Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

Be interesting game sunday for us. We beat Leicester well at their place but I believe they are a different team than then and so are we. It could be any outcome in reality but a defeat at home will mean we have gone backwards. A win will make it a bit more interesting.

although statistically it is an improvement, who would be happy with 2nd and the fa cup? i wouldn't be.

the last couple of seasons i admit i have been happy with the back to back cups where we ain't won anything for ages prior to that but this year has been our best chance to win the league and yet again when it's time to step up we seem to bottle it.

i know there's still hope for the title but the only time arsenal seem to finish the season well in the league is when top 4 is all but secured and when the pressure's off then we seem to play like a team who can beat anyone.

No one should ever be happy with 2nd, it's the first loser. An FA Cup is not going to cut if for anyone on its own this season.

We have no excuses, we have shown on form what we are capable of against the best and Cazorla who was immense is now are only real miss as far as injuries go.

Wilshere and Welbeck will be nice to have back but neither are garanuteed starters. Our British contingent have to be honest been a let down this season with Ramsey the only one to show any kind of form.

Gabriel needs to remain as our first choice CB and with Coquelin returning we are team wise as good as it's going to get. Maybe Walcott instead of Giroud will see him back to some form and Welbeck, Chamberlain and Campbell taking up the right wing between them.

So no 2nd will be bad and Wenger in my opinion will be gone if that happens, he will have had every opportunity and absolutely no excuse.

Would take it with a massive spoonful of reluctance.
My biggest concern at present is our strikers have dried up.

We have 13 games to go.
We don't know who our best striker is, Theo or Olly.

We don't know who our best RW is, Theo, Ramsey or Campbell.

We don't know who our best CH pairing is, Kos/ Mert or Kos/ Gabs.

Cech, Bellerin, Monreal, Ozil and Sanchez are our only 'nailed on' players, the rest are a bit of a mix and match.

Leicester's team picks itself, from Casper Schmeichel through to Vardy, and that in itself brings confidence and form.

Bit worried.

I'd be surprised if he decided to go this summer Red he's never walked out of a contract which is something he's very proud of, I think he will see out his final year then call it a day.
Interesting to hear Arsene talking about how ticket prices won't be cut because transfer fees are going to increase dramatically next summer, doesn't bode well hearing him say that does it :-)

Cech

Bellerin- Per-Kos and Nacho

Coq and Santi

Theo- Ozil - Sanchez

Giroud

That's my favoured team and if we could put it out every game, we would win the league.

I'm sorry if arsenal finish anywhere other than first wenger should go for sure.

This season all the top clubs are seriously underperforming and utd too :)

Fact is if arsenal don't win the league when utd, Chelsea, city are off form and spurs or Leicester win it I wonder when u ever will again under him.

Unfortunately I think this is again another season of rinse and repeat for you, a season that promised so much and will deliver a fa cup at best. Again it will be down to your managers failings to add to a team when they needed it.

08 Feb 2016 22:41:50
I'd agree to a point Dags, though i think we all know on for Campbell is the right winger and Gabriel/ Kos is the ch pairing.

SY in a fantasy world Bergkamp and Henry wouldn't have aged and our players wouldn't get injured but its not a fantasy world and you need to adaapt to it and have good options to be successful.

Walcott up top or bench for me. He doesn't want to play right wing. His form before he was . moved back was great.

all the top clubs and United, made me chuckle.

{Ed033's Note - chris has a point. Arsenal shouldn't be beat by leicester or Spurs and if man city aren't playing well, Arsenal should win the title. i wouldn't place ALL the blame on Wenger as i suspect there are players who want to do the minimum they can get away with while still being paid. This may be acceptable if you're on minimum wage but not if you're at this level.

With the 'top' clubs in the Premier league, theoritically it might be good if the players only got paid if they win a game.

09 Feb 2016 02:01:03
Wash rinse repeat, we will never win the league with giroud striker and wenger manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Feb 2016 09:18:06
Couldn't agree more Ed033 the cosy club are sitting pretty under Arsene but I'm not so sure the next manager will be so understanding.

its difficult, at the end of the season if leicester or city or spurs win it, it will be wengers fault, for not buying a 100 mill pound striker, however the market shows there is no striker available. perhaps we did try for benzema, perhaps madrid did not get his replacement, many ifs and buts. hindsight is always a cause of judgement.

however if he manages to win the league the same fans will say we spent 10 mill on a gK and won the league, if we lose it will be we only spent 10 mill hence we lost.

no team has the divine right to win every game, and form and confidence is a major part of life not just the game.

if leicester do beat us or draw us on sunday then yes they will win the league, but if we claw back to 2 points its all to play for.

perhaps you look at the team on paper and think this team should win it by a mile, but you look at man city and chelsea and they have better first team players for most positions and even depth, yet you look at spurs and all of a sudden you say they have depth and first team quality. the game is not played on paper so while i agree that we have a good team, its still to play for.

{Ed025's Note - cracking post that lakes, the trouble is that 50,000 arsenal fans think they can do a better job than arsene mate..

09 Feb 2016 11:10:26
I completely agree with Chris if we don't win and to be fair we need a perfect run in for it to be a good PL win not just a desperate whimper. As it currently stands we are no better than seasons gone by can't argue with the facts! Still millions of miles away from champs leauge quality just scraping that as always and have a similar points total to last year at this time.

For me its not just winning the title. I want to be the best in europe or at least in there year in year out.

When players prices go up next year I don't want to hear him moaning.

After our game with Leicester they will have an easy and winnable run of games until thier last 3 games against united, everton and chelsea. Therefore a win is a must as everyone has been saying.
We need to have a winning run our selves too if we to stand a chance of winning the title.
I think the tough games might play handy for the intensity to our game.

Watford, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Southampton are not going to roll over simply because it's Leicester City.

People are quick to say how we will slip up but the pressure is genuinely on Leicester equally as much as us and the spuds.

Manchester City are the only ones with genuine league winning experience. This is the business end of the season, everything else is jockeying for position and we despite injuries and form are in a position.

We are now looking like Gabriel will get a run and hopefully a now up to speed Coquelin will be a permanent fixture with Elneny taking Flamini's spot on the bench. This is also where Cech will show his true value.

Leicester are doing a fantastic job and all credit to them and Ranieri and if we are not to be Champions then they will be my pick to win it.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Feb 2016 19:50:39
Whatever happens, its going to go right to the wire.
We all have to play each other, us v Leicester, Man City v Spuds, plus we have to go to Spuds and City.

Leicester are still my favs for title and they have no Euro distraction and they play with no expectations on themselves.

Sunday is massive, for everybody.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2016 20:45:33
Allowing for draws away to utd Spurs Everton and City and winning the remaining 9 games obviously including Leicester on Sunday we would end up with 79 points,
1 can we do that?
2 if so will 79 points be enough this season?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2016 21:56:59
I never look that far ahead mate.
What we hope for and what we actually achieve can be very different with this Arsenal team.

I'm a 'one game at a time' kinda guy.

Seriously though beat Leicester game on!

As you say beat Leicester and we're back in the thick of it Sussex mate, at the moment Leicester look like champions elect to me and I don't see us beating them Sunday as I think they've got to much fight in them to roll over for anyone even a couple of goals down they just keep going and make it happen for themselves.
Arsene describes Sanchez as having a street fighters mentality I'd say the whole Leicester team have that mentality too.

Well in 4 weeks time we'll have a pretty good idea of what is still achievable for us this season
Leicester home
Utd away
Swansea home who have a good record at the Emerirates
Spurs away.
Normally 8 point's from those games would be a good return but I think we will have to get 10 to keep pace and hopefully narrow the gap, get 12 points from them and the bus and civic reception we were planning a few months back would be right back on :-)

Beating Leicester and united will left the team confidence and we will be flying after that, spuds game going to be a tough one but winnable and I think spurs them selves will be think that too.
I see a minimum of 10 points.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2016 18:01:01
Hope your right Moe 10pts would be excellent from that run of games mate, I've no idea how we will do as 5 points (1W 1L 2D) wouldn't shock me at all but then again 12 isn't beyond our capabilities either if we can some how find top gear as we did against utd city and Bayern, but those kind of performances have been few and far between so far this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2016 19:06:34
True that g62 mate, I thought we might end up with 5 points too. But we seemed to turn up for most of the big games apart from Chelsea and we did pretty well. To be honest united game doesn't frighten me at all niether spurs as we seem to fluff away againt the so called the lesser teams like swansea.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2016 13:25:53
We will beat Leicester and Swansea draw at OT and loose at white hart lane.

07 Feb 2016 23:37:17
Now I am saying this as a full card carrying member of the GK club but watching the games today it makes me think that whatever you think of the overall quality of the premiership it has IMO by far the highest level of goalkeepers versus any other league.

Cech, Courtois, DDG, Hart and Buckland.

{Ed007's Note - Forster?}

08 Feb 2016 03:52:34
Ed007 beat me to it, Forster is an amazing keeper, I'd go so far as to say id like him to take over after Cech for a few years when Cech hangs his glovea up.

He is the reason Southampton left us two points light.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2016 10:21:57
It could have been anyone in goal to be honest. the ball was hitting him rather than him saving them, it was poor finishing on our part that let us down.

He is a good keeper though don't get me wrong.

08 Feb 2016 08:50:59
Forster too 007 :-)

{Ed007's Note - I said the minute he left Celtic he would go to the Euros as England's No.1 and if he hadn't been injured I think he would have, he still might. Is that 5 clean sheets since he came back?}
