any eds is there any news on arsenal still looking at jackson martinez

gunneruss

{Ed025's Note - no mate..

1.) Ed can you update me with Morgan Schneilderlin please and also balotelli? And can you inform me if we are still considering Balo?

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal and Napoli will look to Southampton's Schneiderlin this summer. It has been suggested that Spurs may also look to him. I expect Arsenal will be pressing Southampton soon.

and PSG might be interested. If Liverpool are considering him, and I don't know that they are, it would be as a replacement for Suarez. Mino Raiola is now in Brazil and has already spoken to another club representative about Mario Balotelli and has been speaking to Mr Wenger - who now understands the full financial implications of buying the player.}

Gutted for Santi and spain getting knocked out.But I blame chelsea for that as when they signed torres he turned rubbish overnight now look at costa he was awful.

gunneruss

1.) 1. Torres was awful in his last 6 months at Liverpool before he joined chelsea

2. Costa is not even a chelsea player yet.

2.) I've NEVER been impressed by Costa. Admittedly, I haven't seen him play that much.

{Ed007's Note - He's must be the oldest/roughest looking 25 y.o in the history of mankind!}

3.) I think I'll judge him on the bucket loads of goals he scored last season instead of 2 games in a team that don't suit his style

4.) ED007, I know he's a bit older, but have you seen Willo Flood.

{Ed007's Note - Unfortunately yes, he looks like the lovechild of Jasper Carrot and Simon Pegg!}

5.) ED007, I know he's a bit older, but have you seen Willo Flood.

{Ed007's Note - Unfortunately yes, he looks like the lovechild of Jasper Carrot and Simon Pegg which is never a good start!}

6.) Ofcourse, I forgot he was a superstar at Celtic, ed!

{Ed007's Note - I can't remember who it was we were playing in Europe and an opposition player was screaming at him to give him the ball when it went out for a throw in, words were exchanged and then the opposition player looked around and going by his hand gestures he had thought Flood was a ball-boy!
Him and Barry Robson were both ugly enough to have played for Rangers.}

Just seen on tv RM now want 37m fo higuan

gunneruss

1.) He isn't worth that much he's 2yard short of being world class for me.

2.) Let them keep him. I would rather we purchased Suarez for £40m.

3.) Haha I think someone has clocked on to the fact the Napoli suddenly have a larger transfer budget! They are such snakes, no wonder we don't like dealing with them

4.) They have probably over inflated the price because Napoli are now in talks with Higuain's people. Real Madrid wanted Cavani but Napoli wouldn't budge with there ridiculous £50 million valuation of the player so Madrid are giving Napoli a taste of there own medicine by over inflating the price for Higuain. It will be £25 million for Higuain but if Napoli want him they will have to pay £37 million.

5.) Chances are we could get Suarez for around that figure anyway. On balance who would people on here prefer? For me I think Suarez would add to our play in more areas and would therefore be a better fit.

CECEGUaW

6.) The Real Madrid president must go to the same school of transfer negotiating as Daniel Levy!

7.) Do you really think Liverpool will deal with us for £40m after what happened with us selling RVP to United last season?

Not a chance, despite all the rumours!

8.) The latest story on Cesar is that Arsenal wanted him on loan - are we for real? I am beginning to question whether we really do have £70M to spend because if we can't afford £3M for a new keeper there is no chance of paying anyway near the asking price for top strikers! This situation is very worrying.

9.) Oh now its 37? **** that.

Higuain is good, but there are better options I think out there for that kind of money.

Id say bring back Cesc. He can easily be interchangeable in the midfield striker position.

I don't know man. 37 is expensive. 25, sure, not 37.

DAILY STAR reporting we are going to test Manchester United resolve over rooney. do we really want him.

gunneruss

1.) Even if we do want him it'll never happen. Would cost far too much and that's not even starting on the wages.

2.) Yes please. He's prolific when played up front and is versatile enough to work fantastic in our front 3 that moves around a lot. He's also amazing at coming deep and passing the ball. We could do with this kind of drive and determination in the attack. Perfect for wilshere too!

3.) Unless he is willing to take a massive pay cut, and I mean massive, This will not happen. Rooney seems to be in the driver's seat regarding how much his salary should be. It showed the last time he tried to transfer out and he got a pay rise for it.

StarsplashTaiwan
TaiwanGunner

4.) Who will pay his 250k/week wage then? Arsenal simply cannot afford him

5.) £20m+ on a trouble causing, overweight and overpaid granny sh*gger. no thanks!

6.) Don't judge us buying him on your personal issues with him. Do you know many players cheat on their partners in football, in life. The facts are he played up front and scored 30+ goals what striker in our squad now is going to score that for us. The fact is he has great technical ability can score outside the box and on his day is near unstoppable.

He needs a new team, a new project to commit to and give his all and he has passion, Wilshere like passion for Football.

7.) Don't get me wrong I would love him here! Maybe with his passion he may take a pay cut. But as I said can't see it

8.) 13 May 2013 09:14:28
@ D16

My comment was more in response to the person who commented above me.

Josh09

9.) He'll be a Chelsea player within 4 weeks

10.) Yes we do. Rooney is a beast! I would rather have him playing for us rather than against us

11.) Who's going to pay his massive salary.

12.) God no, it is a bad joke. We're supposed to be upgrading the striking department this summer.

Just read Arsenal will have to get rid of several players to pay sanchez and ozil's wages as not to break premier league rules. The 1st name on the list is the Ox which i would be gutted about losing as the improvement over the last 6 months was great to see, he was playing really well and in different position's, me personally i would like to see the coq go as we have more than enough centre midfielder's and also theo as he just hasn, t reached his potental. But my gut feeling his Ox will be sold and then sanchez will leave as well so loosing 2 good players.

gunneruss

{Ed025's Note - arsenal have plenty of money to pay wages russ, and would it be the worst thing in the world to lose the ox? hes overrated for me and injury prone and the best thing for him and arsenal would be to part ways but of course thats just my opinion mate..

1.) 24 Jun 2017 09:23:25
Wages per week, Gibbs £60,000, Mertesacker £70,000, Wilshere £100,000, Walcott £110,000, Jenkinson £45,000, Debuchy £70,000, Giroud £100,000, Coquelin £45,000, Perez £70,000 Campbell £30,000 and the Ox £65,000.

Walcott, the Ox and Giroud are not what you'd calling genuine regular first choice players and the rest minimal appearances.

That's in excess of £800,000 per week.

There is scope for movement and increase in wages where needed.

The trick is finding buyers for some of the above.

2.) 24 Jun 2017 08:58:37
I agree Ed025 it would be best for both parties if the Ox moved on, I think the same for Ramsey too.

{Ed025's Note - i agree G62, they have gone a bit stale for me and i would include theo as well who always flatters to deceive...new broom and all that mate..

3.) 24 Jun 2017 10:45:59
If I understand correctly we can't increase our wage bill by more than £7m, if we do it must be from increased through revenue derived from activities that exclude TV revenue. Hence, I understand, although I don't agree that player such as Ox have to be sacrificed. In Ox's case his could raise £25m, plus he may want a new deal at high wages, putting a strain on the wage increase limit. Whereas if we sell Coquelin, we may get say £10m and save far less in wages. The idiocy of this wage increase cap, is that teams wll pay the top players high wages and the squad players far less than they currently get. So Sanchez may get £300,000 a week, but to balance this squad players will earn considerably less and good experienced pros will get derisory wages or will be sacrificed for young inexperienced lower paid youngsters.

4.) 24 Jun 2017 11:15:13
How do united city Chelsea get over these rules RG? Their wage bills far exceed ours? If they can get round this issue I'm sure we and others can do so equally if we really wanted to.
So it's not really a problem unless we chose to make it one in which case it becomes an excuse rather than a problem.

5.) 24 Jun 2017 11:32:21
Hi G62, I presume they sell or loan players out. Hence why Man City have just realeased Sagna, Clichy, etc.

6.) 24 Jun 2017 11:40:47
I agree with 62 its scaremongering again.

7.) 24 Jun 2017 15:40:54
Rather sell walcott than oxlade.

8.) 24 Jun 2017 16:23:21
I don't see Gibbs being sold. We only have Kolasinac and Gibbs in the LB/ LWB position. Wenger sees Monreal playing as a LCB in a 3 man defence, he said that a couple of weeks ago.
Gibbs isn't a bad option to have as back up.

9.) 24 Jun 2017 18:13:05
The ox didn't do to badly as LWB against Chelsea and on the right there's Bellerin who can be by Chambers (if he stays) , Mustafi, Gabriel, and Holding (and the ox) so I don't see the problem. Might be wrong but think Holding even played on the left in bolton so even he could fill in on that flank not to mention if Kolasinac or Monreal got injured there's a ton of cb's inthe squad that could fill the LCB position.

10.) 24 Jun 2017 21:30:06
I think if we are offered the right money, gibbs giroud and the ox will be sold. We will bin debauchery and jenkinson. Perez and cambell will depart as well.

11.) 24 Jun 2017 21:26:37
G62, regarding club wage bills:
Arsenal = £ 200.5 million
Chelsea = £218 million
Man United = £220.8 million
Man City = £225 million

I would not say this "far exceeds ours".

12.) 24 Jun 2017 11:43:19
Agree again Ed025 mate, it's like any working environment once less than top standard has been accepted for a period of time even if the reason was understandable and acceptable at the time getting all the same old faces to collectively accept higher expectations of themselves and each other again is extremely difficult and only human nature to get used to lower performance as the norm, in our case a top 4 us success attitude.
If you decide to keep the same boss the only other option is to freshen up your staff and bring in people who have a less comfortable attitude and are extremely hungry for top class success.

13 Jul 2016 08:15:33
I got really excited about this transfer window after signing granit xhaka so early, but it looks like the same old transfer window we arsenal fans have suffered over the last few years 1 big name player then a load of youngters that will never get the chance at the first team. We all know what areas need to be addressed but for the life of me i cannot see it happening what with all the tv money and the money in the bank Wenger will still be tight fisted and not spend where we need it. so for the love of god Arsene please please spend the cash.

1.) 13 Jul 2016 09:43:01
Plenty of time left, but Wenger does remind me of Rocky Balboa chasing the chicken in the yard.

Plenty of endeavour but no end product.

Harsh?

2.) 13 Jul 2016 12:03:45
Come on lads can we at least wait until the end of the window before we start slating wenger and the club, seems to be all everyone does is whine and moan.

What with giroud out for 3 months who arsene go for?remi welbeck or bony? I would go for bony

gunneruss

1.) Bony isn't that good remy all day

08 Jul 2014 07:50:33
Being reported carl jenkinson may be part of the deal debuchy.Personnelly I don't think this would be a great idea

gunneruss

1.) Me neither, Jenks is Arsenal to the core and while on its own and that's not enough (or we'd have all be signed up long ago) he is a very good player who has never been given a decent run.
He'd be my RB this season as I think he deserves his chance but selling him is unthinkable.
I think he'd refuse to leave and so he should

2.) 08 Jul 2014 10:39:35
Can't see it, if we let him go then we would need another right back.

3.) Dont see this happening. Wenger doesn't want to lose 3 players from last year's defensive 'squad'.

Seems like paper-talk. Joel Campbell would make more sense.

the 1st half performance was the best over the last few weeks and the ox was outstanding. we even had players showing a bit of bite like walcott. the 2nd half i want to forget. we are resigned to losing alexis this summer but i think we should get rid of a few as well ramsey not the same player as he was, never really rated coquelin, need a replacement left back for nacho and a centre forward get the ox a new contract and bring in the youngsters like reiss nelson and see what they can do. this is just my opinion.

Gunnerbreal totally agree with you in 3 to 4 years learning from cech ,shezza could become the keeper that wenger has shown a lot of faith in and he will be at the right age when a keeper hits his peak.

Get navas the keeper for costa

gunneruss

{Ed002's Note - Levante goalkeeper Keylor Navas is an option for Napoli and Atletico Madrid. Additionally, Marseille, Wigan and Everton have shown interest in the player in recent months, but the strong interest from Milan has now gone. I am aware that Liverpool had the player watched earlier in the year, but a move to simply sit on the bench at Liverpool is not at all likely - he would want commitments about playing time. Levante would like to keep him but it might be difficult.}
