Not overly bothered about Tuesdays game. I don't think it's our year in the fa cup. Man utd, Chelsea and westham all fancy it.

I would rest as many as possible. Hull want promotion so they should rest players to.

Disagree Derby,
I think we have a good chance.

Assuming (hoping) we beat Hull, we than have Watford at home.

You than have Reading v Palace
Everton v Chelsea
Man Utd v West Ham.

The only team who scares me are West Ham.

I think we have a very good chance of retaining Cup.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2016 00:17:35
One thing we don't need to do is loose against hull. I want to win everything i enter otherwise what's the point. I think we can put out a strong team by rotating and inthink that's what we will do.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2016 08:28:21
As you've already said, we're not going to win the league, we're going to get knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona so let's just let United or Chelsea or in fact anyone win the FA Cup as well because they want it.

Like you're thinking.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2016 07:10:16
I just can't see us winning it dags. It'll be extra games we don't need.
Do the players have enough desire to win the same cup again? Not sure.

{Ed025's Note - west brom are more of a threat than utd ever were darren.. :)

You only have Wet Spam to worry about for fourth now Darren.

06 Mar 2016 19:04:32
Northeast not very nice if your boys choke like they did yesterday you might be looking at the hammers as well. We gave you a lifeline and you still couldn't put us away. Two teams both chokers.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 19:43:51
Long way to go yet boys! 4 teams are still well in it! And I feel that three will be in it last game at least mathematically. Spurs currently have an ace with the goal difference! It's going to be exciting.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it is SLB, arsenal are still in this and its up to the players and how much they want it mate..

06 Mar 2016 19:46:36
Difference is we are enjoying the ride. You lot on suicide watch. 👀.

{Ed025's Note - i like that N/E..

The titles over boys.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 20:15:41
Ranieri says his teams desire to win is unbelievable, if only we could somehow get our players to share and show that same desire.
When using the word desire to desribe Arsenal its usually preceded by the words lack of, I'm not sure how but changing that is surely the first and most important step forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think other teams may have sussed you out G62, let you have the ball and huff and puff for a bit and counter attack, for me arsenal have become somewhat predictable and will always have the lions share of possession, the trouble is you now dont have a world class finisher like you had in henry, wrighty or RVP to kill teams off..but maybe thats just me mate..

06 Mar 2016 20:23:38
To be fair NE its all a novelty to yourselfs and Leicester mate but this is just another groundhog season for us.
Your lucky you won't have to go through this again for another 40 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 20:27:19
Gunner, look at all the change around with us from last season, too many players undermining the manager. Doesn't take long to transform your teams philosophy.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 20:37:33
No prize for second it's Called the fourth place trophy and that is ours.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 20:45:06
Ha ha gunner. And obviously yourselves. 👍🏻.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 20:51:26
Nah, you are bang on Ed.
I have always said it's easy to play Arsenal.
2 banks of 4, let us have the ball, we will pass and move all day long, but lack a clinical finisher and are always susceptible on the counter.

NES, behave yourself :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 21:51:15
Your bang on Ed a top class finisher would make all the difference, but back then we also had a mental and physical toughness we lack now.
The football under Arsene is a million times better but we could do with a little of George Grahams disapline right now (not to much though :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 19:07:30
Liverpool man utd europa league tie has a lot riding on it now. I see Liverpool progressing though.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2016 10:54:54
The thing is we don't even dominate possession any more. Struggle to string more than 5 forward passes together before handing the ball back to the opposition. and the speed at which we counter is on par with Per's pace. All doom and gloom from me at the minute.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2016 13:09:35
Ramsey's little flicks and him pissing about dosent help either.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 16:10:35
Looking to next season with a little nervousness.
Another season of under performance at home and abroad. Small budget to spend and a manager with one year left on his contract.
Not the best scenario to try to extend deals on our two world class stars and sign up another two! F you were world class - would you sign for us or would you sign with a team who is competing in all competitions, pay super high wages and certainty in management. Then add willingness to pay top fees!
We need a trophy big style and to put a decent close to the season.
Interesting position we find ourselves in and for all the wrong reasons.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Mar 2016 16:19:01
Have no reason other than a gut feeling but I reckon we'll make that signing we've all been longing for this summer. #believe.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 18:17:40
I don't think Ozil and Sanchez get into any of those upper echelon teams. Already done Real Madrid and barca. They will likely stay put but I would hope they would request some steal and reinforcements in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 18:51:32
Well arsene wengers red and white army.
one great signing is not what most of us think we need and with teams with ambitions of winning titles and new managers, i think the top signings will be winging their way anywhere but arsenal. A whole new change of phylosofy is required. We are not as close as just one signing anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 19:18:15
Ozil and Sanchez are key to Arsenals future whether they stay or go, if they stay they will surely want a serious guarantee of quality additions in the summer or if both leave to find more ambitious clubs their decisions will bring about big changes at Arsenal.
Its almost impossible to think both would be happy to carry on as we are.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 19:45:36
Ozil would be like a kid in a sweet shop at barca.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i dont think so mate..they have to run their arses off for 90 mins, not a trait i associate with mesut, even though he is quality..

06 Mar 2016 20:13:22
Barca play 433 he would be lost I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2016 03:14:34
small budget hasn't wenger been sat on a pot of gold for a while now like a french leprechaun one thing noticed seemed strange when the emirates was built arsenals budget was cut to pay for the stadium but stan kronke is more than happy to throw 1 billion from his own pocket or maybe you guys are contributing towards saint louis relocating to l. a.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - nothing comes out of Kroenke's pocket, he paid for the ranch with a loan taken out against his assets in Arsenal, primarily because of the huge sums that particular asset has in the bank.}

07 Mar 2016 12:08:05
Steve, I agree I think we need more than one big signing to solve all our problems, though a top top striker would make a massive change and possibly a catalyst for a new attitude on the pitch and off.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 16:04:38
I know he is not a winger as such but I much prefer Rambo on the wing giving us a bit of cover, runs into the box and a bit of steel. A bit like when Wenger played Parlour out wide.

Man Utd, although as entertaining as a funeral procession, are bubbling along nicely.

West Ham are an exciting and attacking force and both teams are on our tails.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 11:10:19
A point yesterday was probably fair based on the performance, but still not particularly convincing. As a team we're lacking that control of the game. we just seem to be riding the waves instead of taking the bull by the horns and really influencing the overall tone of the game.

Welbeck starting was a positive for me. Would like to see him hold that position for the rest of the season. His pace and movement makes him unpredictable in a very predictable team. Building on that, would like to see us whipping in a few more crosses with Welbeck hopefully getting on the end of a few. build his confidence, get his goal radar honed and build a team around the lad. Afraid to say Giroud is not the future. Failing that. splash some cash this summer ;)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - good post that mate..

06 Mar 2016 11:44:14
Danny's pace isn't far off Theo's and his hold up play isn't far behind Olly and his finishing to be fair is probably on a par with the othe two overall since joining us, but I agree we need to give him the rest of the season up top and see what he can do with a decent run in that position, both Theo and Olly have continually failed and proved themselves not to be up to the job consistently so why not.
Oh and while we're at it let's give Joel a decent run on the right too, not sure what more he needs to do to get a fair chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 13:05:45
Giroud is going through the worst spell since his arrival, DW is now the first choice without a doubt. Moving onto the Summer expect a bargain basement transfer window again.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 13:31:10
For thinking giroud was good enough to be our striker, for thinking mertadonkey was good enough to be our centerback, for thinking arteta was good enough to be our captain, for thinking coq was ok on his own, for thinking this team without any outfield additions was good enough the axe needs weilding. Poor judgement and everybody was screaming at him what was wrong and he went deaf. Arrogance old age or stubbornness, none of that is taking this club forwards.

Agree3 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 13:41:38
Our biggest problem lately is that Giroud has dried up.

I posted about 2 weeks ago, that I can't see Olly and Theo getting another 6 goals between them from than until end of season.

Alas, Dags is proving to be correct.

06 Mar 2016 15:06:32
Ollys premier league goal tally with us each season is 11 16 14 and 12 so far this time round making it a total of 53 in 118 appreances which wouldn't be bad stats in most sides but given the amount of genuinely excellent chances he gets per game with us its a very poor return.

Agree3 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 15:28:23
You just have to think how much an Aguero would get in our team in the end of Ozils creativity. Or Lukaku who would be who I would go for.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 16:01:16
Would love to see a worldy striker signed this summer, think it would really shift us up a gear. even with out remedying our other faults (defence)

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 12:28:42
Welbeck is a good player. You get a honest performance always. He just won't score the goals need.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 17:34:03
Welbeck offers pace and work rate Olly and Theo only one or the other, sell Theo for say £15 million towards the best we can get and Colins ya cousin.

06 Mar 2016 17:40:48
I feel this is Walcott's final season. Didn't start against Barca, the Ox was preferred. Started against Manchester United as Ox was injured and had one of his worst games. Came on against swansea as probably another chance to impress but ineffective and Didn't even play yesterday.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 18:11:58
Wesley I feel its quite a few peoples last season, strangely enough, I think not a lot will change.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2016 03:20:27
saurez might be available you guys should go all out for him play him with wellbeck a similar player to sturridge with his pace would probably have the best partnership in the epl next season wenger should go b***s out if saurez does come up for sale and for no other reason than to stop him ending up at city with aguerro would be game over for a few seasons unless sauurez was to get peckish in the middle of the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the only things Welbeck and Suarez have in common is pace and injuries. Welbeck's touch is embarrassing, he is utter dross who just runs around a lot. He can't shoot, pass, tackle, control the ball or dribble. One of the worst examples of a very quick and tall player who gets on in the game despite lacking ability.}

06 Mar 2016 09:18:30
Ed025,

You are held in high esteem on Arsenal page.
I'm sure I speak for everybody on here when I say you are our guiding light and a distinguished figure of authority. The shepherd to us sheep.

More like therapist with the meltdown of posters on here this week, and I include myself. Ed025, you're a voice of reason in a sea of insanity!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it has been a bit insane lately on here 14, its easier for me though being impartial as when its your club passions run high, it was a great chance this season for arsenal with the other big boys having a season off so to speak and thats not going to happen again anytime soon, still not out of the race but could and probably should have been your year mate..

06 Mar 2016 13:03:49
Ed,
Ultimately I think the Swansea defeat this week is going to bite us on the bum.

We are in the chasing pack, meaning you have to win your home games, especially against 'lesser' teams and supplement that with a few away wins.

This week, on top of the OT defeat has proved to be very damaging.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it has dags but if you show the spirit you did yesterday there is still a glimmer of hope, its been a very topsy turvy season so far and there is still a few curve balls to come im sure, you have to hang in there mate and show some character..

06 Mar 2016 13:33:37

06 Mar 2016 04:58:15
Decent performance yesterday, just a shame that Coquelin showed his naivety. Hopefully he will learn from this mistake.
Some stand out performances, but Mertesacker needs to be replaced in the summer, never mind his lack of pace when we press high, but weak defending in the lead up to Kane's goal. Our zonal marking at corners was shown up once again, for the equaliser and we had a couple of let offs at other corners, with Ospina making one terrific save.
I have great hopes for Elneny, who played exceptionally well. I believe he can forge a successful partnership with Coquelin and I far prefer two defensive midfield players in these positions, rather than playing more attacking players out of position, Wenger has a habit of playing quality players out of position in order to accomodate them in the team and this has to stop. Cazorla was injured having to tackle against Norwich in a DM role. Yesterday, Ramsey looked so much better when he moved later on to his more natural central attacking midfield role.
Poor refereeing when Dier should have gone and Lamela should have also received a 2nd booking when he shoved Sanchez, before Sanchez pushed him and received a booking, never mind the idiotic dive with double pike that followed, Now we need to push on in the Cup and league, I think it will be extremely difficult to catch Leicester, but we need to finish top four and above the Toot, I believe the Toot's work rate and pressing game is starting to catch up with them. At the end of the first half they looked jaded and despite playing against 10 men for most of the second half, they dropped off in the final 15 mins. They have two difficult matches against Dortmund, which will test their ability to perform at the required intensity. Historically Pochettino's teams have tailed off at the end of the season, with fatigue and injuries taking their toll.

06 Mar 2016 09:35:30
Good post RG. Hopefully Le Coq learns from it however his age doesn't mitigate the second booking as a good player learns at youth level to stay on their feet in that situation, not as a 24 yr old pro. His propensity to go to ground in a tackle is high risk and a problem that negates a lot of the good he does. Even more so yesterday on a wet surface.
Spot on with Mert and our central defense is fast becoming a problem area. Mert is well past his best and his positioning and technique are becoming very poor. Look at his position for Routledge's goal last week which is now not unusual. Zonal defending only works with players who can aerially dominate the area they patrol. Ours cannot do that. With Mert past it, Gabriel not showing immediate signs that he is a successor and Kos now 30 then investment is required at the back.
The squad needs freshening next year both with youth and quality. Some decisions also need to be made on whether players will ever reach the required level. RM/ RW for example. While we have persevered with Theo and the OX talent such as Willian and Douglas Costa have come and gone for reasonable fees. Either of them in our front 3 behind a quality finisher would take us to another level.
Elneny looks a good signing. Did little wrong in a frantic game where we rarely had our normal passing game going on.
We have suffered this year because of AW's lack of ruthlessness to turn the squad over and instead show undue loyalty. Arteta, Rosicky and Flamini, to some extent, have taken up key squad places we needed to ride the injuries of the first choice 15/ 16 players. Get rid of 2 of them last summer, sign Cabaye, develop Iwobi and we are a far better squad.

Agree1 Disagree2

06 Mar 2016 09:43:16
We have had a run of bad refereeing - foul on Ozil and off side goal against the Swans then the ghost red cards you mention above.
We must have a lot of roundabouts to come in the closing stages of the season.

Le Coq was niave no question but you can't question his passion and will to win in each and every game, admittedly he needs to learn from it and fast but I wouldn't mind a few more of our players to have his desire and passion every week.
