Afternoon Ed, please can you tell us the latest on Eze? Which clubs are looking at him? Cheers.

kimonos1

{Ed002's Note - Eberechi Eze (AM/LW) Crystal Palace have no intention of selling the player who struggled until he was at QPR and is now excelling at Palace. Previous enquiries from Spurs and Newcastle were turned away but I expect Spurs will return with an offer that will match his release clause. Chelsea do remain keen but would need to provide assurances of a starting role as an AM player and that will prove to be an issue and that will discount them. Arsenal have sent scouts on a few occasions but have preferred targets and dwindling space in the squad. A wildcard may be one of the Manchester clubs.}

Evening Ed, are we considering Riccardo Calafiori?

kimonos1

{Ed002's Note - Riccardo Calafiori (CB/LB) Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea have a declared interest but he is not first choice for either although Chelsea may well look to two additions and push for the player. Newcastle interest has gone. Spurs, Bayern Munich and Brighton have sent scouts but Juventus has held a number of discussions with Bologna and are offering cash and a part exchange. They will also have an edge because of Motta although Bologna have now secured CL football they insist they do not need to sell their prime assets. A wildcard may be Real Madrid. Liverpool have shown no interest that I am aware of and have very specific targets of their own.}

There’s always an Italian player linked every year for inflated prices then goes to Juventus for 25m haha.

{Ed014's Note - that and Chelsea buying anything that moves! ?

2.) 03 Jul 2024 15:49:14
Looks like he’s on his way to the Arsenal.

3.) 03 Jul 2024 15:36:10
I wonder will the chavs buy my mrs, I only asked her to cut the grass and clean the windows and she blew a gasket.

{Ed014's Note - quite likely mate no doubt for in excess of £50 million too!

4.) 04 Jul 2024 08:53:01
Their team is much younger now though. They don't need medical staff with experience caring for geriatrics.

5.) 05 Jul 2024 22:28:51
Based solely off youtube videos he looks strong but slow.
More dog than cat. Carries well.

Will plug the left back hole and provide competition/ rotation for Gabriel.

Likely makes Kiwior surplus to requirement.

6.) 06 Jul 2024 18:49:37
I thought Kiwior showed well whenever he played. Would be a shame to lose him.

7.) 09 Jul 2024 03:19:30
Agreed Sharpey but I think the team is at the stage now where anyone not immediately trying to usurp Gabriel (or Timber) is probably going to be moved on. Kiwior is a good deputy but it seems like Arteta doesn't see him as a viable alternative yet. I imagine it's a bit like Pep playing 4 CBs in constant rotation, with Stones, Diaz, Ake Akanji all a good bet to play any given game.

Morning, Ed. Are Arsenal looking at Johan Bakayoko?

kimonos1

{Ed002's Note - Johan Bakayoko (RW) Cost effective solution for PSG but may stuggle to be a starter so will not be interested in a move just to be cover. Liverpool have him on the list of potential Salah replacements but have not made any approach to PSV at this time - but he is certainly an option although if Salah decides to see his contract out it will disrupt any move. Arsenal see him as an option to Raphinha and Pedro Neto but it seems a move is unlikely. Spurs, Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City have sent scouts but have preferred options. Borussia Dortmund see him as an option to Sancho but have also identified a preferred option. I expect Liverpool will win out.}

Morning Ed, what’s the latest on Nico Williams? Read Mikel is interested. Cheers.

kimonos1

{Ed002's Note - Nico Williams (LW/RW) Young Basque winger and brother to Inaki who has eased himself in to the first team over the last two seasons. Terse response from the Spanish U21 set up (along the lines of "he does not score many goals for an attacker") when told he was changing his allegiance to Ghana, like his brother - and that led to him changing back to Spain. There was plenty of interest in him so a contract extension and buy out clause were awarded to the player at the start of 2022 and again in December 2023, pricing him out of a move to Barcelona at €50M plus a significant signing on fee, plus wages of €350k per week - but they remain interested although they need to sell before buying so must prioritise. The player has made it clear he wants to move to Barcelona but the club say he is happy and wants to stay. Seen as far more affordable than Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Aston Villa coach wishes to be reunited and they will push for a deal in the summer but he may opt to stay for a year or two more after signing a new contract. Looked at by numerous Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal as well as Barcelona and Real Madrid. Chelsea are put off by the attitude, wages being asked for and he is not first choice. Arsenal may bite and make an offer and Newcastle offer a wildcard option.}

David Ornstein confirming Sesko is Arsenal’s first choice striker now. Biggest threat is him staying at Leipzig for one more season.

1.) 11 Jun 2024 09:29:03
He has in fact, decided to renew at Leipzig.

Hi Ed002,

Are arsenal looking at Dominic Solanke? If so how much AFCB asking?

Cheers mate.

1.) 20 Dec 2023 16:41:30
My guess is that this is paper talk. An effective player, but I would be surprised if he were being seriously considered by Arsenal. HB.

2.) 20 Dec 2023 22:13:20
26 years old, probably expensive given how important he is to AFCB, and having his first good spell in the PL EVER after several seasons doing very little. If you're the type to complain about Gabi Jesus not scoring, Solanke would be a massive downgrade.

3.) 24 Dec 2023 08:30:50
Hope not - he is not good enough for us.

Then we move onto the next option but there is no way he chooses Chelsea or UTD over Arsenal. Chelsea are a shambles of a club.

Arsenal have moved on from Toney. Sesko is priority it seems.

kimonos1

{Ed002's Note - What if Sesko signs for one of the other interested sides?}
