
