I watched the game and it was a great little cameo and to be fair up until our equaliser Norwich would have deen deserved winners, the had chances to go 2,3 or 4 up playing on the counter.

There were some pretty poor performances all round to be honest, Giroud, Walcott, Elneny were bad, Jack didn’t do much, Coquelin for a DM was turning up all over the pitch.

Was a little disappointed in Holding again but thought Debuchy had a pretty good game.

Watching all these young guns, they all seem to be speed merchants, Nketiah probably the quickest, he played one long pass beyond the Norwich defence, left them for dead and smashed a shot in from an angle for what would have been his hatrick but the keeper made a good save.

Let’s hope a few push on, the next round should be a bigger test for them.

Our answer to Marcus Rashford I ask you?

It’s a time thing 62, don’t rush him and don’t put expectations onto him, would be lovely if he made it but let’s wait and see. 😁.

gunner62 - give over, the lad has one game and your comparing him to the mighty rashford? no doubt the kid looks special but perhaps a little too soon to predict how good he can be. let's face it he could turn out to be the next sanogo.

Whiskey when Rushford bust on the scene out of no where none of us thought it would continue and he was highly likely just a kid who had a good day, obviously it's exactly the same for this lad too.
I get and totally agree with what both yourself and Stoner are saying my post was in hopeful possiblity rather than making a rash prediction based on a cameo role in the Cowabunga cup.

62 I didn’t think you were over egging him for a minute mate as like me you’re not a fan of that.

United fans on the other hand have announced the new messiah on countless occasions only to be disappointed. They really can’t help themselves. 😉.

fair play gunner62, if he pushes on how rashford has he can reach great levels, hopefully for country too. If he has a level head on him like young Marcus then there's no reason why he can't become a great little player.

Not saying he is or isn't it but arsenal fans need an home grown superstar striker.

Rumblings from the club and people around him is that he is strongly fancied to make it.

G62, for every Rashford there’s a hundred Ravel Morrison’s.

Chelsea actually released him when he was 14. It would be great to think one of Nketiah, Nelson, Maitland-Niles or the likes of Da Silva or Willock could actually make it.

The last real youngsters from the UK I remember really making it when as young as these guys were the likes of Rooney and Owen. Both burst onto the scene and never looked back.

Any others I’ve missed and I’m talking 17 and 18yr olds?

Stoner, agreed. Could a good manager help these lads in the future, including rene Adelaide and a few others to fulfill their potential. They need proper guidance and fixed positions to learn. That for me is also why we missed a trick this summer. Still they should still all be here in 18 months, not slowly being drip fed away and out of football.

Eddie Nketiah you Legend.

He also scored a Hat-Trick for the U-23's last night. Yes, last night.

Look out Granit

"He can also play central midfield, but I must say that he's close now to being a regular in the first team as well. I would be on my toes if I was a regular player in the Arsenal first team. His preferred position is central midfield and that's where I believe he will end up. "

Wenger is telling you to wake up.

Shows how far we have fallen - if Arsenal beat you away from home, you get sacked!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

24 Oct 2017 10:17:49
I think it was the way they were beaten that was the problem mate.
They weren't good with 11 men on the pitch but when Gueye left the field it looked like half the other players went with him.
I like Koeman and think he will bounce back somewhere but if ever a club had to do something it was Everton, clubs sack managers far to easily these days but I think Everton had little choice because something somewhere had gone very wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you wouldn't like him if you knew him mate, incredibly arrogant man which is what actually cost him his job. You know he refused point blank to get involved in any of Everton's community work?}

24 Oct 2017 10:30:39
I thought that was the weakest Everton performance against us I have seen and Koeman had clearly lost the team, so the sacking came as no surprise. Silva or Dyche would be a good fit, whilst Moyes would be a mistake in my opinion. Fat Sam could do a decent job for them, even though their fans might not want him.

Fair play Ed001 mate, just goes to show how easy it is to form an opinion about someone based only on TV interviews.
I've always thought managers players to should be interviewed as in the real world where someone is not only given a job on thier ability to do a job but on their personality and attitude too because it's no good having an individual who disrupts more they improve the current work force.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - managers usually do have to go through an interview process. Which is why I found the Everton recruitment of Koeman such a huge surprise, as I did say to Ed025 at the time. He is just not a fit for a club like them. A very limited manager with an insane arrogance. Everton are a friendly, community club and need a manager to fit that profile. Like you said in another thread about horses for courses, some managers just fit some clubs.}

24 Oct 2017 11:27:18
Totally agree Ed001 mate, I sometimes think clubs ignore the things that don't suite about a manager Because of his previous record or what the fans and media might want at the time, sometimes you've just got to be honest with yourself and admit what is there rather than what we want to be there.
Before I interviewed anyone I would have a list of what is important to the club and be honest about things that were not up for debate from the clubs view and if the preferred candidate isn't on board then it's a bad match between you and them and should go no further.
I think it should be similar with players too, you bid 50 million for someone you don't even know on a personal level, you can ask other about them but why not take the time to say " what can you give us? " Every bit as much as try and sweet talk them about what you can do for them, if they ain't prepared to sell themselves to you then chances are they ain't coming for the right reason. Just my opinion :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I fully agree mate.}

After watching the Everton game it just makes vicarage road all the more fustrating! To say the amount of pressure Wenger is under I’m surprised Klopp doesn’t face the same . less wins then Rodgers and a real failure to address the problems in the summer window. Do you think now fans are subject to reading into to much glamour and media, look at dyche being talked down by Everton fans because he’s not glamorous! These days we don’t paint our own picture we are guilty of being a product of stats and the media. Thoughts?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Absolutely, DoLally, Watford was really depressing as a win would have kept us right up there.
I am as guilty as anyone in respect of criticising Wenger, but in the cold light of day, he has still won 3 FA Cups and 3 Community Shields over the last 4 seasons and qualified for the CL in all bar one season and even then we are in the EL, which is interesting as we play different teams and can watch squad and young players.
Klopp has a relatively poor record at Liverpool and they are behind us in 9th place.
Pochettino has won absolutely nothing at the toot.
Conte is on exactly the same points as us.

It only leaves two of the games top managers Guardiola and Mourinho in a better position than Wenger. Marco Silva is doing well at Watford.
Two big shouts to replace Wenger last season were Koeman sacked by relegation threatened Everton and Howe also in relegation trouble at second from bottom with Bournemouth.

So perhaps Wenger isn't as poor a manager as we think, after all we have won all three EL matches and sit top of our group. We are still in the LC giving youngsters and squad players valuable playing time. Despite our poor start to the season, we sit 5th in the PL on the same points as last seasons Champions Chelsea. With Man U playing the toot, whilst we have a very winnable match at home to Swansea, we should close the gap on either Man U or the Toot, possibly both if we win and they draw. We have won all 4 home league matches and have turned the corner away from home with the win at Everton.
Let's get behind Wenger and the team at this week's home matches.

I personally don't have a lot of time for stats because they can give a very false impression of the reality of things.
When we look at Dyche we shouldn't just look at results because sometimes a manager can be a one club wonder like Adi Boothroyd at Watford and Phil Brown Hull Darren Ferguson at Peterborough, if you look at his credentials in different areas of the game like man management motivation tactics adaptability when your original game plan is working and the ability the realise they've got it wrong and act quickly to change a situation that turns defeats into draws or even wins.
There is no perfect manager and never has been but I think it's all about getting the man who suits you and your current set up best.
It's no good having an England manager who people don't enjoy working with Because they would simply not play for their country but at club level they are under contract so have little choice but to knuckle down or be shipped out.
Horses for courses and I think Dyche has what it takes to move up a level or two.

Funny quote from Ed025 on Toffee page.

Ronald Koeman and The Titanic have a lot in common.
Neither should have left Southampton 😂😂.

It's so funny that after 105 years it's cool to make jokes about the loss of 1500 life's . I'm actually a fan of humour and dead against the sensorship of humour because it's not to some people's taste. I bet if it was a joke about Lockerbie, dunblaine or hillsborough it wouldn't get posted. But it's funny how time make jokes execeptable. Just to clarify dags I thought the joke was funny and glad it was posted. Just an observation in to what gets seen as exceptable.
