So radio "Kiss Kiss" ( Official radio station Of Napoli) are saying Gonzalo Higuain is going to join Arsenal Fc, if its true it will be massive.

Read that myself. I really really don't see that happening.

It's a strange one, the quotes come from a translation which I'd never trust anyway, but the radio station haven't disputed it so, who knows what they really said.

They apparently said we'll offer €50 and Giroud, which id personally be ok with, but Arsene loves Giroud.

However, the thing that makes this a 'believe it when I see it' beyond all doubt, is that they APPARENTLY, said we were trying to raise the funds through sales, including 'the sale of Koscielny for €50m'

Now A, I can't see us ever selling Kos, he's the best CB in the league in my opinion, unless it was a mad offer.
€50m is exactly the kind of mad offer I mean, but that leads me to point B.
Who'd pay €50m for Kos?
Great as he is, he's 30 years old and maybe has 2-3 years of being a top level player.
Much of Kos's game relies around him being very mobile for a CB and that's the one thing all players lose with age.

Also, I know it's a little ungrateful, but including Giroud in the deal would definetly give us the better forward, but it'd still leave us short up top!

Either way, Higauin would be a top top signing and if we do sign him, I'll buy a hat just to eat it.
But I've been burned by Arsenal rumours before and Higauin was the worst, fool me once, shame on me.

Can't see AW getting rid of Giroud and that still leaves us short up front.

Banners we are short up front with giroud, we wouldn't be with higuain. Lol.

{Ed001's Note - but Giroud is taller than Higuain, so you would be shorter up front without him.... ;-)

Peter Crouch is surely the answer.

Steve

There is no logic to your comment, we need someone as well as Giroud . You sell him for another striker and we still need another CF.

Banners no logic in what i'm saying? You are saying we aren't getting anyone. So by your logic we only have giroud. My logic is if we do get someone, id prefer higuain swapped with giroud than no one. Not saying we don't need another striker. i'm saying higuain instead of. This is wenger, will he buy an higuain and keep giroud?

The only way Wenger will buy a forward will be to sell players to fund the incoming transfer .

New CF. Giroud, Sanchez, Walcott, DW in his return, far too many people.

Ed, I have re-evaluated my expectations. Do we have any interest in either of:
Murillo and Lacazette
Sorry for multiple or duplicate requests
Have a great weekend and thank you.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - yes, but I don't believe either will be joining. Price being the main issue.}

16 Jul 2016 13:41:20
Sorry to add to the workload ed, but when you say price, do you mean it as we don't have the money to spend on them or won't spent the money?

I assume it's spend, but was interested to hear you're viewpoint!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I would say it is probably a bit of both, but it is mainly that the club has a value it sets and won't just spend way over that to get a deal through.}

16 Jul 2016 14:02:36
See, part of me wants to applaud the club for not being taken hostage with prices and the other part wants someone to physically shake Arsene till the change rattles out of his pocket.

Thanks for the reply ed!

As a club I don't think we have an option and I keep saying we must tweek our business model

Sink or swim - I don't want to do a Leeds but we have to invest or we fall further behind which requires more investment and harder conversations to convince players to stay or sign on. This then means higher wages.

Good players want to compete, great players want medals - both want cash!

Our biggest problem funds wise imo is our wage stricture. If we paid market rates for fringe and youth players we my be able to pay market rates on transfers.

Hi Ed's,
Thanks again for all the work you do here, we love you.
Are Arsenal interested in signing Carlos Bacca? I read that his move to West Ham might be off.

Thanks again.

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of. Not sure a move to West Ham was ever 'on' as he never wanted to go there.}
